10:49 pm - Photoblogging
I've been really enjoying photography lately.  So much so that I'm creating a photoblog.

I'm going to try to update it with a new photo once a week, so for those of you who are interested:  http://kelleyphotography.blogspot.com/

4:46 pm - "The Dark is Rising" or "How The Raped A Great Book"
I heard the Dark Is Rising trailer was available and not that great.  I found it online and watched it, thought it looked like complete crap, but you know, sometimes trailers don't match their movies.  Sure, its in America and so the story doesn't make sense.  Sure they added in a bunch of teen angst crap about talking to girls, but I could ignore that.  I'm a little desperate, but it could still have possibilities.  So I looked it up a little bit more and found an interview with Ian McShane, the man cast as Merriman.

WHAT THE FUCK?!

He says  "I don't think they've been very faithful to the book. I don't know how many of you've read the book. I know they sold a few copies, but I couldn't read it very well. It's really dense. It's from the 70s, you know?"   And it only goes downhill from there.  Will has a fucking twin who's been held captive by the Dark for god's sake! A Twin??  Captive????

My copy comes in at a whopping 224 pages, you could read that in one day!  Seriously, I don't think anyone even read the synopsis on the back of the book let alone the whole thing!

I choose not to acknowledge this movie exists.  Ever.

4:29 pm - The Art of Zen Golf
So I had a revelation today, but there's a story that goes with it.  Warning, this is fairly rambling and probably won't be of interest to anyone but myself.

Point 1: We have a dog, a border collie who is an eight year old girl, beautiful nice girl.

Point 2: A recently made friend is moving back to Wisconsin (that's my luck) and so to have a commemorative evening, I am slightly wine-drunk. I will miss her.

All things considering, it has been a good day, even if a friend is moving away.

Well, I know AJ is heading back to the land of Cows (and Steaks!) shortly, so I thought I'd give a final note on her trip out here. Cristina and I kidnapped her and took her off to Coit Tower and the ocean. We put our feet in, and the moment we turned out backs on the ocean, we promptly got soaked! But at any rate, we had a great day.

I'll probably embarrass her by saying this, but AJ falls under the heading of smart, cute, and possessing a sharp wit. She'll make some nice young man in Borders very happy some day. As for me, I can honestly say meeting her ranks up there in my top couple experiences resulting from Harper's Tale. Cristina and I are are both keeping our fingers crossed that she'll end up out here in California eventually.

So I looked at myspace for the first time last night. My god, its like geocities but designed by blind people on crack.

Also yesterday was another crazy outing with [info]eldritch. We took her to Marine World and then all experienced the San Francisco Ghost Walk. No ghosts came to get us, but we all had fun. There are pictures of our antics here!

Brett Ratner is Joel Schumacher of the modern superhero movie. After seeing X-Men Last Stand, I didn't hate the movie, I was just horribly horribly disapointed.

So Cristina and I went to Hollywood to hang out for a weekend. Take a little time to destress and have some fun! We didn't see any celebrities, but we did see a lot of wacko's. Enjoy the pictures!

Heya folks, we have updated photos on my photo album including pictures of my new truck, my nearly finished poker table project, and pictures of my trip to UC Berkeley's Cal Day where we saw things ranging from the worlds oldest triceratops skull to a large building with a power bar logo on top. Enjoy!

As the subject implies, things are really really good. Marriage is fun, I just got my 300th dvd (302 now), I have Black, Tomb Raider, /and/ Kingdom Hearts 2, and I just bought myself a brand new 2006 fully loaded Toyota Tacoma (my first new car ever). Happy Easter All!

Alright, here's a little test, please answer these in your head before actually clicking to look.

1. Name the three American Idol Judges

2. Name the five members of the Simpson Family

3. Now name the five rights you are entitled to under the First Amendment.

Please leave a comment stating how many you were able to correctly answer from each question.

Update: the nurse I talked to who argued with me was apparently an idiot, normally I'd be inclined to give her the benefit of the doubt, but since she argued with me and cost me an unneeded copay, she's an idiot. I do have a fractured finger, but it is the ring finger for which I was already wearing a little brace thingy. So I basically paid 25 bucks to be told that I should keep wearing it. Also, for those of you wondering why people are trying to punch me, I take Kenpo classes, I'm not out picking fights. ;)

11:06 pm - Weird Day
So last week I sprained my ring finger on my right hand while blocking a punch. I went to the dr. and got x-rays and he said I just had a sprain, gave me a brace and I've been fine. Today, the nurse calls and says they've reviewed my x-rays and I have a fractured middle finger. I of course corrected her that it was my ring finger. She said no, it was my middle, I explained that I'd been in about the ring finger and the doc said it was a sprain. She put me on hold. Two minutes later, she comes back on the line and says yes I have a sprained finger, but I also have a broken middle finger and I need to go into orthopedics tomorrow.

So my question is, how the hell does one have an unknown broken finger?

Damn it, stupid window closed and I lost my entry. Don't feel like typing it again. Basic subject, I'm hurt and out of class for the fourth time in three months. I can't walk. I'm going to be behind on my belt promotion. I love Kenpo and am tired of sitting on the sidelines watching while other people get to learn cool shit. Today Sucked.

2:43 am - The best kiss I've ever had (Extraordinary Girl)
Okay, so random nostalgic-can't-sleep-memory of the night, my best kiss ever.

I was camping with friends, and one of the friends and I had something together. It wasn't necessarily a relationship, we weren't dating, but it was something very special that still means a lot to me. But none of the friends present knew about us. So its the last day we're camping, and she is leaving earlier in the day than I am. I remember being a little sad because we would be saying goodbye, but it would be probably a goodbye hug and nothing more since friends would who knew nothing would be there. Its that morning, and we've both just finished getting ready and are on our way to where the group gets together to eat. I don't know what we're talking about, but I remember all of a sudden she stops us and kisses me. Kisses me really well. I can't describe it, but its a total sensory memory. I'm not even sure if it happened the way I remember it now, but that doesn't matter, its as real to me as the chair I'm sitting in.

She and I never did have a "real relationship" in terms of dating and what not, and over time we kind of drifted apart, not in a bad way, just living our lives in different directions. But she was one of the best friends I've ever had, and she helped me through some very hard times, not to mention having a lot of fun in a lot of not at all hard times. In fact that kiss memory, spectacular though it may be, isn't the top of the list of memories when it comes to her. There are other good ones that edge it out, if just barely.

So, this trip down memory lane is dedicated to That Girl. We don't get to talk very often, just in passing here and there, but my memories of you are the fondest, and you get a thank you for being my friend. And in case she reads this; Cheers to the memory of a spectacular kiss, and may every person be lucky enough to a "That Girl" or "That Guy" as extraordinary as you.

Ever since I first saw Lethal Weapon 3 where Riggs showed Murtaugh how to do a back spin side kick (sort of), I've wanted to learn to do it. As of tonight, I know how. Kenpo rules!

Went to my first NaNoWriMo public we-can-do-this get together today. Was pretty fun, and I'm right on par with the majority when it comes to word count. Yay!
