 Don S. Davis 1942- 2008 Can't believe it! He was definitely a highlight at Dragon*Con 2006 as well as two other conventions I saw him at. He was such a nice guy too. Always telling silly stories. :( Taken from just about everywhere in the Stargate fandom: The following message was provided by Don's representative and his wife, Ruby Fleming-Davis:
Dear Fans and Friends of Don S. Davis,
So many of you have been touched by not only the work and art of Don S. Davis, but by the man himself, who always took the time to be with you at the appearances he loved, that it is with a tremendous sense of loss I must share with you that Don passed away from a massive heart attack on Sunday morning, June 29th.
On behalf of his family and wife, Ruby, we thank you for your prayers and condolences. A family memorial where Don's ashes will be scattered in the ocean will take place in a few weeks, and should you wish to, please make a donation to the American Heart Association in Don's memory. | |

Hey everyone!
This is to let everyone in the Stargate community out there that StargateCaps.com is in danger of being closed.
No no, I'm not in any legal trouble, but the problem is with the number of hits the site is getting a month. Right now it is 23 days into the month of the plan and I am already over 11 million hits! This is already at a cost of $105 a month. I just can't handle the expense of the website any longer. The site used to receive donations on a regular basis but now the site rarely gets any donations.
I know that a lot of these hits are from people hotlinking my pictures from various forums and other places around the net and while I know you can disable hotlinking, it would take an immense amount of work to disable this the way the site is setup already. Frankly, I trusted people to not hotlink with free photo hosting sites out there and obviously, most people didn't care and just went ahead and took advantage of the site's content.
So as of now, the website is going to be turned off at the end of May. If you want pictures now, you might want to grab them. I may do requests for certain seasons or leave the current SGA season (4) and the SG-1 movies online but it depends on what kind of support/donations I can get for this site.
I know many have complained that I haven't updated the site in months, but the main reason for that was the number of hits issue. I couldn't afford to go over anymore than already and I was hoping that it would level out. But it hasn't and I can't do it anymore. I'm in college and I can't afford to spend the amount of money the site is costing me any longer.
I plan on sending out a poll for the group to see what they might want the most online but unless I get some donations to help out with the costs, it's all probably go to be shut off at the end of the month.
I'm sorry to have to do this because I know how much people enjoy the site and I know I've put many hours of work into it, but real life wins out when it comes to financials. | |

So my plans to spend a bunch of a hours on campus today and work on my paper for 394 was blown. Forgot to set the right alarm. *grrs* I'm going to have to stay at school tomorrow after my last class which gets out at noon. Ugh. That means i'm going to bed sort of early tonight. *nods* Yeah, I say that but will it happen? Maybe.

*squee* who else can't wait?! i know i can't. (this is a total public entry!) http://www.sg1archive.com/check this out... right, ok, so sci fi channel sucks and hasn't put this on any of their commercials. maybe this will change for the week and they will start putting commericals for it but i think it seems a bit late for them. at 8pm before sg1 200th episode, they're airing a special behind the scenes on the 200th episode with cast and crew interviews and such and how they made it. now why hasn't it been said anywhere else on the net that they are doing this? hell i can't even find much on the sci fi site aboutit. wtf? weird eh? right? i think it's awfully odd... *grrs* stupid sci fi. | |

StargateCaps.com has screencaps up for SG-1 episode 912: Collateral Damange (did I spell that right?) and SGA episodes 218: Michael and 219: Inferno. Right now I really need donations for the site more than ever. I want this site to be able to make it to the end of the seasons and continue on for Season 10 of SG-1 and Season 3 of SGA but without donations I won't be able to keep it going. Spread the word. This year I've been busy!
Last Tuesday I got in line at the supermarket at the same time as someone else and I didn't yield (-8 points). Last Wednesday I pulled over and changed gwentastic's flat tire (15 points). Last month I ruled Iran as a cruel and heartless dictator (-700 points). In November I donated bone marrow to ziggynj in a life-saving procedure (300 points). Last Monday I pushed tehshroom in the mud (-17 points).
Overall, I've been naughty (-410 points). For Christmas I deserve a spanking!
