Icons, a Memoir.
Once upon a time there was a young bunny, we'll call her "matgel", who wanted to be just like anybody else in the whole world.
So she started making icons.
Lots of icons.
Which she made free for taking, manipulating, changing, modifying, beating, eating, etc etc...
The only thing she ever asked for in return were a few nice comments, and to be mentioned as the maker somewhere.
How very remarkable.
At first, life was tough. After creating a few obscenities such as this
and this
She gradually became better and decided that, just like anybody else, she wanted an icon journal. Thus,natgelicons was borne.
First Collection: Angel/Buffy, Charmed, Wes Ramsey, Ana Johnsson, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Weebl and Bob, Shrek, and other random stuff (92 icons total)

Gathering all the crap she's done before, she ended up with a very large pile of crap. But lo! The crap was much loved and appreciated by all.
Second Collection: Angel, Charmed, Gilmore Girls (32 icons total)

Next up came the second pile. Which was much, much better in this sad puppy's humble opinion. For the sad puppy had learned the art of brushes and layers. Granted, she learned, but was far from mastering it.
Third Collection: Angel/Buffy, Zodiac (nude warning), fashion and again, randomness (40 icons total)

Please note that the quality of her work slowly became better, although far from superior, finally there were some things to present proudly to the masses. Well, almost.
Forth Collection: Angel/Buffy, Subliminal dn TACT family, Beyonce, X-Men: The Movie (33 icons total)

In an effort to create more interest, she added a few icons for things she cared very little about. The result was not heart warming. Also, here was her first ever icon flame war, which ended very quickly and was quite disappointing, if she says so herself. Sigh.
Finally abandoning the idea of an icon journal after only four entries, miss sad puppy love decided that her journal could use a few updates of any kind. All of her icon posts continued as normal in her regular journal,natgel.

After that, things started to look better. Although there were still a few pitfalls along the way, this mean, lean, icon making machine has learned the virtue of quality bases and taking it easy, jeez!

It was here that she first displayed her love formeth math, socks, and Vincent Kartheiser (although the latter was well-known), her dislike for Wesley, George W. Bush, as well as her awfull sense of humor. Grow and learn, she always says.

It's here that she would like to say that she does not, not at all!, listens to Evanescence.She'd also like to add that she is a filthy liar, It's not her fault Amy is so pretty and iconable. She, oh fuck all of this, I've never seen Garden State in my life, but reblewithacause asked so nicely for Garden State icons, and I just can't turn that girl down. She sure is lucky Natalie Portman is so pretty.
I'd also like to say my icons here turned out really pretty, and even though text still fucks me up every time, this is one of my favorite collections.

I just watched the movie Shark's Tale and loved it, so naturally there were a few amusing icons to be seen. Also, a few silly Lord of the Rings icons, more Pi icons, and a weird little manic depressive rabbit. It was all very confusing. In retrospect, the icons seem very bright to me, but my former monitor was so dark, so no wonder :/

My last post that's dominated by Angel icons. There's not much to say besides that I'm very proud of this collection. The stuff turned out real pretty and unique in my opinion, although I do get overboard sometimes, I like this style so much. Anyhow, icons. Sorry this was such a giant post.

And then, horror of all horrors, by the hand of the lovelymasqthephlsphr, I was switched to the dork dark side. And of course it's Star Wars, and I couldn't bear myself to be over-dramatic because seriously? Lucas already had that pretty much covered. So I made some silly Star Wars icons. Very silly Star Wars icons. BTW, my love for Darth Vader is boundless, I just loved making fun of him. He's a stereotypical redemption seeking wheezing giant! What's not to love?
