11:44 pm - Fandom Notes/Etc. To New Adventures of Old Christine: Why do I keep getting pulled into new shows? I used to fear that I only had Ugly Betty and would go to pieces if it died. Now I have like 8 shows I'm semi- to completely obsessed with. And why the bloody hell isn't your fandom bigger? To Ugly Betty: I can haz cast pics or new promo nao? To In Plain Sight: WTF was that finale? I love you, but I don't love family!angst. Where was the Mary/Marshall? To Harry Potter: FUCK YOU, WB. ~~~~~~ Going back to campus this Saturday or Sunday. Finally will have my own room the whole year, so so long as my roommates aren't screamers like some of the last ones, this last year should be fantastic. But I really need a job because I really, really need a new laptop. In other news, people are coming to rip our our old driveway and put down a new one starting tomorrow. So everything in our garage is either in the basement or outside the sliding glass doors in the backyard. The neighbors propbably think we're crazy. Current Mood: fangirly

11:21 pm - *Iz Back From Canada* So, recap. Ish. Monday: Got up, spent an hour looking for my parents digital camera only to find my dad had already put it in the car, took off. Drove for hours, saw a ladder on the road, finally arrived at cheap hotel in Brampton, just outside Toronto. Asked desk lady about Indian restaurant, was told it was "two blocks away". After walking for half an hour, began to disagree with her, so mom and I waited outside a store with like a drug deal or somethine happening in the parking lot for nearly an hour while my dad walked all the way back and got to the car. Drove to a different bloody Indian restaurant and came back, where I discovered New Adventures of Old Christine. More on that later. Tuesday: Stopped by Wal-Mart and then took all manner of city streets into Toronto and ate sandwiches at someplace called either Falafel House or House of Falafel. Got into small-but-two-room hotel, immediately had to switch rooms because first one had no sofa bed. Went out and got tickets to The Second City and We Will Rock You. Walked around the city and decided I really fucking want to live there, especially if McCain wins this election. Used internet, swam in pool, etc. Wednesday: Took subway to the Royal Ontario Museum, walked around there until felt like was going to die. Got stuffed wolf who still needs a name. Went to The Second City- saw Barak to the Future which only actually talks about Obama the first 5 seconds and is effing hysterical. Thursday: Stood in line for a fucking hour to go up the CN Tower, but holy shit the glass floor was freaky and there's an area that's just cement floor and like wire cage walls and your ears pop on the elevator ride. Went to see We Will Rock You which is AMAZING in an "I wanted to stay in Toronto and see it again the next day" kind of way. Seriously, guys. Damn. Friday: Left Toronto, ran into helltraffic on the QEW. Spent like two hours in the rain trying to locate fucked-up alternate route, but finally did and got into Niagara. Learned that night never to try to drive anywhere near Clifton Hill while my dad rode around while my mom and I rode the Skywheel. The Millenium Wheel/London Eye totally PWNS it, but we saw fireworks on it, which was like once-in-a-lifetime, so. Saturday: Got these pass things, and went first on Maid of the Mist, then on Journey Behind the Falls. Got extremely wet which made up for wanting to die froms standing in lines again. Then went to The Butterfly Conservatory, outside of which my purse strap broke. Oh yes. I now have a new purse. But a butterfly landed on me. So day did not suck. Sunday: Went home. Ran into surprisingly little traffic. Was as uneventful as it sounds. The End. Current Mood: content

07:50 pm - One day I will post multiple times a month. . . I sent in an application for on-campus employment, and managed to hold back from writing "PLEASE JUST HIRE ME" across the front of it. Here's hoping they get it early enough that I can actually get put somewhere. Apparently all student jobs pay $7.40 an hour, which means if I could fit in an average of like 10 hours a week, I could totally afford a new laptop by November. Assuming I don't spend any of it. Hmm. Well, I'm sure I'll be able to work more than 10 hours most weeks. So. Going to see Irene's new apartment and kitten tomorrow! ^_^ And to have sushi, apparently. Ooh. And then on. . .Monday, probably, we're going to Niagara Falls and then Toronto. With maybe an excursion to Canada's Woderland. Because we have to get everything in before I go back to school in 2 1/2 weeks, lol. I have become such a Mary/Marshall shipper (In Plain Sight), it's embarrassing. 2 eps left D: At least we should be getting promos/spoiler pics/etc. for my fall shows soon. 11:26 am - Oh hai there, I'm alive! 1. Premieres of Monk and Psych on Friday! I've also totally gotten into USA's In Plain Sight. God bless the network that helps me survive the long summer. 2. Going to the Shakespeare Festival in Jackson, MI on Saturday with my dad. All's Well that Ends Well and Julius Caeser. My mom's coming too, just not going to the plays. We'll stay overnight in Jackson then head down to Fort Wayne, IN to visit my grandparents. 3. Also traveling probably to Toronto and maybe to Niagara Falls like the second week of August. We're hoping to see a play. I almost went to see Avenue Q in London. I'm happy I went to see Wicked instead, but Q will be playing while we're there. So we'll see. 4. Never did manage to get a job, which is why my life is so boring and I post so rarely. Hopefully, travel and senior year at SVSU will help me actually get a life. 5. I was at the mall with Jessica the other day and while we were in the food court, I saw a guy try to order a small french fry. From Taco Bell. Current Mood: hungry Current Music: Food Network

01:29 am - So, I was going to try posting through Twitter. . . My life is boring. That's me excuse, lol. However... *If you haven't seen the movie Network, you totally need to. I saw it at the art museum nearby as introduced by a newspaper collumnist (who may be getting my volunteer work at said paper, but that's a story for another day) who does the whole opinion/collumnist thing. Seeing some of the stuff they talk about in there is creepy. 1976 and it's set in a world where news spews the corprate message, terror and torture make for good tv, and oh, by the way, there's a war everyone hates. And the end, dude, seriously. *Obama's got the Democratic nomination. I'd like him to take Hilary as his running mate if only because it gives him the best shot against McCain in terms of power voting. Also because I want to look at all those people who thought one was a saint and the other a horrible excuse for a person and LAUGH. I'm just glad this is over. Time for us to attack the OTHER SIDE now, plz? *On a much less serious note, THE RED WINGS WON THE STANLEY CUP! Hell to the yes. Shoulda been last game, but whatever.
