Subject:The Roehrig Tarot
Security:Public

I'm curious, has anybody out there worked with the Roehrig Tarot deck, or might somebody have some advice here? I've recently decided that it was time to actually start working with the tarot, learning to read and such. Of the decks that I have (something of a former 'collection' that I thinned out before moving years ago) the Roehrig is the one that most fascinates me. Generally, reviews have suggested it is, perhaps, not the best 'beginner' deck, but nothing else I have really strikes my fancy at this point, and nothing new that I've seen recently has cried out to be purchased.

Ok, the actual question -- rather than the standard court cards, this deck has Princess/Prince/Queen/Knight. How might one translate this from the more traditional imagery? Any suggestions?

Thanks much!

I'd like to pander a moment of your time, if I may.

I am the co-coordinator of a wonderful spiritual event called Mythical Journeys. Its website is here. It is a unique opportunity to study closely with some of the East Coast's more well known presenters on topics that are close to their heart. You spend four days living, eating, and learning core skillsets from them, with lots of personal attention and interaction.

We have some wonderful tracks that are a little lower in registration than we'd like, so it would mean a great deal to me (and to the track organizers) if you could take a moment and see if any of these offerings call out to you. Registration has been extended through Sunday night so you can get a last minute to commit to changing your life, your rituals, and your perspectives in a deep and meaningful way.

Answering the Call of the Divine: Sacred Service

House of Babylon: Erotic Temple Work

In the Garden of the Beloved: Sacred Romancy

Sacred Storytelling

Weaving the World: The Art and Magic of Manifestation

Of course, you can choose to register for any of our tracks and that would make us very happy; these in particular are quality offerings that could use a few more registrations to make them sing.

If you have any questions about these or anything else related to Mythical Journeys, please feel free to comment here or email me at queendelirium at yahoo dot com.

Thank you for your time.

A friend of mine are looking for a decent park with not a ton of foot traffic in the Greenbelt Laurel area. Any suggestions?

Not a space I'll be doing super ceremonial ritual or anything - but there will be meditation involved.

Thanks!

The Atlantic Coast Gem and Mineral Expo is Saturday, September 27th and Sunday, September 28th at the Howard County Fairgrounds in Maryland.  Admission is $5.  I've gone to this one several years running and there are more dealers than you could imagine specializing in everything from minerals in the raw to beautiful gemstone jewelry.  The number of dealers is great, too--prices are awesome, selection's incredible.  I've made some great finds there.  I highly recommend the trip--it's well worth the $5.

Subject:A Few Questions About Pagan Periodicals
Security:Public

Hi! I’ve got a few questions for you lovely people. My friends and I are currently in the process of creating a pagan magazine. We’ve found that the largest and most widely distributed pagan magazines are unfulfilling- being mostly anecdotal and catering to a less mature set.

The magazine we’re hoping to come out with, Thorn, will be an attempt to bring academia and investigative  journalism into the market- interviews with the heads of various sects, reprintings of source materials, reviews of music and games, articles on modern and ancient paths, fiction and art. We intend to have a website with content not published, archives, and discussion forums. We want to go the whole nine and make a truly excellent magazine.

I’d love to hear your own gripes and opinions about pagan periodicals or any suggestions you might have for such a magazine. If you have the time, I’d be ever so grateful if you’d pop in and take our marketing survey here. We have prizes!

Subject:Spiritual Significance of Oak or Peace Lily?
Security:Public
Mood: curious
Music:Renegade - Styx

I'm trying to find out the spiritual significance or correspondence of oak and/or the peace lily plant.

See, I have what I call a black thumb. Any plant I attempt to grow dies, except peace lilies. I seem to always have really good luck with them. My son asked me today if I knew anything about the significance of the plant and I realized I had no idea!

An added note... I have a deep reaction to oak, too. Don't grow it, but just love it and take comfort from it.

So, if anyone knows the answer to this, I would really appreciate a quick note. Thanx!
