Snow! Lots of snow! Apparently this is the most snow we have had in December since 1945 or something like that. Awesome. Toronto decided to use its sidewalks to pile their snow so I had to stand in the middle of the street to catch a bus because the bus station was also not plowed so they buses were not going in it.
I saw I Am Legend yesterday. They got the name of the movie right...and the name of Robert Neville. That is about it. They tried to modernize the book and failed miserably at even capturing what the book is actually about. Instead they just tried to make a horrible CGI horror film with no meaning. A review I read says it all. They have found a cure to cancer with the side effects of death, vampirism and being turned into a horrible CGI monster.
Cure for cancer, not sure who came up with that brilliant idea to try and give the virus an origin.
Will Smith did a good job acting, I'll give him that. But that does not make up for the actual butchery of everything else. It was incredible. A lot of it didn't even make sense. I figured they would change the ending because Hollywood would not improve the ending of the book but it was worse than I thought. Then there were all the scenes that gave you hope that they would save the movie yet but turned out to just be making it worse.
That being said - if you have not read the book then the movie isn't that bad up until 3/4 of the way through and you might actual like it.
To Sum it up: Go watch Enchanted instead. I saw it a couple weeks ago: it's brilliant.

Thats right, the Leafs can not only win 7-1, they can win 8-1! Must have been the pressure from them knowing that there wasn't miles and a tv between me and them. That I was only inches away. Guess I should go to more games ;) Or it could have been the fact that Johnny Bower and Walter Gretzky were sitting right behind me.
Tucker is awesome.

My throat hurts. Who gets sick in the summer?
Its been a while since I've posted. I think I'll talk about last Saturday. Alex and I watched Ocean's Thirteen which was alright. Afterwards we met up with Laura and her friend and a friend of hers for bowling. Its been years since I've bowled last and now I've gone 3 times this year. I'm starting to improve. Ever so slowly. I suck at bowling. See I do this weird thing where I twist the ball. You know how the professionals will curve their ball to hit pins? I do that. But I have no control over it. So if I get it right I get a strike. The other half of this is a gutter ball.
Moving on. Alex and I had rum and coke's and it was the best rum and coke I have ever had. It just blended so smoothly together. Extremely addictive. I noticed they were using Bacardi white rum. Going have to try and get the right mixture sometime.
Alex and the other guy there were always one off from each other in winning. Us girls were a little behind. I think I ended up tied for 3rd.
Afterwards we went back to Laura's for a campfire in her backyard. In 5 minutes I had 10 mosquito bites in the most oddest of places including between my toes, between my thumb and index finger, and way up on my hip where a mosquito had crawled up my shorts. Mosquitoes love me.
We roated smores and hot dogs and I had peanut butter. It was mucho fun!
I still need a new layout and icons.

[13 May 2007|12:22pm] |
Friday My Chemical Romance concert. MCR had been cancelling concerts all of last week due to them, the crew and opening bands coming down with severe food poisoning. Thankfully they did not cancel friday. I have mix feelings about the concert though. The two opening bands that I knew of (Muse and Rise Against) did not play, probably still sick. MCR when they came out played the songs on their latest cd, in the order that they are in the cd. Which was kind of disappointing. However, their special effects were amazing. For The Sharpest Lives they shone an orange light on Gerard and then flashed a bright white light on and off behind him. When the light flashed off, all you could see was pure blackness and Gerard glowing orange. It was a neat affect. However, I had a migraine all last week, that did not help. Other than that they used fire and confetti was a good show in that regards. I'm not sure if it was planned or just because the two opening bands did not play, but their encore was longer than most. They played most of their second cd. They came out in Maple Leaf jersey's with their names on them. Very awesome. You could tell they were still suffereing from being sick.
Saturday The marathon. Thankfully my migraine left for that period of time but it still affected me. I finished; in a lot longer amount of time than I was hoping. But I got to meet Hazel McCallion. Very cool. This one random spectator near the end shouted out my name and cheered me on. (My name was on my bib). Alex and mom and dad were all there too. It was tiring...but fun. Suffering today though; and my migraine is back.

Here, in a small coffer, lays the answer to one of the questions the humankind has made itself this year… “But how the f*** do they write the scripts of Lost?” It was send to us by an spy, was hidden by an air-hostess and a lesser demon (marketing) certified it’s authenticity. So here we have it. Each weekend J.J. Abrams and his friends meet to play a game of an RPG, and the mondays he uses his notes to write the scripts. We have been able to access to some of his notes, which we offer to you now.

I love thunderstorms.
Guy Gavriel Kay was at the University of Waterloo last week. I love Kay's books. Unfortunately it was during the week so I couldn't go. But Alex rocks and went for me! He bought me his latest book and got it autographed!!
There is some weird electro activity at the greenhouse. The weekend before last I noticed on Saturday that my watched was displaying the wrong day. The time was right, but the date listed the day before. I fixed it at the timee; but on Sunday it was once again a day behind. Thinking my battery was just dying I decided to wait until Monday to see if it happened again. Later on Sunday I glanced at the watch I keep on my purse to discover it had the wrong time. Once again I thought it the battery, fixed it and decided to see what happened Monday. The rest of the week both watches were absolutely fine.
Last weekend, we were watching Veronica Mars and the DVD player would randomly turn itself off. Its not like there was a power outage or anything, neither the TV nor lights ever went off. Just the DVD player. Alex computer turns itself off too.
Jackie's room is also like this. You cannot keep any clocks in her room because they can never keep time while in there.

Next time I mention I'm dying my hair black stop me. I dyed it back in September, within a month it faded to dark brown and now won't go away.
Even more frustrating is the fact that I went to play FFXII tonight and what do you know. My PS3 decided to delete my PS2 virtual memory card. 15 hours just gone down the drain. I did a google search and discovered that there have been many reports of the PS3 just randomly deleting the data. This happened after their support hours. Going to give them a call tomorrow at lunch.
