There’s been a
I have been so very behind – so let’s start where i left off:
This was the actual anniversary of my birth. 8/9. We had many plans set up for the day. I woke up that morning on the comfy couch of Gia and Justin, still basking in the dorky squee-ness of meeting Mr. Cook the night before. Michelle and I were treated to the awesome i cup at a time coffeemaker by Justin and once we were all well caffeinated, the four of us set out for a wonderful Diner Brekkie. Mmmm. Diner. Afterwards, i dropped Meesh at the Ferry and drove home to
We then went over to Momma T’s house for the Travers Family Day gathering. It was nice seeing everyone, but i’m still a bit annoyed with most of them for blowing off Cassidy’s birthday party two years in a row. These are her VERY local family members. My dad lives in NY and came up for both of them. My old friends from HCRI even came to both and Mary Anna and KR as well. Mike’s cousin Lisa always does her best to be there too and she works those scary Nurses hours. Yet i feel obligated for some reason to go to the Family parties two/three a year when no one comes to the one thing we have. Sorry for that rant, but it’s been bothering me. I was also sad because Mike’s Aunt Deb is very ill with terminal brain cancer and we were not able to see her because she has gotten worse and could not join us.
Momma T and Laurie had a really nice birthday cake for me and after that, Mike, Cass and I left to go see Chris Trapper in Lowell, opening for Mr. Martin Sexton. What a GREAT place to see a summer night show. Mike was supposed to do merchandise for Chris, but Martin’s dude offered to do it so Chris told Mike to go enjoy the show. What a guy! :) we had some yummy food – Cass and i shared a salad and watermelon, salsa and chips and ice cream. Chris was fabulous as always. During his set we found SOMEONE (not pointing ANY fingers at Cass) needed a diaper change. As i’m in the ladies room changing here i can hear the show. I hear Chris ask “is anyone having a birthday tonight” or something close to that. I’m saying ‘MEEEEE!! Chris!! It’s meee! I’m in the bathroom!” Cassie starts saying “ma-ma’a birfdayyyyyy!”. We go back to our spot and i’m enjoying the last part of the song. Mike tells me he told Chris it was my birthday :) awww. We go wait for Chris afterwards and chat a bit, about his little boys, and Cass, and some people come by to get cd’s signed. He has no marker – and this is the day that Chris learns about RETRACTABLE SHARPIES!!! He is very excited about this, and tries to purchase it from me – to which i say no! :) (i did let him keep it and i have more to give him next week) He is always good to talk to and i’m glad he’s a part of our life.
We drove home and there were two thingies of flowers waiting for me. one was from Bad Patty :) and one was from my sister in law, Jenny. Jenny sent sunflowers because she said they were Bill's favorite. she sisn't know they were also my favorite :) she said they were 'ostentatious and loud, just like Bill". I love how he speaks through her to make this all a little easier on me.
it was a good day.
Day Threeeeeeeee!
Sunday morning i spent chilling with Mike and Cassie and returning emails and calls. We were planning to meet Mike with his Mom and sister Maggiano’s to have a Birthday Linner. (lunch/dinner) we had a really awesome meal and i’m glad we went. I had all my favorites and we sat in a really nice round booth. Cass had more fun just looking at all the old wedding photos around our table. After our meal, Mike had to run to work and i was going out to meet my friends

on_reserveand maa3120 for Birthday Bowling. I had not seen either of them in a long time and i was so happy to spend time with them. Upon meeting at Boston Bowl, Home of Free Socks, i was presented with some lovely fresh picked blueberries and a rocking card that made me feel special and loved. :) we three bowled and caught up on things and just spent time enjoying each other’s awesomness. Afterwards, we went to the Hancock Tavern, at delicious food and played the Keno game. I loved spending time with them. And thank you both for treating me to bowling and yum on my birthday weekend. For the first time in a long time that weird lonely feeling i had been fighting had disappeared. Thanks to everyone for all the well wishes, cards, gfts..everything. For a birthday i dreaded (with Bill being gone) it was a really good day.
