More Jerry Springer: The Opera nonsense. Today the Sun is running this story on its front page. The Sun, apparently, is afraid of the opportunity this gives children to watch the show on Saturday night. On page 3 of the massively-distributed newspaper is a naked model. The hypocrisy is strong in this one. Murdoch's papers are never that fond of the BBC, after all. There's a clear motive for this attack, and it isn't protecting the children. The complaints to the BBC and to Ofcom, both of which are in record numbers for a TV show - and it hasn't even been broadcast yet - are being made by a small group of hardcore Christians and "decency" campaigners who are now backed by the weight of The Sun's comment. Clearly, this small group of noisy protesters shouldn't be allowed to influence what we can and cannot see on TV. 15,000 complaints so far, and 4000 to Ofcom -- http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,2-2005002612,00.html
