| Austrian Nazi politician offed himself in car accident.
Jörg Haider was far too fast and after overtaking another car he got off the street because he steered
too far to the right.
Fortunately he only DUIed himself to death and didn't kill anyone else.
Now Austria's leaders are saying how he was a great political personality - what a brown bog over there. Let's be happy the extremists lost their stupid-charismatic leader figure - he obviously had that kind of muhaha-charm that wins over morons world wide.
I like the thought that when he lay in the curb he could have been saved by being peed on and someone chose not to cross that street.

|
| Obviously due to the recent subjects of this blog the personalised ads have become increasingly... I can't say that now.
Because the goal of THIS post here is to counteract against this so of course I can't say that word that starts with "b" and describes the salty liquid running through our, erm, internal tubing.
Pink unicorns gallop into an apricot sunset. Chocolate cake with magenta icing. Frilly plingety pling pling pling. Harp. Cute like whatever, I know, right. Squeee. Creamy clouds dreamily sail through aquamarine skies. You think this is enough already?
Let's see. I'm curious.
Teddy bears, bunny rabbits, soap bubbles, rainbows, pussy kitties, vanilla ice cream, hamster pants...
EDIT: first was this:

( not getting better ) I'd like to mention again that I can't see those myself because thanks to Firefox and Adblock Plus my internet doesn't have any ads. I can't even see the ads using IE because when I still used it I fiddled with the host file so there, too, the ads are suppressed. Those examples were spitefully kindly sent to me by h_punkt. The red rim... highlighting was also him.

I'm on holidays, I have time to feed the critters - and that second one here was obviously also hungry already.
( close up - don't worry, no blood to see yet ) Now I'm sitting here with dressings around that sanitary towel, wrapped around my throat like a scarf and I'm peacefully bleeding into it. Who knew it could also help against a sore throat: bleeding into a scarf really does keep your neck nicely warm. | 10 demons<add something> |

| Difficulties getting up? Sleeping through your morning grooming routines? Trouble waking your brain in time for work?
I just found the remedy for all who aren't morning persons:
Rub some peppermint oil into your eyes. It will get your spirits really high and once you managed looking out of your eyes again you'll feel enormously refreshed and the headaches you had all night long and which were the reason for carelessly applying the oil to your temples mere minutes before washing your face, they are also gone.
I do these things so you don't have to. Or because I'm daft. | 8 demons<add something> |

This morning the leech bite stopped bleeding - I hope I'll keep a scar. It looks like a bunny nose!

| It has been approximately 2 months since they ate - and yet one leech already felt a tad peckish. And it attached itself for lunch to one of the most sensitive places you could think of and put its teeth right between middle and ring finger - of my right hand.

I'm typing with my left while the blood is still dripping into that yellow bowl:
( dont look if you cant or dont want to see blood )
Arsehole leech. They were not supposed to do that...

I need a sign like that so people stop knocking on my car window if I take a nap during my lunch break.
Yes, sure, they "mean well" - but really; if I saw someone lying in their car with the backrest set back (not weirdly spread out over the dashboard, mind you) I definitely would assume they were just taking a rest. And not GIVE them a heart attack by knocking and shouting at them. Today has been the 3rd time this has happened to me.
Does any of the Germans have the German translation of Granny's sign? Ich binne nich toth? I'd like to use the "original" phrase.

| I asked shannachie for the indecent photo and uploaded it on Flickr:
It's a shield, not what YOU think. He's a he.
The backstory for those who don't read Ju's journal:
shannachie innocently enjoyed her holidays. At a museum/historical Celtic village Gabreta she took the picture of a wooden replica statue of a Celtic chieftain - the original would be about 2500 years old.
Little did she know what foul imagery she had been tricked into looking at. But rejoice: the custodians of virtue at Photobucket made it clear they would not host such filth and deleted the picture, claiming it violated their terms of use.
Phooey, wooden statues! Darn those filthy Celts! And you there, pray cover those bare piano legs - they are, you know, bare LEGS!
EDITED: Photobucket was sensible and restored the picture after Ju complained. It's sad but it rather comes as a surprise to me to find someone on the internet being decent and not being a hardheaded extremist.

| I'm usually very much of the opinion that your journals are your journals and you should post what, when and how you want without people whining about how their flist looks like if you do that.
So I'm not asking you to spare me with your "dragon" pest, I'll surely survive scrolling a bit more and faster and if this fad lasts much longer I won't hold it against you if I'll have to kick you off my flist, no big deal. But since aryana_filker has offered it, this is just a little suggestion: if you feel it's necessary to repeatedly show us your "eggs" (that would be so much nicer in German...) you might waste just a few more seconds and create a filter for it.
And don't put me on that filter, please.
Edited: I was referring to those "virtual pests" erm "pets", not the monthly visit of the red dragon called Auntie Flo. Complain as much as you need about being on the rag, please!
Afterthought: "filtering eggs" - you remember that, sibylle?

| Re:
"Queen's" new album has been released, "The Cosmos Rocks", and it's far too tempting not to say "and it sucks rocks".
Unfair, unfair! Yes, I just heard several songs on the radio today, that's the admittedly meager basis for my harsh criticism. But from what I heard I really don't feel like getting the album.
So - am I saying that now Freddie is unavailable Brian and Roger aren't allowed to make music anymore? (And what about John?) Of course not. But there really is this issue with the name "Queen": Freddie wasn't Queen without the others but the others definitely aren't Queen anymore without Freddie (and John...). I could even accept a "Queen" with only the remainders, but not with 50% plus some zero profile Joe Average whose voice is completely unimpressive and unremarkable.
Sure, Paul Rodgers got the shitty side of the microphone stand and any Freddie successor couldn't possibly succeed living up to general expectations. Do we have to be grateful we didn't get Mikah or some other Freddie impersonator? This would have soiled Freddie's memory because by that he would have been deemed exchangeable.
There is just no way to have Queen without him. Buck up, boys, and establish a new platform for creating new music and , sure, why not also "cover" your old Queen material in concerts. But don't call that band "Queen". I would have cheered if they had chosen a female lead - no comparison issues plus a possibly similar voice range. Think Lisa Stansfield singing "I Want To Break Free". Think some fresh punky face like a young Pink. Yeah. That could have been grand. They even could have called such a band "Queen B".
Oh, besides those personnel issues - there's also the music of "The Cosmos Rocks". Ahem. Sorry guys. If you hadn't generally desecrated the name "Queen" I think I might have bought it just because I used to love you. I still wouldn't listen to it much. The songs I've heard on the radio ranged between o.k.ish and meh-esque. No fresh tunes, no driving bass (well, no John, duh), nothing that grips you by your balls/ovaries and makes you sing along. Nothing much at all, really.
So all in all right now I'm looking at Brian like he was some kind of cheese.

 finding beauty in the neighbourhood
And Flickr puts all the pictures on the map.
Reminder The meme is: Post postcard quality pictures of where you live. Imagine stocking a local kiosk's postcard rack with cards a tourist would choose to write home. Of course you can post older pictures if you already have some meeting the requirements. Indulge!

| Whereas I usually despise memes from the bottom of my heart, here I'm actually trying to kick-start one.
Well, I don't like those "personal info memes" that are like the equivalent of the "my mates books" we had in school, cross bred with the TMI beast. Just as those "writers' blocks prompts" you can get from LJ, if anyone would really be inspired by an idea and elaborate on it in a proper, wordy post, that'd meet my expectations of blogging, but just answering random questions with one word or sentence - honestly, no person in the world is automatically so awesomely interesting to anyone else but themselves that doing such a meme would be a good idea in the first place. Thank you for using cut-tags when you really have to do a 50 questions meme.
O.k., so what am I up to besides giving you a piece of my misanthropy once again?
One of my flisters, caramelapples11 from Malaysia, answered the question about what her country is like with a picture post that is just breathtakingly beautiful.
I strongly suspect that it's way easier to find postcard quality motifs if you live somewhere like Malaysia than, let's say, suburban Germany. Still, I think it is a great challenge to find beauty in your familiar environment and I'm looking forward to roaming the neighbourhood, local landmarks and nearby region to capture the spirit of home from its best side. I would immediately start looking for sites if the weather right now wasn't so counterproductive. As soon as we'll have a good afternoon/weekend I'm going to do the postcard picture meme myself, though.
So, dear flist, go for it! Post postcard quality pictures of where you live. Imagine stocking a local kiosk's postcard rack with cards a tourist would choose to write home. Of course you can post older pictures if you already have some meeting the requirements. Indulge!

| I just finished Wen Spencer's Tinker and Wolf Who Rules. I had some inhibitions with those because .
But damn, I liked them, too. WS's writing is original and fun, makes often-used tropes entertaining and adds a dry twist to the mix.
I've already been told that the Ukiah series will not be continued due to publishers being uninspired fucktards. Do you happen to know, what about the Tinker series? Is there going to be another book? (With "you" I'm referring to anyone who might know and obviously people like tarkrai or trektone specifically since you seem to know Wen Spencer well enough to have been put into the novels, at least by name.)
