Spotted on beyondrealm's LJ:

You are Gackt.
Sensual, classic, artistic. You are Gackt.

Which J-rocker are you?
brought to you by Quizilla

Yay, I got Gackt too! (But of course! Nice to know there's no change there... ;3)

Been mega-hectic since Minami... would you believe I've been entertaining guests all of last week? Well, there was C's sis kat, and then Chibi J came over to stay (who's back on a break from her studies in Japan... she heads back on Wednesday). We had a great time! I must mention the fact that she brought her chipped PS2 with her, along with a copy of the new 3D Castlevania game (sweeeeet) and... *fanfare* BUJINGAI!! (the Taito game with added Gackt) It's loads of fun! Someone give it a western release, puh-lease~~! Quite instinctive to play, and you can run along walls a la Prince of Persia, as well as fly around to an extent. I had fun chopping up bamboo forests, too. ^-^ Gackt is superhuman, after all - he can do just about anything! LOL. The character isn't meant to be Gackt himself, actually... he's just modelled on him, voiced by him and had his motion capture done from him. Just to clarify!

On Saturday was the UK Web & Mini-Comix Thing. It was okay... did my portfolio workshop thing, and at one point I was pretty much inundated with activity! I was surprised how people actually wanted to talk to me... I think having my portfolios and pictures out helped somewhat, though. Took some T-shirts along... sold one! Better than selling none, and let's face it - ppl weren't going there to buy T-shirts, they were there to buy comics. Overall turn-out was so-so. Saw Ashe there with the Moonwolf table - apparently they booked up for the event at the last minute so we were surprised to see each other... guess he didn't realise I was one of the guests! I did a couple of doodles while I was there... nothing much though, wasn't like ppl were requesting anything. I gave one chibified character pic to a nice girl who bought the one VK-UK T-shirt we sold! She was asking me about chibi drawing techniques and suggested that I do some tutorials on the subject. Since I'm not that experienced in tutorials and I feel there's a lot of good 'how-to' reference out there already (I recommended Ben Krefta's book!), I just scribbled something and gave it to her. She was really chuffed! Incidentally, her table had a load of hand-made Azumanga-style neko hats as well as comic stuff, which was pretty cool! ^_^ The venue for the event was pretty interesting, BTW - an old octagonal library, with a pretty domed ceiling and busts of famous scholars and philosophers mounted around the walls. Cool. ^_^
So... I bought a handfull of comics at the event but overall we made a bit of a loss attending. As things are I don't think I'd be in a hurry to do it again, unless they decided to pay their guests or something (that's right, I did this on a voluntary basis). I'd got up at 6:30am in order to travel up... fortunately we were heading up London way anyway to drop Chibz back home, but yeah - we were completely and utterly knackered by the time it was all over with. Probably would have done better there if I'd actually had some comics to sell, but that's my own fault for not having any (yet)! ^-^;;

Kitty Knives is 'buzzinating' me now, so it's difficult to type (he climbs onto me and clings on like a monkey puppet, purrs loudly in my ear and tries to eat my eyes, haha). Eww, I'm covered in neko-dribble again, LOL. Well, I think I've covered enough news for now anyway. Ja~~
mood: okay okay

Sweatdrop thought about attending the Comic thing, but decided that it wouldn't make any money (given the table price), and it wasn't really the right sort of thing. We'd like to do a non-anime con at some point, but this didn't seem worth it.

By the way, the Sweatdrop website launched, if you want to take a look. ^^

Probably wouldn't have felt like so much of a chore if it didn't come at such a hectic time. Still, it was fun meeting and talking to people. It was also an interesting experience for me giving arty advice to people in person as opposed to over the net. There were a couple of people who came to my workshop who had a lot of potential... one guy in particular had sketchbooks that impressed me helluva lot! He was especially interested in getting into the games industry, and the way I see it games companies would be silly not to snap him up (he's studying at Bournemouth college an' all). Shame I can't recall his name, but I can imagine we'll prolly be seeing his work around in the future! ^^
BTW, you've probably already heard from Jelly, but your memory card's arrived... looks like we'll see ya tonight when you come to pick it up!

It was lovely to meet 'Chibi J', she's very sweet and I'll kick those naughty J Rock boys if they break her heart.
Sounds like you had an exhausting weekend. I wish I'd realised you were doing a 'workshop', I'd certainly have been interested. Maybe you could consider doing an evening class locally. I'm not sure how well they pay, but it might be worth investigating.
I've just got some free time here, and it's gone midnight. The only painting I'm going to get done in the next few days is on the walls up to 'Tricia's' guest room. Blah! But I want it to look really nice for her. I've looked around that link you sent, but the Bronze vid was sold out and no Translation. I did order a Yaoi comic though ;-)
Hope you are in bed catching up with your seep now - where I should be. *g*

How open-minded (Looks like random kids are finding my LJ now, how fun). XD Well FYI, anonymous spammer - yes, this 'faggot' is a bloke, and an extremely successful one at that. Gackt is a multi-talented individual who is a top-selling musician in Japan, has women falling at his feet all over the world (yes, really!), has starred in a movie and now has a very cool video game character based on him:

To say "YUK" is just your own point of view, and I respect that to an extent. But just because a man can look pretty doesn't automatically mean he's gay... one day maybe you'll be grown up enough to understand these things. ;]
