Sleep Survey - Please help me out! :)

Mar. 14th, 2008 | 03:17 pm

Hello Everyone,

I'm conducting a short survey on Sleep Deprivation for one of my commerce reports (strange subject to be doing sleep research, I know, but believe me it's completely valid), and it would be really great if you could help me out! Please fill out your answers to these 10 quick questions and send it back to this email address:
dokidoki.diem@gmail.com before Monday the 17th :)

I am looking for males and females aged between 17 - 80 to do this survey.

You don't have to use your real name if you don't want to, as I will only be using initials when referencing on my report if needed.

This is completely private and none of the information you provide will be given out to anyone under any circumstances. Once I've gathered the data I will destroy the surveys.

Thanks so much for doing this,
I am forever grateful! :D

Finding Mr Right

Mar. 6th, 2008 | 09:13 am
music: Broken Social Scene - Shoreline

I would like to share this with you all. Totally cracked me up when I read it on Etsy.

"
Dear Krista,

I have this terrible habit of meeting incredibly nice, “normal,” wonderful men, yet I can't find Mister Right. Some say I have high standards ... yet I feel like I am like any 23-year old female searching for the man of her dreams. I (a 23-year old female) am searching for a 24-28-year old Ivy League Grad (except Cornell and Yale and maybe Penn) who lives in a trendy urban neighborhood near gourmet supermarket with sophisticated cheese selections and olive bar.
Must be AT LEAST 6' 0", max weight 190 lbs., shaggy brunette hair, athletic physique (chest/waist ratio = .30). Must be fiscally conservative, yet a social leftist. Acceptable professions include: Lawyer, Doctor, I-banker, Veterinarian; HOWEVER it is essential that company/affiliated hospital has an avant-garde paternal leave clause. Permissible college majors: Economics, Applied Mathematics, Pre-Med, Pre-Law. Interests: Eastern/Western philosophy and religion, pan-Asian cuisine, fluffy kitties (YET MANLY). Conversational/business Chinese necessary in addition to 2 romantic languages and ability to recite by heart prologue to Falubert's Madame Bovary. SAT score at least 1530. Family history must not include the following: hypertension, acne vulgaris, obesity, lazy-eye, halitosis; (shin splints and past history of pinkeye - ok). Must be cordial to (but not "buddy-buddy" with) former girlfriends (max: 2).
Intuitive, firm believer of astrology, clever and quick witted – equally comfortable conversing at estate functions or fixing an overflowing toilet. I have never had a boyfriend before because I am waiting patiently for “Mr. Right.” Just when I think I've found him, it turns out that he wears a size 13 shoe (9-11 only accepted). I don't get it – Am I hanging out in the Wrong Clubs or drinking my double-tall nonfat lattes in the Wrong Coffee Shops? I am growing frustrated and impatient as I go from guy to guy not finding Mr. Right!

Please help!

Signed,

Where IS He?!?

Love,
Na

unwise to not look while you cook

Feb. 19th, 2008 | 09:39 am

Hi guys :)
I am moving house this coming Saturday (23rd), and I don't think I'll be getting internet at my new place BUT I will be getting a phone with an answering machine! :D That's so exciting, because my karori house doesn't have an answering machine, and I never got to say anything like, "please leave a message after the beep", or "if you're my boss, you owe me money, if you're my bank, i don't owe you money"... so exciting!

My new address starting the 23rd will be:

Apt 210
169 The Terrace
Wellington
(don't know what my post code is yet)

:) It's two buildings up the hill from the James Cook Hotel, which is great because then I can abuse their lambton-terrace elevators all I want when i go grocery shopping nyohohoho.

Unfortunately, my room can't house more than 4 people or else there will be some serious personal space issues (not to mention I won't have enough plates and cutlery!), but I still want to have a small get together at some point after uni starts n.n give me time to spruce up the place, and then I'll invite people over for bites!

Miss you all~

Luv.

PS: can't wait for Broken Social Scene and Wilco!! :O Anyone else going?

So much Zen in my head

Nov. 30th, 2007 | 04:09 pm
location: uni. die.
music: "Pop Goes My Heart" from the Music and Lyrics Sountrack

yesterday i had a crazy allergic reaction to something/someone when walking from karori to uni. it was INTENSE

i was walking walking walking, got to kelburn, and my legs suddenly got really really hot. i didn't think much of it, so i kept walking, until i got to campus, when i looked down at my legs, and they were MOTHERFUCKING LOBSTER RED up to the hem of my mini skirt. the first thing i thought of was, "that is some serious sun burn!" but then i noticed that i had little bumps/raise on my legs where there were patches of red (like you know how you get those little bumps from mosquito bites? i had HUNDREDS of those bumps and swollen areas around my legs and thighs!).
i got completely FREAKED OUT and ran to the student health.

the nurse and doctor were completely befuddled.
they asked if i was allergic to pollen or whether i brushed up against anything, and i told them no.
they asked if i had put on new lotion which could've reacted with the sun, and i told them no, it's the same lotion i've used since forever.

they decided it was an allergic response to something, and the nurse gave me a killer anti-histamine that cured me in like half an hour (which i was SO greatful for because i had to go to class and didn't want to walk into the lecture theatre looking like i had 3rd degree burns...)

i knew i should've worn pants yesterday. -__-;

on a slightly un-intense note,

^_^ i gave my two goldfish a pretty new aquascape with a massive cool looking drift wood and intensely zen looking plants. this means completely minimalistic yet pretty, and now i don't have to work so hard to clean the tank every week. for two fish, they sure poo like crazy... they're fat and happy, and that's all that matters ^_^

i finally went to slowboat and bought my ticket to go see ARCHITECTURE IN HELSINKI this december!! yahooo~ i can't wait to see those kooks perform. they sure are a crazy bunch. the AIH ticket is sitting happily mushed up next to my BDO ticket >XD both are pretty looking and i can't wait to use them nyohoho!

the other night Lester brought me to watch a super cool and super ancient black and white japanese film (at the Film Archive on taranaki) called Yojimbo. it was TOTALLY AWESOME and FUNNY. i wonder if it has been remastered onto dvd? >X3 i laughed so hard at stupid japanese men in adorable yukatas and had a blast. if you guys get a chance to go watch it, i really really recommend it!

oh! all my results are out, and THANK GOODNESS to biotec and philosophy for pulling my grade average back up to a borderline A-/B+!! SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW. RAR >XE
Next year i'm tackling
ACCY111,
ECON130 + 140,
FCOM110,
CHEM201,
BIOL361 + 362,
TEC302, and
BTEC301

Has anyone done any of the mentioned papers and can give me advice or sell me their textbooks and notes for a good price? >:D hehe... ehehehe... *ahem*...

hamish (or nessa, who can tell hamish about this), can you meet up with me any time this coming week? ^_^ i can pass you labcoat and presents!

also, i watched Music and Lyrics the other day. Hugh Grant in the 80s is funny shizzle.
