My hair is on fire!
It's a wonder how we set to take a picture, and along the way we shot 'mistakes' and the picture we sought to take was no where as good as the 'mistakes' we made to get there.

On another note I'd like to pick your brains just a moment. Teachers and students alike (current or past).

Obviously the time we live in is all about the multicultural, or cultural pluralism. We see it everywhere (atleast I do in the GTA), especially in schools... and that's definitely not a bad thing! Obviously though, like anything, there's advantages and disadvantages for both students and teachers participating in a culturally plural environment, especially when students are new to Canada. Of course, there's the bonus of learning about new cultures and the pitfall of being misunderstood and possibly offending someone.

What are some advantages and/or disadvantages you can think of?

Picking your brains to get different angles.. as I would like to expand on my already existant list D:

Many thanks in advance!

Anyone want a postcard?

Not sure where I'm going exactly on this road trip yet, but if you'd like me to send you a postcard on my travels, please leave a comment here with your address. I'll print it and take it with me. Don't worry about feeling bad or inconveniencing me, I actually enjoy doing this. If I didn't, I wouldn't be writing this here.

I've set the comments to be screened so no need to worry about your comments being public ^^

Hm, I tried to find a community to post this in but no luck.

I suppose I'll rely on any advice or kindness my American-savvy LJ friends have to offer.

Planning a roadtrip with six other Canadians in a van. Planning on leaving Toronto, Ontario Canada, after 4pm on Thursday, September 20th, and heading to Buffalo, NY by that night. Would like to end up in Ann Arbor, Michigan by the morning of Monday, September 24th, or the evening of Sunday, September 23. Whatever can be done in between will be done. Figured the most direct route is from New York to Pennsylvania, then Ohio and then Michigan (and maybe detour to West Virginia before going to Ohio?). I have no idea how much driving that actually is... Would like to be able to stop and goto touristy sites like museums and zoos, or whatever. Would like to avoid bad spots: ex. The Bronx, Cleveland, Detroit. Alright, some of them aren't as bad but I don't want to be driving in them is my point. I'd rather take a bus there, honestly.

Any suggestions of where I should stop off? A shorter route? A community to post this to? Anything would be appreciated at this point. I realize, the shortest route would be to goto Buffalo, then drive back across the border, go further south-west and drive through Detroit into Ann Arbor, Michigan, but that's no fun :(

Yahoooooo!

Best. Ouran. OTP. EVER <3
I can't begin to express my delight in finding a router that actually fucking functions. It's better than chocolate, that's all I'll say. Thanks to [info]webrunner for getting me there, I have a router that works with my Wii, DS, two computers and laptop, and doesn't disconnect every 10 minutes *knocks on wood*.

No, sorry, no amount of quarters or dimes will get you out of the doghouse for forgetting what I look like though, Webby.

On another note, Taste of the Danforth was absolute hell. Absolute. I was sick, I was miserable, I ate way too many cold things (including the icecream top out of a stale cone) in order to soothe my throat. I should have stuck with the Chinatown festival as it offered the same stuff for $2 instead of $5, and it was less busy.

I had fun because I was with my friends but it's something I don't think I'll be doing again next year. Ribfest was good, but it's something I'm going to be going for to just to eat other foods, not the ribs themselves, because it was waaay too many ribs. Although, chilling with beer afterwards was nice. Coleslaw and beans were the highlight of my Ribfest, truth be told.

I don't want to goto work but I'm all out of sick hours, so if I miss it I lose money ;o; Boohoo. Oh well. Time to sign off the laptop now I suppose. Night.
