I had to visit my GP today. I'd been thinking of getting rid of him, but it would just have been pique. He was quite nice today. However, he said to Flora,
'Ooh you're looking even more beautiful! That must be because you look less like your daddy.'
He said I could tell Paul he'd said it.
He clearly wants me to know that he doesn't fancy my husband. Methinks he doth protest too much.

Oh my poor neglected LJ! But this time I have an excuse! I've been busy, giving birth...

My daughter Flora was born on July 25th, weighing 8lb15. Wahey!
She was in special care for a little bit but we are both okay now. This is the first chance I've had to post though!

She's very cute:

[info]gleet and I are very proud.

I was idling away my Saturday night so ended up watching 'Parkinson'. I know most of you have better things than this to do, but I will never be allowed out on a Saturday night again, so. Anyway, it was okay, cos Patrick Stewart was on. Patrick Stewart is nice. Except he had a dodgy moustache. We were inspired to buy tickets to see him in Macbeth in lovely Chichester next month. I hope the moustache goes.

I know this lust is disapproved of. But really. Think of him in his sweaty vest in 'First Contact'. Mmm, Patrick Stewart.

Thanks to [info]poisonheadache for the icon.

Mem time! Listmaniacs: Comment here with "top ten" or "top five" and I'll give you a category. (If you don't specify, you'll get a five.)

My own top ten, TV characters, requested by [info]linniekin:

Of course no. 1. Willow Rosenberg (Buffy). Obviously. So pretty! So gay! And the vampire outfit...

And the others in random order...
2. Jean-Luc Picard (Star Trek: TNG), cos bald is cute and he's so masterful! Plus, the sweaty vest in 'First Contact', mmm...

3. Ted Crilly (Father Ted). His house was full of rabbits. And he's a Nazi.

4. Dale Cooper (Twin Peaks). Played by Kyle MacLachlan. Damn fine.

5. Pingu (Pingu). [info]miss_newham and I were so cool we'd bunk off school to watch 'Pingu'. 'Little Accidents' is the best episode ever.

6. Rupert Giles (Buffy). Oh, Tony Head, the sexy older man. Mmm. This is confusing, cos I also wish he was my dad. He'd be a great dad.

7. Athos (Dogtanian). Likes his beer. Is a dog. Yay!

8. Inspector Morse (ditto). He's a cliche, and not that clever, but still.

9. Niles Crane (Frasier).Played by David Hyde Pierce. Well, obviously he's a complete twat, but he makes me laugh.

10. Ralph Wiggum (The Simpsons). He's called Ralph! "My cat's breath smells of cat food", and so on.

This makes me realise that mostly these days I just watch documentaries and 'Neighbours'. Sigh.

So, house dealings continue. I overheard one woman today tell the agent she doesn't like rabbits. The rabbits don't come with the house.
When the agent arrived he saw my harps and admired their prettiness. He asked whose they were, and so on. I told him that they were mine, it was my job, I teach and also perform. Well, he was stunned by this and grabbed my hand in pleasure. Then he explained his rapture - 'my dad's a tailor'. Apparently all his suits are handmade - he showed me ths stitching.
That was all. We had a potential buyer to get back to.

As you may have heard, [info]gleet and I are to become parents. Our first baby is due in August. We are of course extremely excited, if a little nervous. I'm very happy to be able to tell you all. There's not much else to report though. Baby name polls will folllow shortly.

I'm thinking of organising a London dolly meet, sometime in the new year. I was hoping those of you who might be interested could let me know what weekends are/aren't good for you. I'd like to accomodate as many people as possible. Feel free to invite your dolly friends as well. It'd be great to see you.
xx

Look who arrived...

I'm so excited!

I bought her from [info]aquiliea, who was a top seller in every way. Thanks Ange!
Sadly, I've had to hand her over to my mum, who's keeping her for me as a Chnristmas present. I can't wait!

I've been in London again. That's been happening a lot lately. I stayed with [info]poisonheadache. Well, it wasn't really her I went to see but the rabbits:

Buffy, Leia and Cheeky

Only joking! It was fun, but what else could it be with a visit to the Sylvanian Families shop? I also saw my cousins and some schoolfriends, so it was cool, bur I'm now Very Tired. All I've done today is mooch around Chichester and play scrabble. [info]gleet won.

At least I got my new Cerys Matthews album. My husband says you have to be a lesbian to appreciate her. He would.

I'm thinking of writing about my therapy on a separate feed, as I've only got three months left and lots of interesting stuff is coming up. Leave a comment if you want to be on it. Maybe I'll explain why I'm so cross today. Strangely, I've gone off both macaroni cheese and the X Factor. Not myself at all.

Happy Halloween

I was in the bathroom this afternoon and started picking at a scab on my leg. There'd been a little spotty thing there for ages but today it was scabby. Anyway, getting it off, there was gunk and skin underneath so I started having a good old pick at that too. It wasn't shifting, so in the end I decided to squeeze. I did, and was presented with said gunk and a loop of blue thread as a prize. I pulled it out and it turned out to be a three inch long piece of a stitch put in there at least 2 years ago. It was immensely satisfying and now I have a little crater-like hole in my leg. Happy day.
