Announcing the 'I Never' Challenge

Seems I can't stay away from LJ, fic, or chat, so I've decided to reward myself for doing so much good work. Even though it didn't win, it's still my favorite, and no pouting, because I'll offer the 'Swan Song' one later, perhaps. Without further ado, I present:

The 'I Never' Challenge
Boldly Go Where You've Never Gone Before



Any fandom, any pairing, any genre, any rating.

Requirements?

1. Participants must choose two of the four options; one of the first two is required.
(I realize that when writing in a new fandom, one is automatically writing a new pairing; I encourage boundary-crossing, people. Why not go for all four?)

2. The four options are: Fandom, Pairing, Genre, and Kink. Never written Harry Potter? Viggo/Bean? PWP? Incest? Here's your chance.

3. Must be over 500 words; no upper limit.

4. Deadline is June 21, 2003.

5. Please post links to stories in this thread.

6. Any questions about what constitutes 'Genre' or 'Kink' can be answered

I'm going to be pretty loose in defining Genre, so here's an incomplete list:

Don't mind me, I'm just glad someone digs my challenge. I'm very excited to see who will bring the kink, oh yes. And remember, you can always just do the first two--I can't remember exactly which fandoms you write in, but hey--always good to branch out. Says the chick w/ about six fandoms.

HP, SV, Buffy/Angel, Lotrips, Xmen, popslash (if you count Eminem), blah. That's why I might have to do the kink. I don't know if there are any fandoms I haven't written that I know enough about *to* write. Unless I just give in and write the damned Justin Timberlake crap. Nooooooo.

Who isn't multifandom now? I don't know anyone. *g* I will see if I can rustle up some other people for you challenge *shhhh, I have minions*

Well, I added two new kinks mentioned to me by someone, so that might help...you have minions? That's so cool, as are you for rustling up more contributors! Oh, and I already got my first response! *squees wildly* Go check it out!

New pairing: Giles/Ethan (BtVS)
Kinks: slight roughness, slight bondage, sex in a graveyard (does that count as a kink? I'm not sure. I kind of hope so).

Hrm. Couldn't quite figure out how to send fb at your site, but then I'm exhausted so I probably didn't look very hard. I found this a really intriguing and well-characterized glimpse into Giles/Ripper's past, his mind, what could have been. Taut and harsh and painful, all of it, made me squirm with the goodness.

And thanks again for submitting; (now that just sounds odd) I really enjoyed reading this.

here it goes. a general "i never," as it's my first fic (please read it anyway *grin*). buffyverse, willow-centric (pairing withheld), potentially slash (depending on how you interpret it), and pretty damn dark (someone referred to it as "horrorfic"). no specific kink as such; tinges of nonconsensual sexuality but definitely not a rapefic.
