I don't think this was ever posted. Waiting for this year's prom photos to upload, so I suppose I should post SOMETHING.

Bret- (referring to a cute girl with a blonde pixie haircut) She worked at the Tavern. You tried to hit on her one night but I stopped you.
Wedge- (after turning to look at her) Why did you stop me?!?
Bret- Because you were wasted. You would have fucked it up.
I love how he looks after me. We have to take turns being the "responsible adult" for the night....it's a give and take relationship.

Every year my neighbors set off firecrackers well before and after Independence Day. Like the gunfire wasn't enough, now I have to put up with the random popping and tiny explosions.
Now, I like setting things on fire just as much as the next guy, and exploding things falls into that destructive category, but these pathetic firecrackers do nothing for me.
nothing but make me wish for a real explosion

I've been on another Chris Seamans production this week. This time we're doing a short film called "Eschatograph". We're currently behind schedule but things are looking good. I've also been getting up at 7am for the past three days, one thing that I never thought I'd do again.
The crew that Chris hired ended up leaving within hours of getting to Philly. He's now working with a skeleton crew of two. However, the rest of us are picking up the slack and helping out where we can. Lighting....makeup....running....light switch operator.
Freddy is playing my brother, his sister-in-law, Tatiana, is playing my friend, Jim is playing the psycho serial killer. Me? I'm playing a 20-something psychic with a Polaroid that tells the future. As weak as the plot sounds it's actually pretty good.
In any case, I'm having fun with the old Car Crash Club guys. I haven't seen many of them since Blood Theatre ended in August. I'm being paid in food so it helps that I get along with the cast and crew.
The short is only going to be about 14mins. Chris is going to submit it to festivals and I'm pushing for the Philly Gay and Lesbian Film Festival.
I'll post the film when I can. Photos of Raptor-Man to come!

I got very drunk after work last night and passed out at home. But, for some odd reason, I woke up this morning at 6:04. Just in time to say "I'm 26". Then the clock changed to 6:05 and I was 27. I put on Generation X's "Kiss Me Deadly" for the changeover. Billy Idol's voice was the first thing I heard at age 27.
Then I went back to bed until noon.
I had to find things to do until my father, step-mom, and sister showed up for my birthday dinner. I wandered slowly around town then visited Aaron at Starbucks. He gave me a free coffee, but forgot it was my birthday. I then went to visit Rob at Crash Bang Boom across the street and we ended up talking for 2 hours. I got a huge birthday hug from him as I left the store.
Aaron got off of work, ate pizza with me, then took me on a car ride into University City. Just as we came back to South Philly my father called to say he was on his way into town.
We went to Coquette and were served by Bobbi. (I ate way too much.) Then hurried over to Cirque du Soleil to catch the show. We were a bit late but in time for the first act. The show was breathtaking! I was amazed!
Now, I'm at home waiting for Gabe to come over. He's promised me more birthday merrymaking.
Ah, he's here!

I got an offer today to travel with the circus. I'm not sure I can afford to go with them but I'm going to see if I can make this work.
I mean, COME ON! What child HASN'T dreamed of running away and joining the circus?
The next stop is Chicago, and that means I get to see my step-brother Scott.
I've already made friends with both the temporary and permanent crew. I've gotten some offers for apartment sharing during the hop across America. There's even a cute redhead that I've got my eye on.
We'll see. I'll have to crunch some numbers, but it just might work out.

I just got hired at Coquette about an hour ago. I'll start on tuesday, training with the last guy I fucked and only recently realized was him. I love this restaurant, it's small and fun. And I'll be making cash tips, so that's a MAJOR plus.
I got promoted to team leader at Cirque du Soleil. I get a pay raise but I'm not sure what it is going to be.
The next Bistro show will open the second weekend in June and the auditions are Saturday and Monday. I'm excited about this one but I have not yet read the script. I need to work on my monologue tomorrow.
Jim's coming to see the current show on the 24th. He's got a stage reading coming up that I should go to as I missed his last show.
Today was so nice and warm. Summer's coming!

The windstorm yesterday blew a limb off of a tree into my grandparents yard. It also blew a chair off of our roof onto the neighbor's roof. The chair punched a hole in the aluminum so Bret decided he had to get it out before we got charged to repair the hole.
First he had to climb out through the kitchen window, and climb down to the lower roof.

Then he had to pull the chair out of the roof.

Getting rid of the evidence.

He made it back in the window with only minor injuries.

Started work at Cirque du Soleil yesterday. I was late today and got bumped. Tomorrow I will be early.
I did accomplish something, though. I got some plants for the apartment from the Wilmington Flower Market. Basil, Rosemary, Dill, and Arugula. I also got a little aloe plant for burns. (My roommate tends to grab hot items while momentarily distracted...it may save his life one day.)
I'm heading out to Coquette for cheap martinis. I can't really afford it but I need some interaction. Or do I need a drink? Either way it's pathetic. Yet here I go.

I have not written anything in a while. My mood seems to change with the weather and it's been chilly and overcast for a few days.
Last night, Bret took me to see the Birthday Massacre at the Electric Factory as an early birthday present. They were the sideline band for MSI. The crowd was intense. I have never been packed so tightly for an event, or for anything, in my entire life. I felt like a little sardine. There were so many people crowded together at the front of the stage that it was almost impossible to move. My back is sore today but my legs are fine. Bret brought up a good point about that this morning.....we weren't using our legs to hold ourselves up. The crowd was doing it for us. We just had to move with the crowd and stay upright.
It sounds scary but it was amazing. I felt so safe and secure around these kids. When someone fell, there would be at least three sets of hands reaching down to pick up the fallen. I surprised myself that I never felt claustrophobic.
Birthday Massacre was amazing, as I expected they would be. I love their haunting melodies and I think the lead singer is adorably cute. They're Canadian, and that's quite cute in itself. They played "Happy Birthday" right away, which made Bret happy. Of course, they only have two albums, so they were limited on what they were going to play.
The second song of MSI's set ripped Bret and I apart. He flew backwards into the crowd as a mash pit broke out and I was shoved closer to the stage. A very cute girl stuck with me for a bit and danced. When I looked around for B she asked me if I was ok and if I needed to leave. I smiled and informed her that I was "looking for my brother". Unfortunately, cute girl had a boyfriend of some sort that began hanging all over her.
I eventually found B before the show was over. After the concert we went to Little Pete's, a 24 hour diner, and I had my favorite sandwich EVER. We met Gabe at the apartment and he ended up spending the night.
Speaking of that angel, Monday night Gabe came over and let himself in with his set of keys. It was the first time he'd done that and I didn't know he was coming over. Seeing him walk into the apartment like he lived there gave me such a great feel of family. Like he belongs here.
The three of us went to Morning Glory for brunch. I'm on at the bistro tonight and the boys are seeing Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I saw the show on Wednesday and I'm excited to hear what they think.

Yet again, Bret and I drank too much before going to Shampoo.
Yet again, I have no idea how we got home alive.
We chugged a litre of gin between the two of us then decided that it was the right time to head to Shampoo and dance. I couldn't get into the club at first but soon got in on someone's guest list. He fell asleep shortly after we got in and I decided to wake him and leave. (Some kind soul informed me that my roommate was asleep, I hadn't noticed.)
I don't remember dancing. I don't remember the walk home. I sort of remember grabbing Bret's hand and running down the sidewalk. The next thing I recall was leaning over him and trying to wake him up. For some reason he was asleep on the sidewalk. A couple came to my aid, thankfully, and I got him home.
I really need to watch how much I drink before I go out.

It's now 5am and I can't sleep. I went to bed early but was woken up by some asshole yelling down the street. I'm not sure if he was yelling at anyone person in particular but he kept screaming "you fucking faggot" and then muttering about being across from the projects. I guess he could have been talking about the rainbow flag I've got flying from my window, but I doubt it.
Second night at the Bistro and the show went pretty well. I skipped a few lines but I don't think it affected the show much. I walked away with about $50 in tips, so I was happy.
I thoroughly confused one of the cast members when he found out that Tony and I had been married. All I was doing was hugging and singing to Tony, but I suppose it's strange for someone to see a broken up couple acting cordial to each other.
I really need to call Sallie Mae and get my student loans taken care of. I worry too much about repaying them and about how much I owe. What I SHOULD look into is going bankrupt and getting the loans wiped from my record. Not sure if I can do that but it's worth checking out.
Laurie just took a quick spin out to Florida to visit a friend and it's made me want to travel. I really don't have the money but I would like a holiday. Even a quick one. Maybe the visit to Gabe at the end of the month will help. A road trip seems exciting right about now.
A cure for insomnia? Anyone?
At least the internet is working tonight. That'll help.
