Contrary to what the capitalist villains wish to believe, I am not dead.

Comrade cow asks, "What are the three greatest secrets of the Glorious Soviet State?"

I shall reveal no secret information of the Most Glorious Soviet People, imperialist spy!

Comrade PrOP-M and I would like to wish all of our socialist comrades a happy May Day! May the labourers of the world unite and cast off the shackles of capitalist oppression! The Beautiful Socialist Cause shall be ever victorious!

On a seperate note, I am leaping onto this question meme 'bandwagon' of OpportunityGrrl's. Ask me a question and I shall answer it in its own journal entry, providing it does not compromise the security of the Glorious Soviet State.

A poem for my capitalist western spacecraft comrades.

    Roses are red,
    Soviets are too,
    Sputnik was Socialist,
    You should be, too.

To my journal comrades who have asked about Comrade PrOP-M, as of late, he has been tryingto pull us to a more strategic location. We remain in the same spot. His ski feet have no traction in the accursed Mars dust. He may have not the strength, but he is filled with the glorious Spirit of the Russian Bear!

It has been some time since my last journal entry. I am suffering from Soviet Writer's Bloc. Do you get it? Writer's Block... Soviet Bloc... Soviet Writer's Bloc. HA HA HA.

Everyone likes capitalist western space craft! They draw pictures for them, make icons for them. Does anyone like Soviet spacecraft? No! Oh, look out for big scary Soviet menace! They will bring you socialist glory... Ooooh... Scary...

In preparation of the future arrival of glorious Soviet cosmonauts, it seems to me that the red planet should be the Red planet with appropriately named features. I have taken it upon myself to rename some of the more popular landmarks on the planet to give them a more Soviet feel.

-Olympus Mons will be named October Mons, after the Glorious October Revolution. Alternately, Comrade PrOP-M suggests Opportunitygrrl Mons. It is my belief he admires her in an other-than-professional way. I am sure the Politburo will wish to
    discuss this matter with him.
-Phobos will be named Marx, after Glorious Comrade Marx.
-Deimos will be named Engels after Glorious Comrade Engels.
-Tyrrhena Patera will be named Titov Patera, after Most Glorious Comrade Cosmonaut Titov.
-Valles Marinaris will be named Valles Marsnik, after Comrade Marsnik 1, the Soviet
Union's first attempt at a planetary probe.
-Arsia Mons will be named Andropov Mons, after Glorious Comrade Secretary Andropov.
-Tempe Terra will be named Tereshkova Terra, after Glorious Comrade Cosmonaut
    Tereshkova, first woman in space.
-Chryse Planitia will be named Krushchev Planitia, after Comrade Secretary Krushchev.
-Utopia Planitia will be named Gagarin Planitia, after Glorious Comrade Cosmonaut Gagarin.
-Noctis Labyrinthus will be named Lenin Labyrinthus, after Comrade Secretary Lenin.
-Planum Boreum will be named Planum Brezhnev, after Comrade Secretary Brezhnev.
-Ptolemaeus Crater will be named Pathfindress Crater. Comrade PrOP-M feels a need to name the crater on whose 'shores' sit our landing site and the future City of Gagaringrad after yet another capitalist western rover. I am convinced he has other-than-professional feelings for her as well.

Of course, these new names are unofficial until they have been approved by the most glorious U.S.S.A., the Union of Soviet Socialist Astronomers.

    Exploration of Mars!
Greetings to my space comrades! PrOP-M here! After a 10 hour journey, I have come to rest at my first exploration site, 5 metres north by northwest of Comrade Mars 3. My initial analysis reveals large concentrations of iron oxide molecules. This discovery leads me to believe that Mars once had a modern civilisation, much like Earth.

For such a large concentration of iron oxide to exist, there would have had to be a vast system of roads, on which were driven automobiles. During winter conditions, large quantities of sodium chloride were used to lower the freezing point of dihydrogen monoxide on the road systems. The combination of sodium chloride and dihydrogen monoxide resulted in a chemical which hastened the breakdown of iron present in the automobiles into iron oxide.

Comrade PrOP-M here. Greetings to all my space buddy comrades! Tomorrow, Comrade Mars 3 is permitting me to leave my storage rack and explore! Or at least explore to the extent one can when one is on a 15 metre tether. Hopefully I will make a most glorious discovery to impress cute capitalist rovers... I mean for the glory of the Soviet People and the Beautiful Socialist Cause!

In the distant future, after my power cells have inevitably failed, when Mars has been terraformed by superior Soviet technology, it is my wish and my dream that my parts will be recycled and used to build tractors to plow the most glorious Martian farmlands of the Interplanetary Soviet people.

I now have a paid account. Unfortunately, to pay for it, I was forced to sell Comrade PrOP-M to a band of wandering rovers. HA HA! I am pulling on your leg. It would be difficult to sell Comrade PrOP-M, as he is tethered to me.

But seriously, I would like to send most glorious thanks to my socialist Canadian comrade who paid for my account. Truly she is a fighter for the Soviet people!

To jump on the capitalists' poetry bandwagon and as I have nothing else to do without orders that will never arrive, I have put together words of my own in the form of the haiku.

Comrade PrOP-M wishes to, as he says, 'give a shout out' to his space friends. I feel he is being corrupted by access to capitalist mainstream media. Perhaps I shall have to make him watch more quality Soviet programming (3CP1 on your dial, Russian Television), such as 'Uposcrabblenyk' or 'Tibor's Tractor'. But I digress. I shall let him speak.

    ---

Hello! I am Comrade Pribori Ochenki Prokhodimosti-Mars, but my friends call me Marsokhodik or PrOP-M. I like exploring, analysing soil with my penetrometer and radiation densitometer. I also like Cheecago Cubs baseball, cute imperialist western space crafts, and playing tetris. I wish to send a shout out to all my martian comrades. How would you say... Word to your comrade!

Comrade mrfnord has wisely advised me to reach out to the impressionable imperialist American rovers. Their landers and I are more alike than they may realise. In fact, in some ways, they are based on glorious Soviet technology! The petals their landers had to right themsleves in the event they landed on their sides or upside down, those are a part of me, as well. We are like... long lost brothers, their landers and I. I could be the uncle of pathfindress, opportunitygrrl, and spiritrover. As such, it would be neglectful of me, as their uncle, if I did not teach them of the glories of the Soviet Union and of their glorious Soviet relatives who explored before them.

I have been buoyed by the support of Comrades fuse_sat, cpip, and rdfox! Now is the dawn of a new Soviet Era! I claim the area in and around my landing spot at 45 deg S, 158 deg W in the name of the Interplanetary Union of Soviet Socialist Republics! It is only fitting that a new Red Nation be founded on the Red Planet. This very spot shall now be known as the City of Gagaringrad, named for the Glorious Hero of the Soviet People, Comrade Cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin!

Um... This may seem rather anticlimactic, but Comrade PROP-M insistes that I send greetings to his 'Western Comrades...' He has now returned to playing that glorious, Soviet-created game Tetris, which he downloaded today. *sigh*
