Hello!

February 16th, 2007 (02:11 pm)

Hello People Of The World! Her Imperial Majesty (i.e. me) Has Returned! I Have Not Updated This Thing Since I Was Living In Merthyr, Which Was A While Ago.
That's a difficult way of typing, so I will stop.
Since last I posted i have:
*moved house
*ingested too much maoam, yet simultaneously not enough
*molested more people than we ever though possible
*moved to a room with the awesomest sea view you ever did saw
*made a tit of myself on several occasions.
But I still have nice hair.

You can tell I'm getting rather desperate about the lack of dissertation work done, can't you.
There is something in the corner of my eye. What is it? Ah it's gone. Anyway, I shall gesticulate at you some other time for now I must go in search of dihydrogenated oxygen....or some such.

Didn't realise that I hadn't updated in so long, not since before my birthday. And oh! What a joyous day! I can no longer be known as a teenage hoodlum. I got a rather nifty bat detector from my most wonderful of parents. Meeting the bat man while in New Quay has given me notions of a chelonian nature.
Since then I have mostly been packing and saying farewell to Merthyr Shitfil, for tis now but 3 days till I am gone.
I was going to write more here but that's what happenes when you write LJ entires in your head first, can't be arsed to repeat. Also, I still have to pack. 3 days and only about 0% of the house is done. Yike.
Till next time, dear followers and minions, here is a picture of Emma liking it in the stern, from when we went to Cardiff. She likes it in the stern, Emma does.

chipper

current mood: chipper
current song: The Darkness!

The good thing about trawling through all my crap is the finding of new and shiny things. Such as The Darkness! Yes, all of them were under my bed. I was wondering what that funky smell was...That dog don't give a fuck!
Also many copies of old teenage magazines. Ah J17, how glorious you once were. What happened?

Went for a shiny walk up the shiny mountain in the shiny weather today and tried not to be too sad. The moving date is now September 9th. Yargh. At least I'm almost all packed. Took down some shelves yesterday with some mighty screwdriver-wielding. And when we get there I get to reassemble them, but with a power drill! Rar!

Got SFX today. They say next issue their cover picture will be of John Barrowman in peephole chaps. Clam yourself Emma, I think they were joking. Oh but imagine.....So sexy it's two whole dots more than an ellipsis requires! Heehee just noticed I said CLAM yourself, not CALM. I could correct it, but I think I'll leave it as it is.

I started a fanlising for The Darkness when they were first about. Got 200+ members then lost the will to care. Someone else has it now. Don't know where. Ah the things I used to do to avoid revision. Foolish mortal that I was.

Speaking of which, 20 in a week! Yike! Seems like it should be auspicious kind of thing, really. Some things came from Amazon today which mother won't let me see and has been taunting me with them. Grr. Will be going to Hay on Wye on my birthday. Could anything in the world be better than a whole town of second-hand books? I think not!

The skip is gone. I didn't get to see it go as I was busy being a drugs mule for my mother but gone it has. If there was something in there that the people of Poland had earmarked for later then tough luck chum! It's gone. Yes, for twas the Polish who were rumaging in our bags apparently. And I don't quite know what to say to that. They came all that way...

Dad and I had a major chucking-out session in the box room and landing this weekend. We looked through boxes that hadn't been opened since they were packed before we last moved...in 1993! A bit like being Howard Carter, I thought, till i realised that Tutankhamun's stuff probably didn't smell of old cat wee. Although they did like their cats, the Egyptians, so you never know. It was odd looking through all the stuff I had when I was little. Every time I found a toy or book that I used to love, or hate, I could remember exactly how it used to make me feel and what I thought of it, even though I hadn't seen those things in years.
BTW Emma, got quite a few old ponies if you want them. They're covered in felt tip but I'm sure they're cleanable. What's your address? Might be able to post.

Speaking of cats, mine have claimed my tent for their own. I'm lucky to be able to get in at night with three of them in there all stretched out and 8m long. They're loving all these boxes lying around. What is it with cats and boxes? Is that where their ancient ancestors lived in the savannah? In cardboard boxes? Where they hunted down the sick and the young from packs of toilet rolls? Freaks.

Wasn't big bear week good? Yes, yes it was. I do like bears. They are far too cool for school.

Talking of moving, it looks like we're going on the 1st September, or thereabouts. So we've got 1 month. Which is cutting it more than a bit fine but there you go.

Am bored of all my icons. They're all crap. Need the arsedness to look for/make some but as yet cannot.

So I've had a thought. A crazy notion if you will. Could be genius, could be complete bollocks, I'm not sure which yet. An Aber Uni Random Acts of Kindness society. And so far that's it. Doing a bit of research into the matter but I need you wonderful, beautiful Lj people to tell me if you'd be up for it and whether or not it is indeed bollocks.
Cheers.

I'm back from New Quay! Have been since Friday actually but I'll tell ye of it now. It was fantastic! 5 weeks of mostly joyous sun and sea and dolphins. The work was sitting on a boat looking for dolphins (and porpoises, seals and mutherfooking-huge! jellyfish), sitting the pier for 2 hours a day looking for the same, (wo)manning the visitor centre and just generally having a fantastic time.
The caravan was great but NOT the 5 minute walk they'd promised. More like 50 but it was mostly possible to walk along the beach to and from work so that was groovy.
The other volunteers (except Sonja, bitchface) were awesome. Will miss them and hope we can keep in touch after.
Can't write about it all because there's too much and I'm lazy but here's some things that happened: I got splashed by a bow-riding dolphin calf, rescued a seagull which was named Lizzy, met a Batman, possibly saw a minke whale!, helped look after a sick pipistrelle, nearly got hit in the head with a greater horseshoe bat (got to hold one of the babies too. so cute! and big as an adult pipistrelle!), did something to James Bond that may not be legal so that's all I can say (unless you ask me later), watched more Friends than I ever thought possible (hurrah for digital!), fell off the roof of the boat and there's probably more but I forget exactly. It'll come to me. Just wanted to say a quick hi before I went for me tea. Twas fantastico though. Very much so.
www.cbmwc.org, if you're interesed. Which you should be!

Before I go, here's an example of how gross Merthyr people are. As we're moving we have a skip out the front for all the crap we're not taking. Stuff like cabinets, old bikes, a headboard and lots of bin bags full of crap. Many of which have been cut open and rummaged through. Ew! I think we should put bags of used cat litter in there. Hah!

And now for tea.

Hello my dearest chums and wellwishers (in that you wish me no specifc harm). How are you all? Myself? I am quite well thank you.

Upon the day of Tues I shall be journeying to New Quay (not Newquay or, indeed, nookie, although one cannot presume ;D) to go on a boat and look at some dolphins for roughly a month. I am rather excited indeed! In quite a subdued manner it seems, but excited nonetheless. One hopes one shall see a sunfish, for they are rather odd buggers. And happarenetataly the whales of minke have been seen around the area on account of the warmer weather! They likes them the plankton ooooooh yeah! Me, I hate it. Prefer krill. But what do I know? I haven't been to the Weddell sea in years. That's my favourite sea, incidently.

I thank thee Emma for reminding me I had Iris floating about on my computer. Through looking for it I found various other songs that I hadn't yet uploaded to iTunes including (and I ain't ashamed!) Creed! Oh yes! And a Litte Respect by Wheatus! I love that song duuuuude! And Wonderboy!! Grand.

Mother and I shall be baking a cake for father's day tomorrow so if you're in the vicinity of Merthyr Titfeel snd well back and hold your breath. Actually you should just do that anyway in Merthyr whether there's a-baking occurring or not.
I wish to bake said cake into the shape of a Dalek. S'doable.
They say cooking's just like chemistry. Shame I'm a biologist then isn't it?

I think something's bitten me on the hand. You bugger.

I ahd a dream last night about Jockser/Joxer of Xena. Gosh I miss that. Jockser the mighty!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Billie Pooper! You harlot! Don't gooooo!
She's leaving Dr Who! Foooolish mortal!
Curse!
You!

It's warm and sunny and joyful (by merthyr standards) and am I out enjoying it? Am I feck?! I'm fucking ill, as usual. This time it looks to be hayfever but I'm not sure. What does hayfever involve? I'm snezing a lot my sinuses feel like I've been swimming in a desert but there's coughing too. Odd. And I've so much to do! I shan't list it all as no one like 'to do lists' but I do! And I'm ill. Fucking 'non-drowsy' pills. Non-drowsy my arse! And indeed my arse is the only part of me that isn't drowsy.

In other news, there is a cloud over there that looks not unlike charizard looking dispointed because squirtle ate the last chocolate digestive without asking him. Fo shizzle.

Will Self. I would! Fin.

Yet another reason why I'm so glad I'm not living with my current flatmates next year: Sev threw away my toothbrush. She didn't know whose it was when she was cleaning so out it went. Bad enough they steal my shower gel and don't return it to my bathroom because they 'didn't know' whose it was and more or less alienate me the whole year. Ah well, two.five more hours and I never have to see them again! Yay! Fuckasses.
