one of my best friends died yesterday. I'm still pretty shocked about it, he was one of my good friends, i thought it was adorable how he had a crush on me. Justin gird was in an accident tuesday morning on his way to school.
this was taken from kwch.com:
An early-morning accident Tuesday has left one teenager dead and two other drivers hospitalized. It happened just after 7:00 on I-135 near Central.
Justin Gird, 17, was taken to the hospital in critical condition and later died.
Kansas Highway Patrol Troopers say Gird and another driver were involved in a rear-end collision and pulled off to the left shoulder. Both drivers got out of their cars and were standing along the highway's siderail.
That's when an SUV in the left lane hit the cars and Gird.
The company that towed the wrecked cars away says it regularly has to handle cars parked in dangerous parts of the road. Monte Ysidro, owner of Ken's Auto Tow, says one of his own tow truck drivers died a few years ago when a car sideswiped him on Kellogg.
"I've been out there myself, and you're real nervous," says Ysidro. "You've always got to keep your eye on the traffic and just try to get out of there as quick as you can."
Troopers say because of the nature of the crash, they don't believe Gird could have made it to the right shoulder or off the elevated roadway.
The crash shut down the canal route for nearly an hour while crews cleaned up the wreckage, but the road is back open at this time. Neither of the other drivers involved in the crash was critically injured.
it's one of those feelings like you can't believe he's gone. the worse part about this, is I found out while watching the 9 o' clock news last night. i don't know why no one could have told me. everything is alright now, I'm not as emotional as I was last night.
In loving memory of Justin Gird
 We'll miss you
