'Sup Dogz?
First, I'll present a nice traditional pet portrait that i made for Jess' mom of her little man, Prince:

And now, i present a twist to the traditional dog portrait... a new project to combine my love of both monsters and dogs:

(Yes, i'll be working on more dog breeds)

Deadbeat Magazine: Hell Yeah!
I finally got around to scanning this in...
Like i mentioned in a previous post, Deadbeat Magazine featured me and my work in an article. So, here it is! The spread before this one also has a selection of my artwork on it as does the magazine's index page.

Bad Reputation
Got a new Reverend Horton Heat shirt gettin' printed! They wanted something along the lines of my Dead Legends series (which i hope isn't a jinx), but i was glad to do it up:

And for anyone wondering where i've been since i haven't updated in ...a month? Lately, my time has been occupied by three main categories: The lady and wedding plannin' (successfully, by the way... we just need a way to finance this business), workworkwork, and downloading (a lot of) new music. I'm sure i'll end up giving back by uploading a few mixes to share here once I've actually completed a few of these.

Rose Melberg
My People,

Please tell me that one of you has a digital recording of Rose Melberg's "I Love How You Love Me" --- Someone? Anyone? Help a brotha out? I will make you digital mixes galore if you would share it.

All my love,
Nik

Edit: Found the cd, bought it, burned it right on in.

Deadbeat
Hey Duuuuudes,
I haven't seen it yet for my own eyes, but i've got a little article written about me and my work in the current issue of Deadbeat Magazine, Australia's Kustom Kulture Magazine. If i get it sooner than later, i'll scan the sucker in:

Don't Touch My Hair!
"Don't Touch My Hair" for pillowcases:

A handful of "underground rock and roll artists" were asked to come up with a 1-color pillow case design (either 1 design for both cases or a matching set). 1-color designs are tricky for me, Mr. lover of color over here... but hell, i still like outcome.

Once they're printed, i'll post about these again. And until then, other versions to come...

Pitchers.
Finally!

Here are some pictures from our LA trip. Most of these are of the hot rods at California Screamin', so be warned. The "TroubleMakers" car club had - hands down - the most amazing cars i've ever seen. What i wouldn't do for my truck to have a paint job like these....

California Screamin' )

So, all in all... LA is a nice place to visit, but i wouldn't survive living there. I felt like i was stuck in an episode of Saved By The Bell 90% of the time. Especially when that girl rode by us on her skateboard while talking on her cell phone.

California Love
What did we do on vacation while in LA?
Oh, you know.... went to California Screamin', drooled over amazing cars, got food poisoning, went to Disneyland... GOT ENGAGED!

Bling! Bling! )

Special thanks to all that made this possible: Disneyland and The Haunted Mansion.

Stolen Art
I just found out today that a number of my pieces (along with a lot of other people's) were stolen off the web via LCS and included in this book, Colorful Illustrations 93, which is published out of Hong Kong.

Now, i'm not someone who's totally bummed about this. I just would have liked to have been asked first, maybe get a free book out of the deal, and supply them with print-quality artwork opposed to the web images they used.

Too bad they couldn't even try to color match the background a little better. And maybe put a little more effort into that poor layout while they were at it.

If you're gonna steal, do it right.

Update: Jess reminded me i oughtta post a link to more information. Darren, the owner of LCS, posted this announcing what had happened with more detail:
over here. A cd also comes with the book --- which it gives the impression that the artwork on the cd is for them to use however they want royalty free. And that, my friends, is certainly not the case.

Nice coconuts!
Here's something new that i finished up last night - specifically for California Screamin';

Jess and I decided that all of the titles for my illustrations here on out should reflect my love of drawing boobz. ....okay, not really. BUT it's really tempting.
