Hola!
Hey, here we are fifteen days into the New Year and for most of us that means resolutions are really in the works now or resolutions are going by the wayside already. You know, "I'm going to quit smoking", "I'm going to lose weight", "I'm going to start a new business", and "I'm going to make more money" or "I'm going to see Majical more and buy their products too". Hey, those are all great resolutions except for the fact that it's usually a long-winded proposition. By that I mean that for most of us there really isn't any real plan of action in accomplishing any of those resolutions. It's just all talk.
We have all done it. We say it but we're not ready to really break the mold of conditioning, habit, and non-belief. That's when failure steps in and we go on doing what we always do, with more reasons (excuses) to back up that failure and believing in those reasons (excuses) that it doesn't work anyway, so why bother, and therefore failure steps in and wins.
In order to accomplish anything, and you can, You must have DESIRE to really accomplish that which you seek. A burning desire for ANYTHING is what will manifest but there are certain steps that should be and must be followed. Here are the six most important steps in accomplishing your desires. They are:
First; Fix in your mind exactly what it is that you desire.
Second; Determine exactly what you'll give for that desire.
Third; Establish a definite date when you intend to possess that which you desire.
Fourth; Create a definite PLAN for carrying out your desire, and begin at once whether you're ready or not to put this plan into action.
Fifth; Write out a clear and concise statement of what you intend on accomplishing, name the time limit for you to do it, state what you intend to give for it, and describe clearly the plan of action you will take to get it.
Sixth; Read aloud your statement twice daily, once upon getting out of bed in the morning and once upon going to bed at night. See, feel and believe yourself already in possession of your burning desire.
I had to learn this as I too floundered around from one disappointment to another. At the end of 2003, I thought I was going to lose everything I had worked for but because I had put these principles into action earlier in the year, it all worked out. . .as planned. In fact to a tee, and even though worry and doubt crept in towards the end, which is totally natural, I didn't succumb to the specter of FAILURE. Who taught me this? Read on and I will reveal the person in another part of the newsletter.
So have your resolutions become reality and accomplish your dreams whatever they may be. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%% Que pasa Majical? Gigs? %%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
Majical will be performing at Billy Bombay's on Friday January 28th for one night only. We start playing at 9:00pm and the party ends around 1:30 in the morning on Saturday. So it is one night only and we look forward to seeing all of you there. It has been a while since we played there and I think it is being billed in the D.A.T.E. magazine as "Majical returns to . . ." kinda thing. Anyway it's five bucks at the door less than the cost of burger, fries, and a coke. And that night we'll be giving away a few surprises and our CD that normally sells for 13 bucks plus tax online, will go for ten bucks tax included at the gig. It will also be ten bucks ONLINE too for that weekend only, the 28, 29, and 30th, but you gotta pay the taxman there. It's a great time to get your copy of Organic FUZZ the CD, and such a price.
We have a spring fundraiser coming up in a few months. Details to follow in upcoming newsletters but it's in conjunction with Chef Paul of the Experience Cafe on south market street. Will reveal more later.
Also, on February the 5th, Evelyn Peterson, community affairs manager of the Shasta County Women's Refuge, is holding their annual Biggest and Best, all you can eat, CRAB FEED. This event will be held at the Shasta District Fairgrounds and the doors open at 5:00pm. This is their 18th year doing this apparently so it is for a good cause and I hear the food is outrageous. You can contact Ms. Ev Peterson at 244-0118 X202 or you can email her at epeterson@scwr.org and tell her Jorge of Majical sent ya. It's for a worthy cause so get your tickets NOW! :-)

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Food O' Stuff ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Because Nicaragua lies between two bodies of water, the Pacific on the west side and the Gulf o' Mexico on the east, there is a heavy Caribbean influence. One of the dishes enjoyed by nicaraguenses is shrimp cooked similar to creole shrimp. We put a bit of oil, your preference, and start to sauté onions, garlic and green peppers. After they become a bit translucent you add your tomatoes, tomatillos, or both if you prefer. Begin seasoning with some basil, thyme, salt and pepper. After the tomatoes have softened, you can add lemon or lime. I prefer lime myself as it adds a bit more tartness to the flavor. So now it's juicy and you add your prawns or shrimp, bodies (shells) on or off, makes no difference to me. Cook for about five minutes but no more and while they are cooking you can add your chiles, chopped, pureed, flaked or powdered and take it to the hotness you can handle. For most of you that's not much but for me I like it muy caliente.
You get your cooked rice the way I taught you in the book, and put about a cup of cooked rice on your plate, more or less depending on your hunger. You spoon the shrimp, sauce and all onto the rice. Take some tobasco and pour some onto the meal and commence ta eatin'. Ooooweeee!!! A cool salad, Nica style, on the side to cool the palette. A buttery chardonnay and. . .yum yum. Wonderful and delicious.

Jorge's Corner Friday 03:38 am
Hola,
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. I am reminded of that every year at this time. 'Tis the season to give, and take. We give presents to each other and we receive presents. We give more of ourselves around this time but less at other times. The spirit of love and camaraderie is pronounced at this time than at any other time, but so is the stress. What is it about this time of year that brings that out in us? I'm not sure but I believe therein lies the stress and why many people crumble during the holidays more than at any time of year.
The money situation for most people is strenuous and now it becomes magnified because we lose sight of the "Christmas spirit". I don't portend to know what that truly means because it changes for me every year as I experience life more, but I suspect the Christmas spirit is the giving of oneself for the service of others. This is what Ghandi did, what Mohammed did, and let us not forget the star of the season, what Jesus Christ did. All these men gave more than they ever received back from us and it is through them that we can learn this great lesson from. Even the fictional character Ebeneezer Scrooge figured it out before it was too late for him.
The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh. A very good friend of mine, a person who was a part of the Majical familia and supported me and the band by coming to the gigs and telling other people of us, and who always wrote back to me when I sent out a newsletter, took her own life because the stresses of money, love, and life got the better of her. To others, she seemed to give of herself and yet inside she suffered the loneliness and the stresses that eventually overtook for her, that meaning of living.
Let's give to each other all year long. Let's be of service to each other all year long. Let's love one another all year long. And when the stresses of money, love and life gets the better of us, let's turn to each other for support and strength, and for the love we may need to see us through the hardships, trials and obstacles. Let's take up that burden for a while and give respite to our neighbor. We giveth (love) and we taketh away (their burden). Happy Holidays to all. Peace and Love
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ What's Majical Up To? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Majical is in rehearsals for the pre-production of the new, live shows coming up next year, and for the recording of their new CD. That should begin in the spring sometime and the pre organizational stuff is going on already. Individually, each has been with family and loved ones this time of year, and as the year winds down, we look forward to a very wonderful and exciting New Year of nothing but fun and music.
To kick off that New Year, 2 double ought 5, Majical is playing a new years gig at a private location. But we will be playing at Billy Bombay's at the end of January. I believe it is the 29th, a Friday, and it will be a one night only affair. So mark it down on your calendars. It's gonna be a "really great shew" and the cost to get in will be less than a burger, fries and a coke.
You can check the gigs page at www.majical.com/gigs.html for further information. You can also read about it in the after five magazine. So come out all of you, bring a friend, tell a friend, and tell them to tell a friend and get your dose of the Majical injection of fun and music and. . .DANCING! We'll be giving away some of our products during the breaks, including an Organic Fuzz CD. So see you all there so we can bring in the New Year con sabor. AY CARAMBA!!
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Packages at the Store ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Just want to make a mention that we are now offering package deals of our products. You can go to the Majical Store at www.majical.com/products.html where they are posted up on the website. Go and check 'em out. Support the band and buy a tee shirt or two and a CD while you're there.
I made the packages so they will cater to most individuals and families. They make great gifts for your relatives that are not in the area as well as for those that are. I am creating some new and cool products too so stay tuned for that.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Song, Lyric and Poetry Submissions
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Last newsletter I invited you to send in your poetry and lyrics or songs so we could publish some on the website. We received quite a few and we are working on the ones we decided would get published. By working I mean we will do some editing and as such it provides a free lesson for the people that submitted said poems or lyrics. And for you, you get to enjoy other peoples works to see where they are coming from and what they have to say.
Please continue to send in your poetry or lyrics. We will post them in a special section of the website. So, c'mon, don't be afraid and send them in. If you wish to send a song in for either a critique or to be considered for publishing onto the website, send me a CD or point me to your website or place where you have your song and I'll check it out. Contact me at jorge@majical.com for more details.
We're always looking to link to local bands' websites so send me an email if you would like to link to us and we can link to you, sabes? Muy bien.
************************************* Inspirations *************************************
Here's some quotes and poems for some inspiration. And it is also inspirational to read the philosophies of individuals that have made it in their profession, whatever that would be.
But check this out too. I stumbled across something unusual recently and as a valued friend, I wanted to let you know about it.
A couple weeks ago I was introduced to material written by a man named John Harricharan. A friend gave it to me to read. I thanked him but I knew that I probably wouldn't get around to reading it anytime soon. (You should see my stack of reading material to get to and I'm actually a quick reader.) But I decided to go ahead as I was pretty intrigued by it.
Honestly, I can't remember the last time I read a book that didn't deal with the subject of personal power, but once I started reading John's material I couldn't put it down. It was simply incredible!
His manuscript combined every success principle I've ever been taught and wraps it all up into one succinct exercise called a "Power Pause". And the best part is it only takes just 3 minutes and 3 steps to achieve.
Yes! Only 3 minutes!
The truth is, the third step alone is worth the price of the book. In fact, a nationally known talk show host spent the better part of a year on its importance. One of my favorite things is how John cleverly unfolds the Power Pause principles as in story...rather than the usual boring, and uninteresting, self-help style.
Now I frequently find myself applying John's simple (yet extremely powerful) "Power Pause" principles in my life and I feel like there is no problem or situation I can't conquer. (Frankly - I'm not one of those spiritual 'walk on hot coals' type of guys - but this stuff really has had a profound effect on my life.)
What's more, other top marketers like Declan Dunn, Jonathan Mizel, Rick Beneteau, Joe Vitale and Marlon Sanders all vouch for John's material (he even has an endorsement from famed Deepak Chopra, MD). I know many of you have no idea who these people are unless you've read lots of marketing manuals and business/power books, (of which I read and sell many of, another story I'll reveal in another newsletter.) but trust me, you'll love this book.
It's amazing to think there are only 3 steps to solving almost any problem you'll ever deal with (money, happiness, relationships, you name it). And John assures me that it works for anyone willing to give it a try.
The only thing you need to give this information is a shot, with an open mind. Open enough to take a chance on yourself and the material contained in "Power Pause". (Actually, you don't even need to take a chance because his proven material is backed by a 100% unconditional, guarantee --so you really can't lose!)
Do yourself a favor and check out this valuable information by clicking the link below:

All right. Some quotes.

"Most people give up just when they're about to achieve success. They quit on the one yard line. They give up at the last minute of the game, one foot from a winning touchdown." H. Ross Perot
"People in their handling of affairs often fail when they are about to succeed. If one remains as careful at the end as he was at the beginning, there will be no failure." Lao-Tzu
"If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody." Chinese proverb
"Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough." Oprah Winfrey

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Food O' Stuff and Recipes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here's a simple recipe that we lovingly call Gallo Pinto, roughly translated reddish rooster. I assure there is no rooster in this recipe. It is very simple. It is rice and beans. But the rice is cooked Nica style and so are the beans. But let's say you have bought the book already and you have cooked rice and you made a pot of pinto beans the way I have instructed you. So now you take another pan or skillet, about ten inches and no less than 8, and you heat it up. Put your favorite oil and you start spooning in some of the beans first. You want to fry it a little bit before you add the rice. Once you have the rice and beans together you mix it well with a sturdy spoon. Let it start frying so that the beans and the rice become toasty but you don't want to over fry it because it will dry out and that's not so good. Add salt to taste but it does need a little bit of salt, tu sabes?
For Christmas dinner, I am treating my family, and myself, to a Nicaraguan dish called bajo. Sorry folks, you gotta buy the book for this recipe but I can say that it is one of my favorite dishes and is traditional for Christmas or New Years. This dish has well marbled meat that is stacked over platanos and yuca. It is slow cooked with steam so it does take constant care and diligence with your fire (heat). Can't walk off and watch the football game and forget about it. You have to keep water in the pot so as to continuously keep the steam action happening. After many hours it is ready. As you peel off the covering of layers, which can be banana leaves, or nacatamale paper, both sometimes, you must be careful not to burn yourself.
This dish is served with cooked (nica) rice, a cabbage salad on the side and then, vas de viaje, which loosely translates commence to stuff your face :-)
Hope all your dishes that you cook are great and enjoy your meal with your family and share the love. Please pass the tobasco!!
Hola
Where does the time go anyway? It's already been about a month, no, it has been a month since the last newsletter. I am trying to discipline myself to write more often. Things just get in the way though . . .like . . . LIFE!! Oh well.
It's Thanksgiving time and at least for me, it is my favorite holiday. I mean Christmas has become so commercial and has for many years now, yet somehow the Madison Avenue types have left Thanksgiving alone. It is for me a time of reflection, a time for family get-togethers, a time to give thanks in front of people, and not only to oneself, and lest we forget, a time for TURKEY!!!! Ya gotta love it unless you're a vegan, in which case I feel sorry for you. No, really I respect where you are coming from but turkey is where it's at. Ok, I digress.
I want to take this time to tell you all how much I appreciate your being there and for supporting us at our shows and even online where you have been buying our CD. I have just about sold out and will have to order the next batch of CD's. So thank you for that. Also it is great for us as performers to see you all out there having such a good time. It makes it all worthwhile and fun for us.
Hope you all have a great time celebrating the holidays with your friends and family. Let's make it feel like this the year round and being thankful the year round for all of our blessings.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The Road Rally ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Well I have been there and back from the Road Rally, which is a songwriter's convention where lots of musicians from all over the world congregate and connect up with the industry's "big hitters". It is a place where writers have their songs exposed and connections are made.
This was a great experience for me. Being around 2500 souls who have the same goal, which is to write the best song they can come up with. Being around them and the industry leaders that can get your music out to the masses was a total gas, man, not to mention a totally high energy event.
The panels of industry types were made up of artist and repertoire, publishers, great songwriters, I mean GREAT songwriters. It was full of the leaders that make up the songwriting and music machinery. These were the people who get music out onto CD's, radio, movies, TV, and so on.
I learned a lot from these people and I also got my songs heard and critiqued by these industry leaders. Suffice it to say that I received some wonderful feedback, which in turn will only improve my songs. One song, Love to Dance is seriously being considered by a few of these industry types and I feel really good about that. It really was fun and I look forward to getting my songs placed and also going to the rally next year. If you're a songwriter or aspiring to be, write me and I can tell you more.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Food O' Stuff and Recipes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is Thanksgiving so I think it is only appropriate to impart some thanksgiving recipe or something to that effect.
We have a family secret recipe that is the core of our feast and that is the stuffing. Stuffing you ask? Well, our stuffing is not your ordinary, dry and unassuming type stuffing. Neither is it stuffing that you have to "drown" in gravy to make it palatable. No, my stuffing is a meal unto itself.
Of course, it is a secret and as such I can't give it away here. I will however be adding it to the recipe book, maybe. I will give you a hint of what it is and some of its ingredients though.
Our stuffing contains chunks of Pork Roast, capers and pearl onions. There are also raisins, prunes and bits of almonds. You'll also find potatoes, carrots and some special spices and ingredients that make this exciting dish, moist, almost creamy in texture and just plain WONDERFUL. Sorry but you gotta buy the book in order to know how it is put together, that is if I include it. I can hardly wait to eat some now. Yum. Happy Thanksgiving!
Next newsletter, a recipe called gallo pinto.

Tell us what you think ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jorge's Corner Sunday 11:23 pm Hola The fall season is here and like some spring seasons, it came in roaring like a lion! Lots of rain here in Redding and with the storms came thunder and lightning, a real high-energy natural event. It has calmed down a bit now but the change is finally here. As for me, it has been high energy too. I have been listening to different genres of music, preparing my mind to write in those strange but cool styles. I am listening to Ricardo Lemvo and Makina Loca. They are a Southern California band in the afro/cubano style. It is not your typical afro/cubano feel as they use more of the music from Zaire, which is totally groovy. Anyway it has inspired me and I'm looking forward to incorporating some of those rhythms and sounds in the new songs I'm writing. I'm also employing new ways to serve you, mi familia, so that your Majical experience is more fun and brings more laughter into your life. I'm sure you'll feel this at our live shows in the future. Of course some of you are having way too much fun as it is so . . .I don't know . . .well, who can ever have too much fun, right? Not only that but also the products that'll be on the website will reflect that as well. We're featuring cool products that you don't find easily anywhere else. Next month I will be attending the Road Rally, which is a songwriter's convention where lots of musicians from all over the world congregate and connect up with the industry's "big hitters". It is a place where writers have their songs exposed and connections are made. Of course you can always go to www.majical.com/gigs.html anytime to see where and when we play. We want you all to come out so we can have lots of fun, you know, that fun I was just mentioning above. The more the merrier so come out and have a ball. Also I am setting up some solo gigs and small combo gigs at different venues and I will update you on those as they happen. Remember that you can always go to www.majical.com/gigs.html anytime to find out where we are or going to be playing. Most of these gigs will be in town so you won't have to go far, I promise. Speaking of holidays, we have a few dates open for some house concerts or special engagements. Please call and set up a date for the band to play at your event. If not you, then ask some of your friends to see if they are looking for the premier party band of the northstate and as my gift to you for referring us you'll receive a gift certificate redeemable at the Majical store. Majical is in rehearsals re-working some of our more familiar tunes but also working on some new tunes for the shows and for the recording sessions. Our next CD is due out next year, so we must practice, practice, practice. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Holiday Gifts ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ The Store is open for business . . .twenty-four hours a day. How's that you ask? It's cyber-space, and in cyber-space you can find out about anything and/or buy anything you desire. Well, at the Majical Store, you'll find our CD, Organic Fuzz, which by the way, has been selling briskly. We have sold over 50% that we had in stock and they are definitely moving. We have sold many of them offline, like the ones at the CD release party at the Millhouse Deli. We have sold many online as well. By going to www.majical.com/products.html you'll find Organic Fuzz at the top of the products listed. We offer our tee shirts, hats, and our import products too. I will be creating package deals so you can buy a CD, a tee shirt and a cap for a discounted price over the individual prices. So look for that happening this coming week. Just go to www.majical.com/products.html every now and again and check it out. We also have our Majical Calendar that is really cool. Instead of having the usual, political dates and birthdays, we feature singers, musicians, and poets, cultural events and cultural icons that have affected our lives and the world in general. And we make them in the fiscal year version as well for you who work using fiscal calendars. You'll find our calendars at, you guessed it, www.majical.com/products.html so click on the link and get your items in time for the holidays. The sooner you order them the sooner I can get your gift packages to you in time for your holiday celebrations. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Music and Poetry Lessons and Workshops ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ We are in the midst of creating online music and poetry lessons and workshops to aid and develop budding, and up and coming artist as well as people who have been plinking along and want more out of their art, and themselves. These won't be your typical "how to play guitar or keyboard lessons", although we do accommodate people who do wish to learn an instrument. These lessons and workshops will deal mostly in the construction of lyric writing and writing poetry so that you get yourself to the point where you can, and will, get published. Here is an example of a poem/song I wrote that was published online from a website in the United Kingdom called, a band called o. Go to this link to find the poem and the website. It is http://www.abandcalledo.co.uk/rrr/rrr20.html You can also go to http://www.abandcalledo.co.uk/rrr/rrr19.html and see Janan Young's published poem at the same site. Now, these online lessons and workshops are being developed so that we, that is Jorge Arguello and Janan Young, online poet guru and owner of AlienFlower.org, a literary poetry website, so that you can have group and/or one on one instruction on those facets of art. We're working on other workshops and so we will be introducing them as we develop the plans. So stay tuned for that happening too. Also, if you're a band in need of having your sound tweaked and fine tuned, or an artist in need of an objective ear, I am now offering offline services for that right now. One, basic scenario would be if you're a young band and you hire me, I come to your place of rehearsal or somewhere I can get the full concept of what your sound is. I then objectively start to get your sound to a professional level while still retaining "your own sound" that you have developed. I do this using various methods and patented techniques taught to me by various professionals I've worked with and the experience I've gained over the forty plus years I have been playing. This is only one scenario, as I work with writers, singers, poets, and other performing artists. For more information and details, email me at jorge@majical.com or call 530-241-2330. We can talk and figure out your situation and remember I will go to you, anywhere you are set up and we work together until we get your sound down right. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Food O' Stuff and Recipes ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In Nicaraguan cuisine, limes are a big part of the flavor. When we make a "fritanga", we use tomatoes, onions, garlic, spices and liberal amounts of fresh lime juice. This is fried, lightly nowadays, and by that I mean in light canola or olive oil as opposed to lard or Crisco, and then used with different meats and in different ways. We use this "fritanga" when making Indio Viejo, Carne encebollado, and some of the dishes I create taking from my nicaraguense heritage. For example, tonight I made spaghetti, nica style, and I used about half a lime to give it that subtle, tart flavor that goes well in any tomato dish of any kind. Try it next time to add that special flavor. In and amongst the things I do, I am finishing up my first Nicaraguan recipe book, introducing people to nica food and some "family secret recipes" that have been handed down to me, and that I am handing down to my children. This "cookbook" will be available soon on Majical's website first, but then will be featured on the Artist Outfitters website, which will be the true storefront for Majical.com and AlienFlower.org in the very near future. So look for my Comida Nica as an E-book first and then hard printed. This will be true Nicaraguan cuisine, not watered down or "Americanized". ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Tell us what you think ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ Well folks, here's your chance to let us know what you think or are feeling, or anything else you wish to say to us. We invite your comments and will respond to most if not all. If there is one that really sticks out, we will put it in one of the upcoming issues and share it with you, our familia. Thanks so much for your support. It really is appreciated and makes what we do so much more meaningful and . . .FUN!!! As always, if you wish to un-subscribe at anytime, just send an e-mail and in the subject area, put un-subscribe in there and we will honor your request. Hola Amigos,
Where has the time gone? I must apologize for not writing sooner. Sooo many things have happened since sending out my last note to most of you, but I had to take the time to implement newer technology to help with the running of the Majical machine. It will, after all, make the mailings a much smoother operation and a better way of communicating with you. I also want to welcome all our newest members who have joined in the past weeks. I look forward to our relationship and I will strive to make this as informative on the many subjects we’ll be covering. And always I look forward to hearing any suggestions or comments you have about the newsletter.
+++++++++ The CD ++++++++++.
Also, the creation of our new CD (YES!!!! It is finally COMPLETED!!) took six months of my life to put together. For me it was a lot of FUN :-) but terribly exhausting. OK, enough of the boo hoo hoo stuff. The best news is that the CD is now ready to order online at www.majical.com/products.html and soon will be available as a download if you don’t want it sent by the snails. . .Of course you won’t be able to get the great and trippy artwork (That took FOREVER TO CREATE!!!!!) No, just kidding. . . it is a labour of love ;-)) Anyway, it is called Organic Fuzz and it contains new songs and songs you’ve grown to love. When you go to the product page you can see the list of songs and when you click on them you can hear samples of each one. Go ahead and try it out. Buying it is very, very secure as we are a Pay Pal merchant. If you have never used them you’ll find it very easy to follow and order.
******** The Forum and Poetry *********
Once you do buy the CD, you can comment on it, and anything else you wish to comment on or complain about or just want to ramble on about, by visiting the Groove Forum which is actually linked on the lyrics page (also known as the poetry song lyric page). Anyway go to www.majical.com/lyrics.html. Read the heading part and it is hyper linked as "Majical Groove Forum" in the text. While you’re there, take some time and read some of the poetry and if you are so inclined submit some of your own. Maybe it’ll find its way onto the page. Cool, huh? And if you are poetically inclined, please visit my sister page a really cool poetry, literary website called www.alienflower.org where you’ll find essays, writing tools, and lots of inspiration. Again, as a paying member you become part of the private, literary poetry critique and access to our literary workshops. There will be more information on the memberships and what is offered in upcoming newsletters.
********** Upcoming Gigs ************
We have had a very busy year playing lots of house concerts, private parties, fun-raisers as well as fund-raisers, and some nice gigs at our usual haunts like the Bob Gallegos’ Millhouse Deli on 299 west in Redding. As a matter of fact we will be holding our CD party there on the 25th of September. That will be our third gig this month. (sorry but I didn’t get the news out in time for the first one)
Our first gig is this Friday, the 10th. It will be held on the same stage where they are holding the Blues Festival. It is located at Caldwell Park at the Lake Redding Pavilion area. It is really called the Big Biker Weekend Run and about 5 or 6 hundred bikes will be there. What a cool riot that will be. :-)) The party begins at 7:30pm until 10:30pm. and there will be a nominal charge at the door like two or three bucks.
The second gig is a private party (sorry folks but if you become a paying member you will actually be able to attend some of these rad private parties. More details to come in some future newsletters. Make sure you read them all). It is on the 18th, a Saturday.
The third one is the CD party as mentioned above. It will be held at the Millhouse Deli on the 25th which is a Saturday night. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
~~~~~~~~~~~~ Products ~~~~~~~~~~~
Speaking of the products page where the CD is located, you can scroll down a bit and find our other products like T-shirts, hats, tank tops, blankets and a really cool calendar that will highlight not the usual crap you find in most calendars but real music, poetry and artistic information that has impacted our lives and art history as we experience it. Plus it features drawings, pictures of native plants, poems written by J. Young and J. yours truly. Really cool stuff like John Lennons’ birthday, Andres Segovia’s too, Philip Levine and Mark Strand’s. You poets should recognize those names. Anyway it is really cool and is featured on the products page. Go to www.majical.com/products.html and down at the bottom is the order me button ;-)) You dig?? Also look for the reconstruction of the Artistoutfitters.com page which will offer not only the products you’ll find on AlienFlower.org and Majical.com but tools, educational materials, and marketing tips to get your online art presence happening. You will be able to buy imported blankets, hats, textiles imported from central and south America, as well as things for your particular art medium, and more as we add them. So check out www.artistoutfitters.com periodically and watch for the changes. It’s all good. . .
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ What D’ya Think?? ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
