i wanna tell you something that i learned today and bryn and i were about in tears because it's so sad.
all around the world, there are people who believe in God and are strong Christians. Well I bet that some people don't know is that they have to hide underground or in private locations in the fear of getting caught. But you see what is awesome about that is the believe that anything can happen no matter what. Well, Tripp (my youth paster) said that in locations like we were in (we were in the basement of the church) they can't have lights and they can't make a lot of noise. When people get caught, they either slit their throat or they shoot them in the head. That's just on location. For the others, they take them away...women are sexually assaulted and men are beatened and totured. But why would anyone want that to happen?
It just goes to show you that people out there everyday getting shoot and beaten and tortured and held captive just because they believe in God. Just have faith and keep hope that anything can happen. I know that God is out there. Even if you don't believe it.
I kept and excert from Nigeria and I would like to type it on here.
Since it left the British Empire in 1960, Nigeria has known only one decade of an elected government. Nigeria's military government engages in arbitrary arrest, violence, toture, and executions in order to retain power. Islam is given predominately Muslim population oftem terroizes Christians, destroying churches and even killing believers, but the government turns a blind eye to this injustice. The church in Nigeria is strong, but there is concern over the rise of foreign cults and the mixing of Christianity with the country''s traditional fetish beliefs. Pray that the church will cling to Biblical teaching, and be a light to their nation.
That's not the only thing we learned. There is another story and I'll try to tell with the best of my ability.
Tripp and some of his missonary people went to Moscow, Russia a while ago. And they did all this stuff around there. It came down to the last day when they had a couple more things to do. They still had a pallet full of Bibles (it's about 400-500 Bibles) and they went somewhere and stood outside unloading them. People from Moscow were standing there in aw because they didn't know that you could actually take it. Tripp got an interpreter out there and told the people that the Bibles were free and that they could take them. So people started coming in a mob to get them and the Bibles dwindled down till there were just a few left. Then till there were two left. Tripp noticed there were two boys about the ages of 9 and 10 and there was an elderly lady who he had been noticing walking the whole time. They finally got there and the lady got one. What was powerful was that one of the boys was crying because he was happy that he could bring it home to his mother and father. Then Tripp noticed that the other boy sat on the curb weeping because he couldn't bring it home to his parents. The other boy (with the Bible) gave his Bible to the other boy (without one) and the other boy cried with happiness. While the boy now without the Bible sat on the curb and wept because he couldn't bring it hope to his parents. The elderly lady was hugging her Bible and holding right to her heart. Tripp started noticing that she was kissing it too. People came to get more Bibles but realized there were none left. The elderly lady started ripping pages out. Tripp was freaking out because he couldn't believe she would do that to the Bible. But the amazing this was is she was passing it out to those who didn't get one. And they were doing the same thing she did when she got it.
People it's amazing what goes on in these other countries. Have a voice...make it stop.
Wow that was amazing.
