Trivia [11 Oct 2006|10:56pm]
Today Annr and I did a trivia game. It was pretty good. We pretended to be Mo and Kathy. Which leads to my question, because I'm curious...

Please comment if you know who Fannie Lou Hamer is and tell me everything you know about her. Or you can just guess. These comments will be screened so feel free to put whatever comes to mind when you hear her name and so y'all can't cheat. Please do not google her or otherwise cheat. Please be honest about what you know.

Thank you,
Mo

I made a binder I made a binder! And it works! Now to improve upon it!

(It is strange how much more comfortable a custom fit binder is.)

I've come to realize I really hate hearing the question "How do you identify [in terms of gender]?" I especially hate the question when people ask me and ask about pronouns and then say no matter what I had said they probably wouldn't remember to be respectful.

I'm starting to think (after two years of thinking) maybe I need to transfer. This is heightened due to:
Gender dysphoria
Lack of classes I can take that can contribute toward anything
The fact that I'm working toward goals I'm not entirely happy with because I need to finish a major in 4 years
How fucked up class size and opportunities are getting

Sometimes I feel like I'm FTMTFTMTFTMTFTM...and so on and so forth.

I don't think I'm really FTM because even though I identify as male and identify with FTMs no one seems to use that term in the same way as I do. At all.

Part of my life has been spent as a female. Not exactly the beginning, not exactly the latest bit. I look more like a female than a male to most people. I will always legally be female. I cannot remove this from my identity and what's more I don't entirely mind it. I am both and I am neither. I spent a long period trying to beat gender, get away from one box or another and I sorta quit but I think I wanna try again because trying to achieve something I can never reach is getting old.

If you aim at nothing you're sure to hit it everytime.

I just want all my pieces to fit together.

I wish people could see me how I see myself. I wish I could explain myself. And do it concisely.

I wish I could fucking deal with my identity and that I could get out of being stuck and get back into the world.

Gender...FUCK!

Alright. I got two questions. Well themes of questions.

1. Why are all boys' ties clip on or zip up or otherwise fake? Even when packaged with shirts intended for teenage boys? Don't boys know how to tie ties anymore? I learned to tie a tie when I was 5. My sister learned when she was 9. Why can't 12 year olds?  Also how hard is it to have someone tie the tie the one time and then loosen and tighten the tie as necessary?

2. Am I the only person who sometimes misses humidity? Like forreals. My skin and eyes get all dried out without humidity. And I get colds and stuff. Even lil changes like New England summers vs. St. Louis summers.

So I know I'm probably late at picking up on this, but I've realized cartoons in the New Yorker consist of only about 4 illustrations with different "witty" phrases underneath. I picture BEK or P.C. Vey thinking of some new phrase and then deciding "Oh yeah, I could use the middle aged couple in bed for that one" or "Time for the businessman at  a desk!"

Sorry to make another post so soon. But I just realized I'm a dumbass. I don't know why I'm submitting to threadless when I didn't even know "I'd buy it" wasn't a 5+gonna buy but something totally different. Ugh.

I love when lazy people call me lazy [02 Aug 2006|06:00pm]
So today I was going to bike home in the 110 degree weather after work. Then I thought, maybe I will wait around and see if it cools off a bit. Then out of nowhere comes this nearly-hurricane thunder/rain/wind business! Glad I decided to get some ice cream at herrells. So then I decide since there is thunder, wind, and rain, perhaps it would be best if I didn't bike home and instead took the bus and put my bike on the front. Then when I'm on the bus this guy says "I always thought people who bike in and then go home on the bus were lazy"I always thought people who bike in and then go home on the bus were lazy )Yeah. Because you obviously bike all the time Mr. Sitting-on-the-bus man. I mean, you're biking home right now and getting hit by lightning and blown over by a gust of wind and unable to brake because you have an old fashioned bike with old fashioned brakes that don't work so well when your rims get wet, aren't you. Ugh. Asshole.

I didn't say that though. I said, "It's bad weather and my brakes don't work very well."

Then this guy tells me about how when he used to bike when he was a kid he paid close attention to how long it would take so he could get home on his bike. Because he can predict this crazy storm that came in out of nowhere. He also gave me all this old man crap about how he only had 3 speeds on his bike and he had to go up so many hills. I told him only one of my gears works so I have one speed.

That speed is fuck you. (I didn't say that part.)

Is it copyright infringement to sell something that has a standard font like Times New Roman without giving credit? I would assume it is because books always say their fonts and where they came from, but it doesn't seem like a thing people worry about.

Today I used adobe illustrator at school. I've never used it before and I was surprised at how easy it is to use. I still have a lot to learn though.

What do people know about this new system with the ads? Are the ads annoying? Are the services worth it?

Names [15 Jun 2006|08:31pm]
Ok. So...
The ideal name would start with a "Mo" sound so I can still go by Mo. Doesn't necessarily have to be a name I would go by all the time (I have never gone by Mary Elisabeth so I can deal with this). I would prefer it be a name that I wont cringe if I do need to hear it and that wont take half an hour to sign on legal documents (signing Mary Elisabeth as a first name makes your hand cramp). Additionally I would like the name to be one or more of the following:
-gender ambiguous
-gender ambiguous and male leaning
-kind of a pansy male name that might be used on every newborn girl in the next five years

Names I have been thinking about, other than Moseph
-Oliver: This might have been my name were I born with different chromosomes. My mother is not happy with this name however. I don't get it. Also Rachel doesn't like it because she used to like a boy named Oliver and it is creepy.
-Ellis: This name has been criticized as being too much SSSSS with my last name (which I'm not writing because this is an open post). I'm thinking I might make my name M____ Ellis to be like Mary Elisabeth though.
-Eliot or Elliot might be in there with Ellis too.
-Marion: Some people believe this is kind of a girly name but really it is a boy's name. Also the original name of John Wayne. Additionally may have the root Marius which means MANLY. So yeah, Maid Marion hooked up with Robin Hood. But let's not forget about LL Cool J as Marion on In the House. This name is getting closer to the top of my list all the time.
-Marius might also be a possibility.
-Mosiah: Apparently actually a name. Unfortunately a mormon name. I don't understand, therefore, why it is Marcus Garvey's middle name. May be a variant of Moses or Messiah.
-Micah: Only problem with this name is there is a tranny smithie who already has it. Snaps.
-Morris: Kinda so English you could die. My mom calls me this sometimes. But not as much as Moseph, Moses, etc.

Keep in mind
I intend to live my life as much as possible as a genderqueer no-hormone trannyboy who may or may not get top surgery and doesn't always pass that well. I want a name that wont get me beaten up.

Love,
Moseph (?)
PS. Does anybody know if there are communities on lj for trannies trying to change names?

long time no me [12 Jun 2006|05:45pm]
So Kacy nudged me because I haven't comment in 34 weeks. (Forserious, 34 of them). This is because I don't know how I feel about lj these days. It just got too crazy. I think I may solve this by changing usernames at some point but I don't know. (Additionally I haven't checked lj in nearly 34 weeks).

On the subject of name changing, as some of you may know I have been thinking about changing my legal name. After ruling out name after name I'm thinking more and more about Moseph. So...

Moseph. Acceptable legal first name? Or totally ridiculous?

I would love to hear your thoughts about the name Moseph, cruel though they may be. I have googled the name and found that other people use it. In some cases I think I get Mosephs that should be Josephs but others are the same person listed too numerously on various websites to be a typo.

Thank you,
Mo
PS Sorry I haven't been livejournaling. It's something about computers and nothing to do with all of you.

I learned a new word today from GaberDabe. Cisgender. I'm sure I'm the last trans person in the world to have heard of it. I think I like it. How do you all feel about it? This cracks me up--->"Some have perhaps jokingly commented that if trans people can be called trannies for short, then cisgender people can be called 'cissies'."
