My journal has actually sorta been friends only for a while now because I had problems with people reading my journal and making stupid comments, so I decided I should probably get a pretty banner to celebrate this fact.

Anyways, here it is. Got a load of awesome new icons as well :) If you wanna be friends, just comment and Ill add you!

Way long and useless )

Ive been bored all day trying to get out of doing any revision, even tho I know I have to. Have managed to get through an entire disc of family guy though, and wasted hours of LJ. Bring on tomorrow.

On monday Im going to Ottery Tar Barrells. Yep once again, bring on the ppl crazy enough to carry round burning barrells of tar on their backs. Should be fun anyways.

Okies, Im bored up at uni. Finished all my work early, and now have an hour and a half in which to do nothing before my next lecture.
Seeing as Ellen [info]smilingplatypus so rudely tagged me, here we go...

Comment and I'll...
1. Tell you why I friended you.
2. Associate you with something - fandom, a song, a colour, a photo, etc.
3. Tell you something I like about you.
4. Tell you a memory I have of you.
5. Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
6. Tell you my favorite user pic of yours.
7. In return, you must post this in your LJ.

I hate mondays, theres always so much free time. On the plus side this week, I have no lectures on weds so I have more time in which not to do revision! Exams are in a couple of weeks timed and Im starting to get worried :(

So placement is going pretty well,  and Im starting to enjoy life in Cornwall.  Although the lack of internet access is starting to drive me slightly insane,  I am however coping.

Not really that much else has happened recently.  I have now decided I am completly insane but I turned down to tickets to go to Pilton (or Glastonbury festival, whatever everyone else calls it), so maybe I will get to go to go next year.  This year however, Im gonna sit and cry all weekend whilst my parents get to go for the second time in a row,  and will then send me really annoying texts talking about who they have seen and then think they know loads about bands theyve never heard of.
I was gonna go to t4 on the beach, seeing as its only like an hour away, but then I just checked and its £28 to see people such as Natasha Bedingfield so Im just not gonna bother.  There was this really cool thing in Brighton, and it had so many good up and coming indie bands and I really wanted to go, but theres no way that Id be able to get there.

Its the Great West Run on sunday, so Im going back to Exeter to help out, which sounds incredibly hectic but fun.  If anyone wanted to meet up that would be cool.

Anyways, Im gonna stop rabbiting on now,  even tho I probs wont make another entry for months.

I actually passed everything!!!

Got my results back today for the first term, and as you might be able to tell by the title, I managed to pass everything, which is always good.  Did quite badly on my sociology essay tho, apparently it doesnt actually contain any sociology.  In which case, the 36% I got for is just plain impressive.

This term is so short that Im having assesments already.  Ive got a assesment of my lab work tomoro which could ask questions on like any bone in the body, and every single bumpy bit on the bones.  And then Ive got in-class tests next week, which are worth 20% of each of my modules, so yay fun-ness.

http://i4.photobucket.com/albums/y122/Moobietron/bloc_party.jpg

So friday night was Bloc Party night, they were pretty amazing.  And it was a slow night for patients, so I got to see all the good songs, the prayer is really good live.

Next week, me and Jon are going to see the Automatic, and the View, so that should be pretty good, and Im starting to get excited about it now :)
Oh yeah, I got my uniform and film badge last week which is cool.  Im starting to get really excited about placement now.

For some reason, HTML completly hates me recently, and wont do anything I say, which sucks.

Today has been pretty awesome.
  • I met up with Charlotte and we had lunch in the long lounge, I ate so much.  It was really nice seeing her again, as I dont see her enough.
  • One of the guys I met last night at Pizza Hut (who also gave me a £4 tip on a £9 meal lol), came up to me in the Long Lounge and he was so lovely.  Its gonna be really nice having new people, especially as we wont be understaffed anymore, which means the rest of us get an easier time as well.
  • I bought both The View and Klaxons cds so yay, that should solve my music cravings for a while.  Tho, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah is out as well, just havent been into town to track that one down yet.
  • Buffy season 8 is out in March.  Instead of being another TV series, they're bringing it out in comic form, and I can't wait.  I  know thats kinda geekish but I cant help it.  Buffy helped me get through some of my teenage years and I love it, plus Joss Whedon is a legend!  Isnt he meant to be doing a version of Wonder woman or something?
  • Ive become completly addicted to watching Viva La Bam, he just does the most incredible things and somehow gets away with it.
  • I got a text from Jake :) Its funny that when you dont hear from someone for ages even the smallest amount of contact with them can make you happy.
  • Ive started to say wicked all the time now, which is just getting really really annoying...
  • Lastly, www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6yO0ofFfnM.

Ok, so my time at home wasnt bad. We went bowling which was funny as, coz I was losing badly, and after about 5 goes, I still only had a score of about 30. Somehow I then managed to get 4 spares, and a strike in a row, and the end ended up beating Jon.

Back to lectures today, so Im not really sure why Im sat typing this, instead of getting ready lol. Strange that today is also the day that I feel really ill.

I booked my tickets to go see my friends up in Sunderland, but Im really pissed off coz they put the taxes up, so in the end I had to pay nearly £50, which isnt bad but its £20 I wouldnt have had to pay if Id booked a couple of weeks ago.
Also, my parents decided to book a cheap caravan holiday in July in Perranporth, which Im not sure where it is, but is apparently the closest they could get to Truro. They were asking if I was going to come and stay with them in the caravan. Funnily enough I said no.

Merry Xmas

Belated merry christmas to everyone, hope you all had a good day.
Mine was interesting, but good. I met my Aunts new boyfriend for the first time, and he seems nice.
I had some wicked presents, my parents gave me a 8GB mp3 player, so I can now hold more than 40 songs :p I also got series 1 of Greys anatomy, so theres go the idea of me doing any work over the holidays, even tho I have so much work to do.

Welly [info]stevewelly gave me a paid account for xmas, so yay!

Yesterday was ok, its an 4 hour journey to Nottingham, so it was a long day. And everyone kept thinking that I was still at college which was a little annoying.
Today has been pretty boring, the only thing Ive done today is play handbells for people in the old peoples home, which was ok, considering I havent played for ages.

Hehe, I got bored, I was reading through my old journal entries and found these. They're cut just because of the sheer length.

Im home!!!

I got back on saturday night, my parents came and picked me up straight after work. Im still a little pissed about Pizza hut, I got made to host yet again, for 5 whole hours, and it was really quiet, so I was stood around for ages doing nothing coz there was literally nothing to do. Hopefully after xmas, I might be able to waitress all the time. Im working New Years Eve, as well now, because Tom was trying to get rid of one of his shifts, and Im just a sucker. New years is pretty boring anyway usually, my parents always go up to the square coz they have fireworks or something up there. Last year, I spent new years online in tears talking to one of my friends.

Since Ive come home my internet has been playing up, I cant get IE or firefox to work, only Opera, and MSN wont work either, that and the fact that my mobile is dead coz I left the charger down at uni has pretty much meant Ive been bored since Ive come home, just sleeping and watching CSI.

Tomorrow, Im going to Nottingham, and am probably gonna be there like the whole day, being bored. But my aunt has to come back all the way by herself, and she doesnt know that well where shes going, so I said Id go with her to keep her company, as I have like nothing to do. The best part is we get to leave at 6 in the morning, so I have to sleep over there tonight.

Im not really glad to be back in Somerset, I love it, and its part of my culture and everything, but it can be really boring, and theres not much to do. I think Im meeting up with my friends from college sometime, but thats about all Ive got planned, well that and the dentist woo! It'll be good to see my family tho, coz I havent seen them for ages.

I think thats quite enough for one day.

Yay. Im going home tomorrow, and I only have to clean my room, wrap my presents, and spend a lovely 5 hours working at Pizza Hut before that can happen.  Still hopefully, I should have been paid for the first time today, which is way overdue.  I plan to go out later, and spend some of my earnings, who cares if its xmas like next week.

I got the results for my exam yesterday  I got 38% which pissed me off majorly, coz I was one mark off passing.  Would have been nice to actually pass this one, but hopefully I can make up for it on the next exam in Jan.

I finally managed to get sucked into joining facebook, but I maintain that Im only on there to talk to St John Ambulance people, and I refuse to write a profile or upload a pic or anything, so at the moment, I look quite sad and lonely.  Think I have about 4 friends lol.

Have a great christmas everyone.

Exam next week, eek! Wait, make that, exam on thursday ahhh! I am so unprepared, and have barely done any revision yet for it.  If I manage to pass it will surely only be through sheer jammyness.

On friday, I went to a thing that my friend Sarah had organised for World AIDS day in the Lemmy.  It was really good, they had loads of bands playing, and there was a really nice atmosphere.  Its nice to be able to go and see bands playing rather than having to go clubbing which is what normally happens, not that I dont like clubbing.  Just most of the music is crap.

My job at Pizza Hut is going ok, cept they dont seem to actually want to let me waitress anytime soon.  They said I could, but then made me seat people and clean tables for the whole 3 hours, so I was not happy.  That and the fact that I didnt take my wallet yesterday, so I didnt have my bank details, so Im still not getting paid yet.  I've got a 5 hour shift next week, so I better get to do something other than hosting otherwise I will not be happy.  And they're making me do an orientation on tuesday night, but hopefully that shouldnt be bad coz Jon, my friend who lives next door to me, and Toby, have to go as well, so at least I'll have some company in all the boredom.

There seems to be a few really bad covers going around at the minute.  I just heard Lil Chris' new single this morning, which sounds strangely similar to Buzzcocks, ever fallen in love, cept its far far worse, and the words dont even fit properly.  Eric Prydz has managed to get his hands on Pink Floyd.  And Gwen Stefani literally mutilates the poor little goatherd, it is truely terrible.  To be honest, the sound of music, cheesy as it is, is a classic and should not be messed with.  And oh yeah, Girls Aloud are doing yet another cover.  It really does wind me up.

Another thing that pisses me off is that the Automatic are re-releasing a single they released like last year, just coz it didn't sell enough.  Just write some more songs.

Gah, now I have Lil Chris in my head!

Mwahaha Im updating. And I've stolen Ellens theme of things that made my week.

  • Getting my internet back again :)
  • Mimi, my housemate, only figuring out today that Wales is a seperate country, bless her.
  • Not being puked on at Freshers ball.
  • Getting a letter from someone Ive only met twice, just coz I said I didn't get many letters.
  • Standing in the cold for an hour, and not actually seeing Noel Edmunds
  • Meeting a famous guitarist (possibly)
Im now have a job at pizza hut, after a trial day on saturday.  I couldn't believe it, my first day, and one of my mates from back home walks in with her boyfriend (which is pretty weird considering home is an hour away).  Its hard work, but it seems to pay well, so then I'll have more money to spend on useless things, instead of using up all my student loan.

I've just started ringing church bells, and apparently Im suprisingly good, so maybe this is one of my natural talents.  Either that or beginners luck.  If you can even have beginners luck at that?

Yay! I start my first aid course, so then I can actually treat patients, instead of just having to write out forms for them, and taking histories and stuff. Woo!

Oh yeah, I've gotta watch Dead mans chest, as I never went to see it in the cinema, but I know my friend is very ashamed of me now and probably gonna disown me.

Carnival!

  <img src="http://www.bbc.co.uk/somerset/content/images/2006/10/02/22_293x440.jpg">

Woo! I'm so excited coz I'm going home for Castle Cary carnival today, and I can see all my family and stuff. I know I've only been away from them for a month, but I'm so happy to be going home.

I missed out on going to Ilminster carnival  last week because I can't afford to go home for every single carnival.

I guess there are quite a lot of people out there who don't really understand what I mean by carnival.  Basically, its like these huge floats covered in lightbulbs, and they have loads of people dancing on them and stuff.  Somerset is like the only place in the world where we have illuminated floats, esp in the winter, as some seaside towns have them in the summer to promote tourism and stuff.

I love Carnival, because its all about nostalgia.  Its the same routine every single year, always has been since I was a child.  We always go to the fair first.
And I get to see my cousins and grandparents again.

It looks like its going to be typically cold, hopefully not raining weather.

Anyway, Im away for the whole weekend, so I get back down to Exeter on sunday night, then I have lectures on monday.  Ooh fun.

Oh yeah, I found out where Im going on my hospital placement: Truro.  So I get to spend the whole of the summer down in Cornwall by the sea, and Matt, my housemate is gonna be down there again. It's gonna rock.

New Start

Ok, seeing as this is a new start, I'm making my journal public again, and hopefully I won't have to deal with the problems I got last time I did that.

I've been living down in Exeter for nearly 2 weeks now, and it's been the most amazing time of my life. I would recommend it to everyone, although the work part isn't quite as fun.

I'm living in a house with 5 other people, and we each have our own room- mine is on the top floor, then theres a shared kitchen/living room on the ground floor.

Last week was Freshers week for everyone on my course, and we had the usual boring talks, uniform fittings, and injections and blood tests. Great fun really.

This week is the actual Freshers week, so whilst everyone else in the university has been having fun, I've been having lectures. For this term, I have to study Psychology, Sociology, Anatomy and Physiology, and Evidence Based Practise, which is pretty cool, coz I didn't do most of those things at college. And up until Xmas, I have wednesdays and fridays off, so then I can do nothingwork.

I'm back at college, and I already I've started biting my nails off. I really need to stop.

When i went over Clarks village on monday, they had reduced loads of the Alice in Wonderland china, which is all really cute. So I bought like a plate, a bowl, a mug, and a little beaker with a straw, and Im gonna take it all to uni with me.

On the sad and depressing note, I found out I didnt get an offer from Cardiff Uni, so Exeter is now my first choice.

Thats all I have to say so yay!

The return of reality tv, woo!

We're suddenly swamped by reality tv again, so thought it was time for a good rant.

Celeb Big Bro-Theyre totally trying to torture Chantelle. Im just watching it now, and theyve delibrately set her a task where she has to sing one of the songs her 'band' sung. Haha.

Basically, they just took the ditziest Essex blonde they could find, and told her she has to pretend that shes famous, she cant even sing. Her band is called Kandyfloss, and theyre biggest single was called I want it right now.

Secondly, isnt there enough famous British people??? I mean, we have the whole of England, Wales, Scotland and NI, why do they need so many foreign people? There must still be some people left who havent done any reality tv yet.

There's clearly a very good reason why they put Jodie Marsh in the house though. Guessing theyre hoping for hot tub action, and she wants to be taken as a serious tv presenter. As if thats ever gonna happen.
After all the horny men in the country have seen you in the tiniest thong possible, theres not much chance of you being taken seriously.

Haha, Chantelles just started singing, and she cant sing at all, they're so gonna be onto her in a minute! Then she might leave, yay!

Interesting thought, wonder what Jodie Marsh is gonna do to show what she does? And Faria, what does she do? Apart from kiss and tell.

Shipwrecked-It was the first episode today, and I thought it was awesome. I kinda remember the old one, but it was like 5 years ago, and the first British reality TV show.

This time they have two different teams living on different islands, trying to compete for the new people who become shipwrecked. The team with the most people at the end win a load of money. Only I didnt find out which team she chose because my tape cut out just before she picked.
I love this, I mean, in the middle of winter, what better program to watch than one about lots of young people (i.e. guys) stuck on islands in the South Pacific.
Plus theres this totally awesome guy who everyone else hates, who hid there matches and they were searching for them into the dark until like midnight.

Im so not gonna be able to revise for exams with all this tv going on. Return of Desperate Housewives soon. Only I now have to work Weds night, so Im gonna miss half of them, which sucks.

Oops, totally forgot to say, HAPPY BIRTHDAY MATTY!!!

Last week, I had to do a SAT test, which was weird. Basically, the government have decided that our uni application system sucks, so they'll copy the americans and try their idea.
So, like 50,000 people are being made to do this year's SAT test.

I dont get the results till feb though, so wont be able to find out how bad Ive done for ages.

And Me and Rose finally bought our plane tickets, so in feb, we get to go up to Sunderland. Woo. So, its pretty settled now. And they only cost £21, plus it only takes like an hour, as opposed to 7 hours on the train.

Damn, have to go to bio now before I get told off for being late or something.
