*sigh* Well, it's not the huge Winnie the Pooh set I wanted that I saw on ebay, but I managed to find quite a bit of Bento Stuff at Ichiban Kan for incredibly cheap (it's the Japanese dollar store). I think these, combined with the cute snack holders I found at the dollar store on Shattuck, will make for very fun lunches in the future. There are so many cute bento ideas, I can't wait till everything gets here! I'm especially excited for my little hand held pot sticker maker ever since I saw someone use it to make a pb&j sandwich. I mean, come on, how can you resist something like that??

"whispering fabric"

I totally thought that was just one of those phrases that people used. But no. There was some serious whispering going on. Now just need to decide if I want to do an actual waist band or an elastic waistband for the underskirt to my Gaskells gown. Yea, it's going to be amazing, I can't wait for October!! XD

I can't... remember everything. But it was all about Battlestar Galactica. And zombies. I think. I might have added the zombies after I woke up because it seemed interesting at the time. But definitely BSG themed. >.>

It's probably not a good thing when I go to check my email and see something from my dad that I suddenly feel like doing anything at all except look at my email...

*does the jig of win* Woo, hole in one at puttputt tonight! I can't even remember the last time I did this. Yay for puttputt and dinner with lots of House, West Wing, Puzzle Pirates, and reading in between.

Looking forward to another day of weekend without the worry that I have work the next day.

Hey [info]kairiwitch !

I totally had a dream about you last night! We were sitting at the computer and you were waiting for your Ravelry invite. We were *so* excited and you were very worried that you wouldn't get one and so we sat and sat until it finally came!

That's all. :)

Today is a fairly awesome day at work. Got here at my usual earlyish time, had the office to myself for a bit so took the time to run the dishwasher and straighten up a bit and get everything ready for today. Just got out of our SF Team Meeting and got some really awesome positive feedback on my ideas for the upcoming summer and holiday parties. Also will likely be helping out another person with their workload as they seem to be doing 5 things at once with only 2 hands. This may or may not be a good idea is yet to be seen, but at least I will have more to do and this will potentially give me a good head start to moving ahead in different areas of the company. Yay for a busy and very productive work day. This is how it sould be *every day*!!!

Life is so awesome right now, I really can't complain and the black cloud of icky that followed me around yesterday has been banished by the happy. Made of win!

Really hoping that this doesn't mean I am midly lactose intolerant as I *need* my cookies and milk time or things just go poorly for everyone.

Today was probably the laziest work day I've had yet. Next to nothing needed to be done today, and the stuff that needed to be worked on passed by in the blink of an eye. So, my day was spent Etsy browsing and now I've ended up with a "wishlist" cart that totals to probably around $200+ worth of stuff I'll be slowly, slowly buying over time. I bought two things today, fabric scraps that I'll be using for a patchwork skirt and my dress for the holiday party. Yes, I know it's *months* away, but sometimes you just see the dress you want and you have to get it before it's gone! I may end up finding another one down the road, but I wanted this dress to wear around no matter what, so I don't see it as a waste of money (and surprisingly little money, at that). Glad to see I have at least found my new direction for clothes. I'd been in a slump for years now, and didn't want to buy anything extravagant without having a concrete theme for what I was buying, but now, thankfully, I'm finding things I want again. I think this may be the next thing I buy.

Things are going incredibly well despite my having been at work only 25 minutes and the "other" OS person is already "so did you do x,y,z yet???". Saturday I went and picked up my Sculpey from Phil's. We killed the sushi roll because it looked all blurry and not at all like good sushi, but my cake and the onigiri turned out just fine, and Phil's snake looks awesome. Next step is to find some sort of varnish or sealer and some acrylic paint and I'll be set! Saturday was also the trip into El Cerrito to go to Target, only to find out that it had been closed down since July (oops). Conveniently, there was an OSH right next door that got me the things I needed and also grabbed some cat food. Sadly, Irwin has a mild case of ringworm on his nose, which he's being treated for right now, but afterwards, totally going to go see him! Phil and I ran over to the Post Office afterwards and made plans for laundry the next day.

Saturday night was made of complete awesome as I managed to snag a ride to Friday Night Waltz in Oakland and helped "teach" the rotary waltz class from 7-8 and the Congress of Vienna class from 8-9. Getting a bit better at the remembering names game and got lots of compliments on my dancing, and I am also starting to feel a bit better about my dancing, too. I think this particular FNW was even *better* than usual because Richard Powers was there doing contra class across the hall, which meant that every other song from 9-12 was a contra and it was SO fun! I was surprised at how easy they were to pick up since I hadn't been in the class at all and I really don't think you can do a contra and not just be overwhelmed by feelings of "omg happy" (though some people were really trying...). Also, purple yam ice cream is totally an adventure I'd do again.

Sunday was a combination of laundry and Star Trek (TNG) before heading home to relax and get ready for dinner with Phil and his fam and it was nom worthy to be sure. Tried to watch Underworld, but the disk failed, and so we ended up watching Batman Begins instead, which was awesome as always and, imo, far better than the latest film. We are also made of awesome as we managed to maneuver the couch into his room so that we could watch everything on BluRay on his computer with the crazy surround sound speakers that made the movie like 5 times creepier.

Looking forward to getting off work today so that I can BART over to the airport and meet Martin once his flight gets in. Just have to make it through today!

Last night was a good night overall. The circumstances behind it were unfortunate, but being able to go out and spend time together on a day Martin and I don't normally see each other was good. A trip to Emeryville for socks, books, and a birthday present, I walked away with some Sculpey, and we both enjoyed Elephant Bar for the first time. Lots of relaxing and talking with an early bed time for both of our early Thursdays followed by somewhat sad Faire dreams that left me with much to ponder. My day is noticeably duller without talking on aim at work and looking at lols and adoptable kitties together, but it is an unfortunate necessity and I have more than enough to occupy my time while he is away until Monday.

Speaking of work. My hours are now officially split between OS and admin work so that I do not actually have to feel guilty about wasting half my day online because there isn't enough OS work to fill a full day. While I remain sitting by the phones when I'm not up actually doing things, the other half of my day will be uneventful until we have another regional meeting for me to take notes on or someone needs some travel booked. But, in the end, I certainly won't complain if I am being paid to sit around and knit.

Not much to report today, just a general life as I know it post for my own journal.

*hugs*

Can't I just take *all* of you?? T_T

Today has been a slow work day, which means lots of randomness on the interwebs. Today's theme has been looking at cats to adopt in the coming weeks. The deal is that while Martin is gone in the coming week, if I can manage to finish unpacking the last of my stuff, find a safe place for my books, and get the necessary supplies (after making sure rent is paid), we will go next week to find my kitty. I've been doing a lot of looking and am very sad that one of the shelters in San Jose has turned down my request to come look at one of them because I "live too far". However, there's a place in San Leandro that lists two kitties that I've made some inquiries about: Josh and Irwin. Josh really has the most adorable look on his face (definitely an 'I can haz cheezeburger?' look), but Irwin sounds like such a cuddler and really all I want is a kitty who will love me and put up with me loving him in return because srsly, I need a cat to love in a bad way. I am also looking at older cats as long as they are healthy, but have not yet found one that really tugged at the heart strings, except maybe Johnson, Ollie, though the shelter doesn't know who Ollie is so hopefully it means he's been adopted, and Domino, though I would feel bad getting him without his sister. Sadly, there are many many FIV+ kitties that I would love to take home, but there's just no way I could afford to pay for them if/when they got seriously ill. :(

For whatever reason, I'm unable to get my links to work, so I'll post them here.

"Happy to serve you at ANY hour. No questions asked." - the side of my Jack in the Box cup

Right, so clearly the next time anyone needs an alibi this is the JitB you should come to. Those others ask way too many questions for comfort... I bet they're all Stealth Po' in disguise.

Also, even on days when all I've had to eat is a bagel and a cookie, using this as justification for why I can just eat JitB later is a horrible horrible idea. Oh dear curly fries, why must you make me so violently nauseas??? This will likely be future motivation to remember to take meat out of the freezer the night before to defrost....

Went straight to Pleasanton after work and got there around 6:30. No later than 6:50 I was back at the BART station having tried on the mock up of the corset. It is too awesome. I am very glad to see that the only thing that will be reduce is my waist and that everything else is just supported as usual without any reduction. This means that I will most likely be able to size myself down to a commercial size in order to use the bodice pattern I have for my Dickens/Gaskells dress. Currently the corset allows for an ~4" reduction from my current 28/29" waist down to 24-25" with plenty of comfort and room for more, though I was glad to hear that there will be more boning since it wasn't 100% smooth, especially in the stomach. Taking 1/4" off the bottom for when I sit so I don't poke myself in the thighs and that's it! Ready in approx. 2 weeks. I can't believe it'll be so soon!! The only down side was the extra $10 in BART tickets and my getting home at 8:30 instead of 6. ~_~
