it is 12:08 am california time.
i was officially born in this not always so glorious state and county 26 years ago (well, 11 am-ish, really).

i start a new job in a matter of 9 hours and 20something minutes.

i do not feel 26. i do not act 26.

but, really, what defines what 26 actually is? and why does one feel it necessary to get philisophical on ones birthday? and if you say it's cuz it is currently 12 am and i should be in bed, it's not, mmmkay!

no, it is because i really should be more grown-up and more responsible. and i'll try. really i shall. i made an effort towards doing so just hours ago when i had a nice conversation with one of my credit card companies (as if i own them...then again, i probably do at the current APR i pay!) in an effort to lower my payments or get my APR lowered. this way i can pay this ugly card off in a more timely fashion and not get raped by their charges. later this week i hope to call a couple other companies and convince them of this deed too.

Age
I haven't felt 26 this year. I don't have a mortgage, a kid or a husband (hell, I don't even have any prospects on the horizon!) and for some reason I've convinced myself that all this is necessary to _really_ be 26 and an adult. I've decided to stay 23. But really, it ought not to matter...Age ain't nothin' but a number, as one of the (great?) philosophers of our time has preached...
Go you on the Credit Cards! I'll probably have to deal with that soon :( blech. Oh, and happy (belated) B-day!!!
