Dear Bitch

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
manga
No, you are the self-centered controlling manipilive bitch. Not katie. Chris still loves Katie and you are the ONLY person having an issue with this. STOP ATTACKING KATIE, because she HAS not attacked you AT ALL. You keeps telling you that she doesn't like your actions, you attack her as a person. You are soo fucking abbsessed with your fucking dreams and wedding that you doesn'y think about others. It's too bad that chris has no brain and you have to take control for what's best for him. Chris has repeatedly said he doesn't know and he still loves katie. why the hell would he keep fucking her if he doesn't love her. You are the person who keeps trying to make up his mind, who keeps pestering him until he answers the way you want.

Katie us happy with whatever chris wants. it may not be what she wants, but has and will support him. YOU will not. it's either what you want or nothing.

grow fucking up baby and think of someone else for a change. you want me to not hold things in? you want me to talk, to tell people when I want to rip them a new one? You asked for this, you want to know how I feel. It's better for me. thank you for teaching me to talk. to not bottle things up. other then the snugglings that's probably the only good thing I have got out of meeting you. i'm sure after this you won't be able to stay friends, and you sure as hell won't want to play and have fun, but in spite of this I still want to be your friend. I just need YOU to change, not chris, and I don't think you can. so PLLLLLLLLLLBBBBBBBTTTT!

I hate people

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
manga
People are the most fucking selfish, inconsiderant self-center assholes. Sadly me me, the more of a just and a self-centered asshole you are the more you get ahead and get what you want. Nice people get screwed. Period

I wish I wasn't so jaded. I wish I was the same kid who flunked his college entrance exam because he couldn't think of anything when given the topic "life is unfair, write why you feel this way", but i'm not. Every asshole and self-centered person I have ever met has gotten ahead, gotten rewarded, gotten promoted, gotten happy. Nice people? Nice people get screwed or ignored. Both in my case. The worst part? As a christian you would diing would be the answer because then you got to heaven. Who in their right mind want to be God's suck-up for the rest of existance?

Christians use it as an excuse to be asses. Not all, because I think I still have a few here who aren't, but if you aren't a complete asshole you get shat on.

I hate people, and no, anybody who wants to ask what got me so pissed off probably will not get an answer. Because no matter how much you deserve one I'm not a brave enough asshole to dilberatly hurt others feelings. I hope I am someday. People need to be bitch-slapped (both genders) and the only way I will ever get ahead in this fucking world is if I face my fears, stop caring about others, and become an asshole. Until then I'll just watch my brain rot and my mind go.

I love you Katie.

Things I need

Things I need

A fast chatter/drop box that gets either filed or posted, usually both.

A web programming IDE

A master TODO database, probably linked to the drop box

A command center, with the database and other stuff.

Sure, we could say that I have too much stuff, but the fact that I STILL don't have a good fileing system, online or offline is why I have information overload. It's burning me out.

I need the ability to take all my delicious links and inbox them.

FIFO

How do I FIFO my mind?

How do I FIFO my life?

FIFO stands for First In, First Out. The first thing in to the system is the first think that gets processed.

Good Design

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
manga

The Official Google Blog defines 10 things that the user experence teams feels makes good code:

1. Focus on people—their lives, their work, their dreams.
2. Every millisecond counts.
3. Simplicity is powerful.
4. Engage beginners and attract experts.
5. Dare to innovate.
6. Design for the world.
7. Plan for today’s and tomorrow’s business.
8. Delight the eye without distracting the mind.
9. Be worthy of people’s trust.
10. Add a human touch.

For the most part I think my programming follows these guidelines.

Focus on people. If I didn’t care about my users I wouldn’t listen to them. Any problems or ideas that JWebGen users have gets handled promptly.

Every millisecond counts. That’s kinda a tough one. I haven’t mastered the habit of placing timing code into my programs. Generaly I don’t place a high priority on this item because I can’t remember ever getting a comment about the speed.

Simplicity is powerful. This one always trips me up. As I mentioned in a prior post, I have a big problem trying to design first, code later. Who cares how how dirty the code is if the end result and user interface is fast and clean? I don’t.

Engage beginners and attract experts. JWebGen doesn’t have a place for experts. Everybody can see how to use it and it doesn’t need a manual. I rest my case. If it needs a manual you have a problem. Users don’t read, and shouldn’t have to.

Dare to innovate. Why do it everybody else’s way? Do it your way. It sets you apart and people will either love it or hate it. If they hate it, they will either tell you or they won’t. Don’t sweat it.

Design for the world. Designers and programmers aren’t always users. What makes sense to them doesn’t always work for us. If you can use your creation, and want to, and it requires very few questions of ‘How do I do this?’ they you suceeded. It’s nice to feel needed, but don’t be silly.

Plan for today’s and tomorrow’s business. In the case of JWebGen, that really just means programming for the future. Can you easily add new features? How bad will things break? Will they break at all? Is your code static, or can it grow?

Delight the eye without distracting the mind. Is it good to look at? Does it have extra pretties that aren’t needed? Extra fluff? Not enough visuals?

Be worthy of people’s trust. It’s fine to create a privacy statement but lets face it, people don’t read them. Either people trust you or they doesn’t. If you except people to locate a privacy statement and be conviced they should trust you then you’ve lost. People shouldn’t even think about this. Be trustworthy.

Add a human touch. I talk to my users. In my code, on my site. Don’t script. People are human. Speak to your users. Build a relantionship. Be informal. Banter. If your users know you, if they trust you they want to use what you give them. They know it’s for them, not that it has a hidden reason for you.

Almost forgot. To help out with my Time Warner duties I created a new little tool, DNS 360. It’s great for pulling WHOIS and DNS records. There are some changes I’d like to make, but it works for now. Check it out if you want.

Still around…

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
manga

It’s been a month since my last update. Credit Flock with getting that one out to you, although I don’t use the browser. Call me old-school (or new) I like my Firefox. Version 3 is close to release and Parent Folder is 100% compatible with Beta 5.

On the JWebGen front, I added a feature called Surprise me that is a bit hit. Simple code, amazing results. It’s interesting, but I can only program when I just do. Any attempt to design or plan first hits a dead end. Trance helps as well. To those who follow my Last.fm you will see a fair amount of trance showing up. That often means I’m slinging code, and this time is no exception. Not saying what is is because it’s rough and I want it to be a surprise, but there is progress. I just need graphics.

That’s the update. Until next time, keep it turned here, same time, same great station.

Letter from my mom

I received the following letter from my mom today.

-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

Dear Joe -

I've always admired your self-directed learning style, the knowledge and skills you've aquired on your own, and you willingness to help anyone you can with their computer problems. You deserve the best! And you owe it to yourself and Katie to be justly compensated for the work you do.

You are well qualified for the jobs Dad told you about with the Federal Government. They're local, pay $50-60,000 / yr. with full benifits, and don't even require a college degree. This could be a great opportunity.

But Dad says he still hasn't received a copy of your resume. Did you send it? If not, and you're sincerely interested in the jobs Dad told you about, please e-mail it to _____________ right away.

Love ya! Mom

Tales of the sheep

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
manga
Protect the minds of the young sheep therefore, and remove all that may taint them. Be ye still then sheep and obey the Ones, for they know ye best and do ye good.

And it went out, that the Keepers looked and lo! a sheep was found looking at the grass before eating.

And the Keepers saw this and were afraid.

And the Keepers went to the ones and said `There is a sheep who looks before feeding, what should we do?`

The Ones spake; `If the sheep looks before feeding it is aware, it is thinking. Take the sheep and bring it before us.` So the Keepers went on and clave the sheep from the herd, and brought it before the Ones.

The Ones looked at the sheep from their Seat and spake; `Sheep, why do you look at the grass before eating?`

The sheep answered `The other sheep poop in the grass as they feed and I look to make sure I do not eat that poop`

The Ones looked at the sheep `The other sheep eat the grass and do not worry about the poop, why do not you?`

The sheep replied `The other sheep are often ill, I wish to be a strong and Useful sheep.`

The Ones trembled that the sheep was thinking thus and said `In so thinking before eating you eat less and have become weak. You must come with us and eat of only the best grass we have to offer.`

The sheep went with the Ones and ate of the Special Grass. Quickly then did the sheep became calm and peaceful. The Ones smiled and all was well again.
