Summer 2006: Aww, What A Rush. I will start with Download. What a fucking weekend. The weather was off the chain, so warm you could barely stand it. This was a bit much at parts (baking in a tent with a hangover trying to sleep). Too many idiots yelling "TIMMAY!" every thirteen seconds and every English fuckbag ever constantly saying the god damn word "Download". Every sentence any of their Queen asses said contained the word "Download". No joke. The first night was hilarious, basically just scoping the place out (while pished, obviously). Lev and I got onstage and sand Them Bones whilst being pelted with bottles and swear words, but unlike the fake ass marks that were before us we thrived on the hatred and spat it right back at them (literally, probably). The next day I woke up in the tent and thought I was in hell. Unwashed, hungover, *roasting*, thirsty etc etc. Was horrible. Then I went to see Clutch, then Deftones then Tool! The more I got into the bands the more I forgot about how shit I was feeling, so I actually enjoyed them pretty good. The Saturday was such a breath of fresh air as Lev and I decided to fuck it and check out the showers. There was a queue about 50 minutes long but by god I cannot express enough love for those showers. They weren't that gross and they made me feel like a brand new person. I was actually fresh and excited to see some bands! Started drinking about 10 AM to go and see Down at 11 AM (Second time I'd seen Down in two weeks too). After that I drank some more and then seen "Alice In Chains"~! It was good, but I got a little too pished and the memory's a bit off. Was weird, as expected and they were put on a horrible place on the bill, but fuck it. I've seen them and you've not (Except Macaroon Boy). Don't think I seen any other bands until "Korn" came on. Jon Davis was ill and they were gonna do the set with guest vocalists from the other bands. Corey from Slipknot came on and done some songs which should have been excellent but neither he nor any of the other guest vocalists knew any of the words or anything. It was awful, and the crowd let them know it. They walked off stage without saying a word. Then Metallica played and at some point early on during their set I pished in a pint cup but fumbled it and ended up pissing on some asshole's leg. I ran for the hills as soon as I seen the look on his face, and I'm not sure what I done for the rest of their set. Can't remember much about the Sunday at this stage other than sitting under some tent with Smith drinking beer before watching In Flames and later Cradle Of Filth. Tried to see Prodigy but the tent was so full they weren't letting anyone near it. Then GNR played. Fucking excellent, most perfect way to cap off an amazing weekend. I'm sure I've missed out shitloads from this but I can't be bothered. Went to Alton Towers with Holly, JR, Hudson, Lev and his girlfriend. Got to ride the Oblivion twice in 10 mins. I didn't have any sleep and was deleriously tired by the end of it. Hollar If Ya Hear Me!

I propose we go next weekend (14/7). I believe it costs £50 and the bus leaves at like 1 AM on the Saturday morning (Friday night, really) and we get back for about midnight on Saturday. Taping it in a giant arena with the fucking Smackdown stage and a bunch of people who came to the show to see the likes of Batista and Kurt Angle is not a good idea. You must run much, much smaller venues and sell tickets that are for exclusive ECW shows in order for this to be a success.
