My grandfather is not doing well and I'm not there to see him. He is not going to live long enough to see my baby and I had absolutely no idea that the last time I saw him a year ago would be the last time I would ever see him alive. It's so easy to distance yourself when you're far away, so I don't exactly know how I feel or WHAT to feel at the moment. When I go back home with my baby, the world I'm going home to will be without him.

I selfishly want him to hang on, but I can't think like that. Right now I just don't want him to hurt anymore.

A day in the life.

I was recently given a Nokia N90 and I've gone a little camera crazy (after so long without a camera phone). So I took a few pictures! :D :D :D

The heat is killing me. =_=;;;;; In other news, I can't stop eating! It's like I'm possessed by a gigantic eating demon and it orders me to do nothing but eat! I can't get full no matter how much I eat (drinking loads of water doesn't help either). This is getting rather disturbing. ^^; I blame the heat. Gehehehe. And TJ's a furnace, so I'm avoiding him a little. Just a little. In other other news, I'm crocheting baby booties. I've done about three pairs without using a pattern and now I can even do it in my sleep. I don't know how it happened. I just got a terribly irresistible urge to crochet baby booties, then I went to Carolina's and got the thread (pink and blue and white!) and now when I'm not eating, I'm crocheting baby booties. WHAT THE HELL AM I TURNING INTO??? I'm acting like I'm preggers, but I'm NOT! Oh yeah, after I'm done with [info]pere_chan's scarf and [info]angelthorn's mohair pullover, I'm making this: Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting Mwahahahahahaha!!!!

This is what happens when you buy online too much (according to my standards anyway), you feel agitated and confused when you find that your mailbox is empty. ARGH. Must get a hold of myself.

In other news, I'm making a pullover for [info]angelthorn! I'm so excited about it. I'm still working on a sweater for myself (a revised Klaralund. Yes, AGAIN!) so I have to stamp down on the ADHD and finish what I start.

And maybe later, I'm going to try to get some paints and brushes so I can paint again. I miss it so. :/ This apartment needs art. BADLY.

Anniversary Recap!

TJ and I celebrated our first anniversary on the 15th and our day was just perfect! He woke me up at about eight in the morning because I told him that I wanted to go for a drive. After about half an hour of trying to drag me out of bed, we were off. He surprised me with this:

He hid the box in my Buick's glove compartment. The plan was that at exactly 10:30am (the time we were married), he would ask me to reach into the glove compartment and get something for him. But (of all times), I opened it too early to put something in it. I spied the box and I started to panic because I thought my mom left one of her pieces with me (when she shouldn't have). TJ (poor guy) said "Uhm, mom didn't leave that, that's for you. From me."

Aiyaaaaah.

Name ten of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick ten people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used.

1) Having the house all to myself, where I can just sit, knit/crochet or draw and be at peace while light filters through my white curtains.
2) Waking up from an unexpected scratchy kiss in the morning.
3) Yarn. Looking at it, touching it, buying it. Yum.
4) Having someone reach for you and pull you close to him in the middle of the night.
5) Going for pointless drives around town and holding hands while doing it.
6) The voice of two babies singing the Alphabet Song in unison on the phone.
7) Arranging senbei in a wooden bowl on the coffee table.
8) Putting my cold feet on TJ's leg and hear him whine like a bitch.
9) Paying bills with our own money (also, writing checks with a fountain pen)
10) Cooking Filipino food for guests and have them rave about it to their friends.

I tag anyone! Mwahahahaha.

Mwahahahaha!

So much has happened since my last entry! We moved into a new apartment (finally). The place is still a mess, so I decided to take really decieving pictures. ;p

Come on in! )

Aaaand! I'm done with the Klaralund sweater I was working on during late February (actually, I finished it early March, but I'm only posting pictures now because I'm lazy. Bleh.)

Klaralund Sweater - Noro Kureyon (materials) Klaralund Sweater - Noro Kureyon (materials)

Yarn, yarn, yarn.

I present...my first completed sweater. )

That's pretty much what's up with me. Moved again, still playing with yarn, still drawing (and I can't wait to finally have that budget to get that scanner), shopping for things for the house (it's nerve-wracking how it adds up, but somehow, it's completely worth it) and just enjoying married life now that we're finally finally alone now. It's wonderful.

In other news, I miss takoyaki. To cure that (though I doubt it will work) I might make okonomiyaki for dinner tomorrow. I'm kinda getting tired of Hamburger and Tuna Helper. ;p

ETA: Oh yeah, I went to the ER two nights ago. We just finished eating and were driving to the theater to catch a movie when I started palpitating and I couldn't breathe, TJ freaked out and drove me to the hospital (it took us about two minutes to get there when it would normally take about ten) and they wheeled me into a room with an EKG. They had me strip and stuck me with cold and sticky things so they could monitor my heart rate (and *sniff* how embarrasing, one boob was sticking out and I was too zoned out to care). They drew blood and that was awful (though my phlebotomist was wonderful, my fear of needles were the main cause of my discomfort and all that fussing), we waited and waited and waited and they found... absolutely nothing. What an experience. I'm absolutely okay now, who knew it might have been some kind of freak thing, but oh well. Things happen.

ETA2: And thank you thank you thank you [info]tahara_l for the paid account renewal! SQUEEHEE!!!! Thank you thank you! Mwah mwah mwah!

HAPPY NEW YEAR (again)!

In other news, we visited TJ's maternal grandparents a little after Christmas. IT WAS SO MUCH FUN! His grandparents live on a 15 acre farm and they grow their own food and care for their own livestock. They have cows, chickens, goats, horses etc. His grandfather milks the goats twice a day and takes care of everything and his grandmother weaves, sews, crochets, knits and cooks. She cooks EVERYTHING from scratch. We woke up at about 8am, the second day of our stay, she was already up at 4am and has already baked three batches of cookies and baked two pies (cherry). Her cooking is out of this world. GAH. She stuffed us and stuffed us and stuffed us and kept asking us if we had enough to eat. Heehee. Fun.

AAAAAND she gave me YARN! Lotsa yarn! She weaves (she has a bajillion looms and most of them were REALLY large ones), so she has spools and spools of weaving yarn similiar to the cotton yarn I used for my crocheting (she buys them in bulk because yeah, you need a lot of string to weave. Heehee), only these weaving threads are a tiny tiny bit thicker than regular cotton crochet thread, so they work up fairly faster compared to the regular kind. She gave me one spool of each color she had and we talked about yarn and crafts on the kitchen table while smoking and drinking coffee and eating cookies and her homemade candy. I've never had such an enjoyable time. I love farms and crafts and country cooking and Meemaw (that's what we call her). If that wasn't enough, she sent me home with a huge floor rug and placemats that she wove herself, eggs from her bantam chickens and three packs of Cobra cigs. That was wonderful. I can't wait to visit again! :D :D :D

No pictures though, I didn't want to presume and make them uncomfortable by clicking away. So never miiiind.

Dear Ugly Bitch,

Which horse fucked your mother so I can donate him to science?

Love,
Lyra

p.s. You should donate yourself to science too, they always welcome abominations.

I have a new toy! XD

I got this lovely little thingie yesterday.

So the first thing I did was transfer our Chicago Hi8 footage to DVD. After that, I screen-capped some scenes from the resulting DVD. So neat. @_@

PEEKTURES! )

To-Do List: Sort of.

*cough* Back to packing for Mexico. My mom just spent a huge buttload of cash for the move, she bought new everything. Pots and pans, comforter sets, sheets, pillowcases, towels, bathmats, memory foam (o.0), utensils, glasses... etc. GAH. It's make their departure even more real, I guess I just don't really want to accept that they're leaving. Even to myself. I always had to stop myself from saying "We already have that." I have to remember that they should leave stuff for TJ, Reggie and me to use. *cough*

I can't believe it's the 11th already. I'm not even done with half the stuff I promised myself to finish this week. @_@ I have to finish all those beanies, shop for gifts for TJ's family, finish the doily I promised my MIL I'd do, mail cards, do several art and felt thingies, brace myself for household management and reorganize the kitchen now that it's not going to be Mom's domain anymore. It's going to be mine. So all the recipes I've collected will have to be catalogued. ACK!

In other news, I'm a little tired of A Novel Conundrum, I'll be experimenting with several LJ layouts throughout the week. Who knows I might end up with the one with the pink kitty? ;p
