Here are the (untagged & full-sized) HQ versions of the 15 SPN 4.01 promo images previously released by SFUniverse.

SPOILERS FOR SUPERNATURAL 4.01! )

ONLY ONE MONTH TO GO. :D

Safe for these images I'm mostly unspoiled for SPN and would prefer to keep it that way. Thanks!

» Thank you so much for the postcard, [info]spiritcrow! :)

» Ooh, my TVMerch order arrived! The Just Begun Disappearing mug is AWESOME. You pour in your coffee and wham, Dean and Sam appear. *glee!* I like the Two Brothers mug even better, though. The artwork is amazing, I adore it so much, and the mug is BIG. I like to think that to mean that the Supernatural crew member who designed the mug is as much of a coffee lover as I am. *g* I also ordered issues two to four of the Supernatural magazine. Sadly they didn't have issue one anymore. :(

» I didn't know how much I'd missed Burn Notice until I watched 2.01 and it took less than a minute before things went boom. Bwee! Oh Michael Westen, I kind of ♥ you.

» If you're running Windows XP you might want to back up your data today. Microsoft is forcing an update to Service Pack 3. Yes, even if you have disabled automatic updates it will install quietly in the background. A lot of people have reported serious problems with SP3 but Microsoft doesn't seem to care. There's a Windows Service Pack Blocker Tool Kit, though, which should keep Windows from installing the service pack.

» Raise of hands: who's watched this awesomely fun scene (YouTube link, scene starts at 0:39) from the Doctor Who season finale over ten times? *waits, sits on hand* Uh yeah, me neither. *halo*

» Jared and Jensen will be at Comic Con in two weeks, and they'll be showing part of the S3 gagreel. (info) On the one hand, woohoo! On the other, I really, really hope people will remember that some of us prefer not to know everything about the gagreel before we get the DVDs. In other words, LJcuts, pretty please? ♥

» It is physically impossible for me to vote in The 2008 SyFy Portal Genre Awards. PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE. No one should ever be made to choose between Jensen Ackles and David Tennant in the Best Actor category. I REFUSE.

I'm amused that John Barrowman is up for Best Actor as well, though. I adore the guy. His singing voice makes me weak in the knees and I'm sure he's a brilliant theater actor. He's one hell of a fabulous gay man for sure. But he sucks at TV. I seriously laugh every time he attempts to emote anything resembling sadness. So really, what were they thinking?? (Uh-oh, deja vu. Have I ranted about Barrowman's TV acting skillz before?)

» The amount of false facts I heard about IP addresses lately makes my head hurt. Check your facts before you go and spread info that's completely and utterly wrong! For every false fact one person spreads there's 10 others who see and believe it, then turn around to spread it in turn. Which makes me want to bang my head against a solid surface. :(

» I hear some idiot of a judge ordered YouTube to hand 12 TB (!) of logfiles over to Viacom. So if you've ever uploaded or even watched something that Viacom (MTV, Paramount Pictures) owns the copyright to, you may receive a nice little legal notice asking you for some nice (but not little) amount of $$ at some point. (It'll take them a while to wade through the mass of logs.) Why YouTube even logs the IPs of watchers is beyond me, frankly. Privacy, whassat? Ugh.

eta. This article says: A representative for Viacom e-mailed me to say that I'm overreacting. "We have no ability (and absolutely no desire) to use this data to sue end-users," he argued, pointing out that all discovery documents in the case are bound by this confidentiality agreement [link]. I remain skeptical but we'll see how it goes.

In any case, it's a massive invasion of privacy that Google allowed to happen by collecting all that data. The things Google knows about its users are very attractive to all kinds of companies. I wonder who's next in line to sue. :/

» On the upside, the weather today doesn't make me want to die! AWESOME. Wednesday and Thursday were hellishly hot. It helps that it's Friday too, of course. *grabby hands at weekend*

» eta. There's no new BigBangs today because it's the 4th of July in the US, and the rest of the world goes bzuh?

Oh my god, the ferretcam is the best thing ever! It's a live feed of a ferret with its baby. The little one is barely a week old. Mama ferret was sleeping earlier while baby ferret crawled all over her. Mama ferret woke up eventually, yawned hugely a few times, then chased baby ferret around licking its butt. Hee! They're both asleep again right now.

How am I supposed to get any work done in the face of such cuteness? I can't stop watching!

Thanks to [info]derryderrydown for the link. ♥

How much do I love that Jared Padalecki, who is running around with a black Amex (aka The Centurion Card, or even cooler, The Black Card) in his pocket, owns things that look this battered.

*draws hearts*

Also, hands! in his pockets! bwee! (Why yes, I am secretly twelve.)

You may have heard that there's a big new release of Firefox, namely 3.0, but are afraid to install it because you've also heard that there is no going back to Firefox 2.x afterwards. The solution is called Firefox 3.0 Portable. Because it is designed to work from a memory stick, it doesn't interfere with your FF2 installation. You simply choose a folder on your hard drive to install it to, and the installation is contained within that folder. All you have to do then is copy your FF2 profile over into your FF3P folder (there's a How To on the previously linked site) and you're good to go. FF3P is great for testing purposes (what's new? which of your Can't Live Without extensions work with FF3? et cetera) or having your fully equipped Firefox always with you, be it at home, a friend's place or work.

By the way, just because FF3 says an extension doesn't work with it doesn't mean there isn't a version for FF3 yet. Mozilla approves all extensions before they're offered over their site. To make sure check the extension developer's homepage (usually linked to from their listing at Mozilla). As an example: TabMixPlus is one of the extensions that's already available for FF3--just not at Mozilla.

It must be such a beautiful, quiet day for everyone not in SPN fandom. I have been frantically indulging in self-therapy all day.

Step one: ice cream. Nom!
Step two: buy things you don't really need but make you happy. Whee, SPN merchandise!
Step three: do something nice for other people. Who wants a charity v-gift from me? Purple Rhino FTW! There's 4 3 2 1 left. All gone!
Step four: JAREDCAKES. <3 I can has previews:

17 full sized pictures under the cut! )

If we make it through the coming week, I think we'll be fine. (Hah, I just had the amusing mental image of fandom collectively rocking back and forth.) HANG IN THERE EVERYONE.
