As some of you know, my family has pet rabbits. They're pretty much my sister's, but my mom takes care of them a lot too. Anyway. During the summer we keep them in hutches outside that have large play areas that we let them run in during the day. Last night, mom/my sister forgot to lock them into their hutches for the night and something attacked them. Hershey and Cookie are okay but our youngest rabbit, Viccy, was killed.

So R.I.P. you fat little trouble-making popcorn-eater.

this week at camp...
Sunday:
- camp director cuts her leg on broken dish in garbage bag, has to go to hospital, gets 8 stitches
- my large fridge (the one with all the dairy products in it) dies
- lady who did all the hiring from Province comes up, barely speaks to any of us

Monday:
- fridge repair guy comes in, can't fix fridge because he brought the wrong motor, since the number we gave him was wrong due to being 30+ years out of date

Tuesday:
- B&V leave camp at waaaay too early in the morning
- massive major storm, tree falls on power lines down the road from camp, camp loses power for 4 hours shortly before 4 pm, nutmeg has to suddenly figure out how feed 120ish people with no running water and no electricity (emergency water supply, BBQ, and camp stoves!)
- nutmeg somehow ends up leading the game where we torture the staff and has far too much fun with it

Wednesday:
- fridge is finally fixed! yey!
- might have kind of started a minor bit of aggression with LIT coordinator by commenting to the directors that I was worried about how much proper training her kids were getting

Thursday:
- spent large amount of time walking up and down the length of the camp taking photos

Friday:
- exhausted, managed to get my food delivery exactly when I was about to serve the all-camp lunch

...I'm sure there's more. I'm braindead at the moment.

books!
Figure I should say something, at least...

1) Look at the list and bold those you have read.
2) Italicize those you intend to read.
3) Underline the books you LOVE.
4) Reprint this list in your own LJ.

I'm a sheep! Baa! )

I would like to point out this list sucks, as I spent much of my life going out of my way NOT to read authors like Dickens and Austen and Bronte. I despise that era of literature.

And now, here are some books not on that list that I think should be and people need to read:

The Last Unicorn - Peter S. Beagle
The Picture of Dorian Gray - Oscar Wilde
At the Mountains of Madness - H.P. Lovecraft
A Wrinkle in Time - Madeleine L'Engle
Underground to Canada - Barbara Smucker

emergency, eh?
your gnut: *in the shower, washing et al*
el sister: *comes downstairs, bangs on bathroom door*
your gnut: *turns off water* What?
el sister: It's an emergency!
your gnut: What?! *hops out of shower*
el sister: Do you want anything from Indigo.ca?
your gnut: *wraps towel around self, opens door, GLARES* What? That is NOT an emergency.
el sister: It IS! I need to get free shipping!
your gnut: ... Give me ten minutes to get dressed and I'll come help you out. You asshole.

I love books on someone else's bill. I ended up picking out Roverandom and Children of Hurin. Slowly, my Tolkien collection is nearing completion. I only need like... a couple dozen more books! lol

(It's not one of their better songs at all, but the video made me laugh until I cried.)
