 | 09:02 am Waa! Hisashiburi, ne?
Actually, I completely forgot to tell anyone that I bought a Condo. It's really nice, 1100 square feet with detached garage. I have a roommate to help cover costs just now.
Also, I'm working for a company called Page 1 Solutions. I like it a lot, but I miss traveling!
I hope everyone is doing well!

 | 09:49 am - New Apaato I doubt anyone is really following this account at the moment, but happily I have a new job, and yesterday I found a new apartment, about which I am very excited.
Missed my 10-year reunion last weekend, but I'm not too torn up about it. I'm also in school getting my Master's at the moment, doing secondary ed.
That's my little ditty for the moment.
Any questions? ^.^

 | 06:19 pm This is probably going to be my last entry in this journal for a while. ^.^' I may put up more pictures, but I may not.
Anyway, I'm back in the States safely and have already gotten to see a lot of people. Tomorrow commences my search for a good job. I am confident that it will work out well. I just have to look hard and be willing to work hard, too.
If you would like to contact me, you can always post a comment to this journal and it will go to my email account, or if you know my email, you can contact me there, too. ^.^
I hope everyone has a fabulous New Year and a great year ahead of them. *smoochies*

 | 07:34 am It's snowing!
It's very pretty, but a little bit of inconvenient timing.
Off to the post office...hopefully!

 | 03:42 pm Huzzah! I can hardly tell you how happy I am!
I have a chair. I have high speed internet. I have a bed! That and I have spent $600 to send home 4 boxes. Which is great, because it didn't cost $800!
And I'm watching something about Gary Cooper on a very nice Sony flat screen TV.
Ummm...I think that's all for the moment. But yes, I'm in my hotel, very pleased with my situation, and I smell like smoke so I need to shower.
That's all. Le smoochies.

 | 09:51 pm So, nearly had a panic attack about two hours ago. Doing alright now. ^.^ Have all my 'junk' picked up and all that...in bags, ready to go out.
Then I'll just have to clean in the morning and I'll be all ready to go...
I wish I knew when the post office opened. I want to try it at 9, but I'm nervous about it... If they don't open until 10 I'd be in big trouble. I think the best thing to do is just get a taxi whenever the inspection thing is done, take my bags to the hotel, and then take the same cab over to the post office with my boxes.
I hope hope HOPE that they don't give me trouble about the boxes I'm using to send stuff back. I seem to recall being given trouble about it by the post office in Toyota. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed. It'll probably cost well over $500 to send back the stuff I've got.
The good news is, I should get more money in my bank account on the 29th. If I don't, there will be serious trouble. ^.^' Well, I suppose I have my credit card, but I'm really hoping I won't have to use that. And heaven knows, if I do I may be in a very tight situation financially.
Anyway. This is really a bad time to be angsting and gushing here, but I'm a little panicky. I've never had to move overseas without any help before. ^.^'
So if you pray, please pray that everything goes safely for me. I know I will be taken care of, but that doesn't really help people not feel anxious, does it? ^.^'
Alright, off to shower my last shower, clean the bathroom real quick and head to bed. Sooooooo exhausted!
After I get those boxes mailed everything should be fairly easy, but before then I may end up in the hospital in a coma just from sheer stress!!
I'll post again tomorrow evening once I'm checked into my hotel and not going nuts.
*smooches to everyone*

 | 09:55 pm Yes! I finally have a new layout. Simple, but effective--and very opposite from the dark one from before. ^.^

 | 09:03 pm - Happy Christmas Well, today was C-day, and do you know I didn't get a single verbal holiday greeting or listen to any christmas songs? Heh...pretty bizarre. But I did buy a suitcase.
I did, however, get almost everything I'm getting rid of sorted out and moved to the right quadrant of my apartment to sneak out to the garbage later tonight. Tomorrow the man will come to buy all my furniture, I hope, and then it will be me, a futon and the stuff I have to pack to take back.
I'll have two full days to pack up about 2 suitcases and 3 boxes worth of stuff. I'm pretty surprised at how little there is, until I realize I still have to put it in boxes and pay to have it sent back to the US. *LOL*
Well, I'll get through that, too. Hopefully I'll manage it first thing tomorrow, then I can spend all day Wednesday browsing the Denver job postings and maybe come up with something decent by the time I get back.
Eli is already being my super-hero and finding a car for me. He has always been fantastic and taken care of my car needs, and is doing it again now. ^.^ Thanks Eli!
Some of you may not know I will be living with Sarah for a little while when I get back. (Yet another fabulous family member.) She has upped the schedule of getting their basement finished off to align with my return, which she really didn't have to do, but which is wonderful of her, and especially Brian, who is overseeing the physical labor side of the task. My family takes such good care of me!
I have a ride home from the airport on the 6th, though who knows how DIA will be by then! I understand that there are still several thousand people stuck out there because of the blizzards. Well...if I can get back into the country I guess I have a VISA and can rent a car to drive back to Colorado if I absolutely have to. ^.^ That would kind of be fun!
Oooh...I'll have to keep that in mind next time I'm coming back from overseas. *lol* Riiiiight...a 13-hour plane trip followed by 24 hours of driving. Um...no.
Actually, I think my travel time will be closer to 24 hours this time around...I have two layovers, which I'm a little trepidacous about because I think that pushes my regular travel time another 4-6 hours. ^.^' I hope I can find a comfortable chair in the airport!
Well, I have two more hours to kill before I'll feel safe taking my stuff out to the 'non burnable' spot. I wonder what movie I should watch...
Well, everyone, Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. *smoochies*

December 23rd, 2006
 | 06:40 pm I have a huge pile of things in the middle of my bedroom floor. This is actually a good thing, because it means I've gotten through sorting everything except for my clothes. On the other hand, I'm a little nervous because it seems like I am shipping back a lot of books! ^.^'
I have at least figured out that I can get a good sized suitcase at the U-Store for about $100. Which is much less than it would cost to ship back all the stuff I'll be able to fit in it. I do need to double-check the weight limits and things for my flight back.
Ha-ha! That's a lot stuff to blurt after not having posted much information here for several days. But I am glad to be getting stuff done. I arranged for the recycle shop to come by and buy my things on the 26th. Then I'll be in my apartment for 1 1/2 days really with no heat at all! If I were really concerned, I'd book myself into a hotel. But I will have hot water, so if I start shivering and things, I'll just take a nice, long, hot soak. ^.^ I'm sure I'll be fine.
Ummmmm...Oh! I booked the hostel I'll stay in for five nights in Osaka. I'm particularly excited because it has internet in all the rooms. That means even if I decide not to do anything at all in Osaka or Nara or any of Kyuushu, I'll still have internet. ^.^ Though I will try and get out. I may go to the aquarium there just 'cause I've heard so much about it. And I think it has the second-biggest fish market in Japan/the world??
Let's see...on the 29th I have to close out my bank account. That's the day after I have to be out of my apartment, so I really need to book a room here for the night of the 28th. I'll be in Osaka from the 29th through the 2nd. I think that it will be cheaper to be there than it would be for me to stay in Nagoya the whole time...in fact, I'm pretty sure of that.
My hotel in Ichinomiya will be like three times as much as the one in Osaka. But it should be nicer, too. ^.^'
Anyway, I think that's it for the moment...Maybe you'll get more updates when I'm not trying to pack. ^.^

 | 01:07 am I promised people pictures eventually and here some (not all) are. Enjoy!

Me, Keiko, Zach, Michelle and Jon at Loft. They had a big blue christmas tree, which you can kind of see in the background. There was a custodian kind enough to take this picture for us. |
Keiko and myself at the Spanish restaurant. (See my new earring? ^.^) |
 |
 |
Jon, Michelle and me, also at the restaurant. |
Jon and me at the restaurant. I'm not drunk, I promise! My face is just pink... |
 |
 |
Keiko, me and Zach with my ear muffs on. ^.^ The scarf was from Zach and Keiko and the ear muffs from Jon. ^.^ |
Zach, Keiko and Jon coming out of the restaurant. Don't they look posed? |
 |
 |
Sakae streets at Christmastime. Also the back of Jon and Keiko's heads. |
Zach, Keiko and Jon. Er...yes, this is a candid shot, they weren't just being funny. ^.^' Though Zach did take a picture of me right before I took this picture. |

Nagoya towers at night. It looks surreal, yeah? |
The Nagoya Hershey's Kiss. It isn't really, but it looks like one. The traffic blurs were accidental, but a very cool effect. |
 |
|
Nagoya lights on the second floor. You can see the huge blue christmas trees just behind these white ones. |
