Ma belle Ami
You were a child of the sun
And the sky and the deep blue sea
Ma belle Ami
There was a time that you thought
That your only friend was me
You were the answer of all my questions
Before we're through
I want to tell you that I adore you
And always do

Comet

My boy

Last night, Comet hid on me so I couldn't give him his pill or his fluids. Today, he seemed to want the fluids, he was clingy until I gave them to him. He stayed very still for the procedure, not trying to escape. I think this was our longest session yet.

Watch this cutie pie grow from day one all the way to his 120th day birthday.
Awwwwww, Just too cute for words.
I would of added the images here but there are 15 photos all together.

I hope you all enjoy the baby Panda photos as much as we have.

Pollo

  • Oct. 11th, 2008 at 5:18 PM

I'm new, and I thought I would introduce everyone to my kitty, Taco de Pollo (aka Pollo). She will be 2 in January (well, I got her from the animal shelter in January when she was around 6wks... but I still call January her birthday lol) and she is my first cat to ever have. I've learned that cats sure are strange, little, loveable animals. Haha.

Change in Attitude?

Hi everyone =)
I've got a question about aggression in goats. I've had my three does since June when they were about 2-3 months old.
Hilary & Spinky (twin Nubian/Toggenburg cross) are great goats, very affectionate and loving. If you sit on the ground they climb on you and give kisses.. yes, even at their huge size now they do it.
Orca is most likely all Nubian.. or at least mostly Nubian. Anyways, she has always been louder, more demanding and not as affectionate. I couldn't cuddle her like the other two. She always walked off on her own while the other two stood together.

While you can play with the udders on Hilary and Spinky (they squat their legs and wag their tails when you do this) Orca will kick and bleat and throw a fit if you touch her near her udder or belly. I've been trying to get them used to me touching them there or on their feet so as I'd not have as many issues when they grew up.
Orca has always had a fit.

Well now my problem is.. she is getting aggressive. I walk my goats twice a day up our lane and into the pasture to graze a bit. She has lately been standing on her hind legs and throwing her ears back and head butting me repeatedly. And it's very painful.. not playing at all. The other two will sometimes head butt but they always throw their ears back and then instead of smacking into me they stop and lower their heads into my leg and press gently. I've never played the head game with them to encourage this but from the time they were little if they did this game and hurt me I'd press very firm on their heads with my hands and push them so they would loose footing. I guess I was just figuring it would show them I was stronger and they weren't in charge. It seems to have worked with the two that are good goats.. but this Orca.. she just gets angrier.

She gets aggresive as soon as she is released from the pen, usually butts me in the belly, or when I am bending over getting hay she has come up and put her head down and then WHAM into my chin. It hurts!
Any ideas why she would be behaving this way? Any ideas on behavior modification or am I stuck with a Bad goat?

A Moment Of Pure Unadulterated PANIC

I spent the morning taking pet photos for a local rescue fund raiser. When I left this morning I noticed Parker, my youngest cat, wasn't sitting at the door where she normally is when I leave. She meets me when I come home and says goodbye at the door when I leave. I thought it odd but thought, maybe she's just upstairs sleeping. WHen I came home, still no Parker. Checked every room in the house. No Parker. Went outside and called and called. No Parker. Drove around the neighborhood and still no sign of her. I finally found her, after a pitiful cry, in the basement. She had somehow managed to wedge herself between the hot water tank and the dryer and couldn't find a way to jump out. After moving the metal beast and many cobwebs later she's finally sleeping on the sofa, oblivious to the fact she almost gave Mom a heart attack.

The lil houdini herself with her snuggle buddy...
