I'm currently looking for one to try out around my area but thought it'd be good to get feedback/opinions from other Gretsch enthusiasts. Thanks!

I´m a (relatively new) guitar teacher in Barcelona, Spain and some students have been asking for melodies to learn. I´m kind of coming up empty and so I turn to all of you for some suggestions. Think popular songs like the Beatles, classic melodies, theme songs, that type of stuff. I know there´s a million but I´m really drawing a blank. For beginners to intermediate players. Thanks! Marshall JCM 2000 DSL 100 - $1000. Less than 10 hours total played on this guy. I got it for my birthday in 2007, then because of school I moved in with my mom. Well, my grandpa lives with us too and every time I turn it up past 1, he comes out and complains. 100 watt Tube amps don't sound great at 1. Avatar Cabinet (2 Celestion Vintage 30s, 2 Celestion G12H30s) - $300. This still has the tags on it. Probably less than 2 hours of use. Same problem with the amp.. I bought this right after I moved home, and haven't been able to crank anything out of it. PRISTINE condition. I would prefer local pickup on this, because it'd probably be quite a bit to ship. Epiphone Explorer with Kerry King signature EMGs (81 + 85 with a 20db Gain Boost switch) - $500. Guitar has a few cosmetic blemishes that aren't noticeable. If you're interested in the guitar I'll send pics. Line 6 DL-4 Digital Delay Stompbox INCLUDES power supply - $180. These things are going for $250 on ebay. Great pedals, if you've seen a board, chances are this was on it. E-mail me @ iamakidder@gmail.com if you're interested in any of this stuff. I'll go halvsies on shipping for stuff, and if you're located in northern Ca, I would be happy to meet you at a halfway destination to drop stuff off. Prices may be negotiable to a certain extent, let me know. Edit: if you buy two or more things, I'll give you an nice discount. B) Thu, Oct. 2nd, 2008, 07:01 pm
So my questions are: What brand do you think I should go for? I don't want to ask him because I'm afraid that would be too much of a hint. I do believe he has a Schecter electric guitar but I don't even know if they make acoustics. Also, how much can I expect to spend for a decent-quality guitar? I looked at Guitar Center online and found prices range from $69.99 all the way up to &2200+, so any help is appreciated. |
