» It is physically impossible for me to vote in
The 2008 SyFy Portal Genre Awards. PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE. No one should ever be made to choose between Jensen Ackles and David Tennant in the Best Actor category. I REFUSE.
I'm amused that John Barrowman is up for Best Actor as well, though. I
adore the guy. His singing voice makes me weak in the knees and I'm sure he's a brilliant theater actor. He's one hell of a fabulous gay man for sure. But he
sucks at TV. I seriously laugh every time he attempts to emote anything resembling sadness. So really, what were they thinking?? (Uh-oh, deja vu. Have I ranted about Barrowman's TV acting skillz before?)
» The amount of false facts I heard about IP addresses lately makes my head hurt. Check your facts before you go and spread info that's completely and utterly wrong! For every false fact one person spreads there's 10 others who see and believe it, then turn around to spread it in turn. Which makes me want to bang my head against a solid surface. :(
» I hear some idiot of a judge
ordered YouTube to hand 12 TB (!) of logfiles over to Viacom. So if you've ever uploaded or even watched something that Viacom (MTV, Paramount Pictures) owns the copyright to, you may receive a nice little legal notice asking you for some nice (but not little) amount of $$ at some point. (It'll take them a while to wade through the mass of logs.) Why YouTube even logs the IPs of watchers is beyond me, frankly. Privacy, whassat? Ugh.

This article says:
A representative for Viacom e-mailed me to say that I'm overreacting. "We have no ability (and absolutely no desire) to use this data to sue end-users," he argued, pointing out that all discovery documents in the case are bound by this confidentiality agreement [link]. I remain skeptical but we'll see how it goes.
In any case, it's a massive invasion of privacy that Google allowed to happen by collecting all that data. The things Google knows about its users are very attractive to all kinds of companies. I wonder who's next in line to sue. :/
» On the upside, the weather today doesn't make me want to die! AWESOME. Wednesday and Thursday were hellishly hot. It helps that it's Friday too, of course. *grabby hands at weekend*
» eta. There's no new BigBangs today because it's the 4th of July in the US, and the rest of the world goes
