The club and its All-Star shortstop agreed early Thursday morning to a five-year contract extension worth $80 million that will make Young the face of the organization. Two sources close to the negotiations said an agreement had been reached and only the formality of signing the paperwork remained. The contract will keep Young, 30, with the Rangers through 2013. The club will pick up its $5 million option for 2008, then guarantee five years at $16 million per season. ( read more )

Here comes the cold Break out the winter clothes And find a love to call your own You , enter you Your cheeks a shade of pink And the rest of you in powder blue
Who knows what will be But I'll make you this guarantee
No way November will see our goodbye When it comes to December, it's obvious why No one wants to be alone at Christmas time
In the dark, on the phone You tell me the names of your brothers And your favorite colors I'm learning you And when it snows again We'll take a walk outside And search the sky Like children do I'll say to you
No way November will see our goodbye When it comes to December, it's obvious why No one wants to be alone at Christmas time And come January, we're frozen inside Making new resolutions a hundred times February, won't you be my valentine?
And we'll both be safe 'til St. Patrick's Day
We should take a ride tonight around the town And look around at all the beautiful houses Something in the way that blue lights on a black night Can make you feel more Everybody, it seems to me, just wants to be Just like you and me
No one wants to be alone at Christmas time Come January, we're frozen inside Making new resolutions a hundred times February, won't you be my valentine?
And if our always is all that we gave And we someday take that away I'll be alright if it was just 'til St. Patrick's Day

Music moves me @ 09:22 pm
Current Music: Tony Lucca - Feels Like Love
I'm all about the music this week... Does it keep you up at night? Does it chase you in your dreams? Does rip you up inside, tearin at the seams? Does it burn up like a star, falling from above? Does it feel like love? Does it make you wanna die, Or simply fly away? Does it make you want to scream, When there’s nothing left to say? Does it somehow set you free, When it all comes push to shove? Does it feel like love? No, it feels like love to me Does it give you all you need, When you’re forced to do without? Does it help you to believe, Beyond the shadows of a doubt? That even when he’s gone, It’s you he’s thinking of Does it feel like love? Cause it feels like love Will you follow it wherever it may lead you? Will you turn and walk away? Cast your fears of forever aside And trust that it’s here to stay When you wear it on your sleeve, it’s hanging by a thread You’re countin butterflies, as you lie awake in bed It’s so hard to contain, and it fits you like a glove Cause it feels like love Does it feel like love? You know it feels like love You know it feels like love to me

"Stupid boy ..." @ 09:10 pm
My latest favorite song...
"Stupid Boy" by Keith Urban
Well, she was precious like a flower She grew wild, wild but innocent A perfect prayer in a desperate hour She was everything beautiful and different
Stupid boy, you can't fence that in Stupid boy, it's like holding back the wind She let her heart and soul right in your hands And you stole her every dream and you crushed her plans She never even knew she had a choice and that's what happens When the only voice she hears is telling her she can't Stupid boy, stupid boy Oh
So what made you think you could take a life And just push it push it around I guess you build yourself up so high You had to take her and break her down
She let her heart and soul right in your hands And you stole her every dream and you crushed her plans She never even knew she had a choice and that's what happens When the only voice she hears is telling her she can't You stupid boy
Oh, you always had to be right but now you've lost The only thing that ever made you feel alive Yeah, yeah
Well, she let her heart and soul right in your hands And you stole her every dream and you crushed her plans Yes, ya did She never even knew she had a choice and that's what happens When the only voice she hears is telling her she can't You stupid boy, oh, I'm the same old Same old stupid boy
It took awhile for her to figure out she could run But when she did, she was long gone Long gone, long gone Ah, she's gone
Nobody's ever gonna love me like she loved me And she loved me, she loved me God please, just let her know I'm sorry, I'm sorry I'm sorry, I'm sorry Baby, yeah, I'm down on my knees She's never coming back to me

I've asked before, but I'll ask again @ 10:46 am
I really really really want a new header and layout for my LJ. I've asked before and got some responses, but I guess those people got busy and forgot because I still have nothing. So I'm asking again. Please????

"...then, we shall be free..." @ 04:35 pm
Current Music: Garth Brooks - We Shall Be Free
I just heard this song today for the first time in a long time. Even after all these years, it's still poignant and timely. This ain't comin from no prophet Just an ordinary man When I close my eyes I see The way this world shall be When we all walk hand in hand When the last child cries for a crust of bread When the last man dies for just words that he said When there's shelter over the poorest head We shall be free When the last thing we notice is the color of skin And the first thing we look for is the beauty within When the skies and the oceans are clean again Then we shall be free We shall be free We shall be free Stand straight, walk proud Cause we shall be free When we're free to love anyone we choose When this world's big enough for all different views When we all can worship from our own kind of pew Then we shall be free We shall be free We shall be free Have a little faith Hold out Cause we shall be free And when money talks for the very last time And nobody walks a step behind When theres only one race and thats mankind Then we shall be free We shall be free We shall be free Stand straight Walk proud Have a little faith Hold out We shall be free We shall be free We shall be free Stand straight Have a little faith We shall be free We shall be free We shall be free

"I am in repair..." @ 07:41 pm
Current Music: John Mayer - In Repair
I love ALL of John Mayer's new album "Continuum," due out Sept. 12. But I think this song is the one I relate to the most at this point in my life. In Repair Too many shadows in my room Too many hours in this midnight Too many corners in my mind So much to do to set my heart right Oh, it’s taken so long I could be wrong I could be ready Oh, but if I take my heart’s advice I should assume it’s still unsteady I am in repair I am in repair Stood on the corner for awhile To wait for the wind to blow down on me Hoping it takes with it my old ways And brings some brand new luck upon me Oh, it’s taken so long I could be wrong I could be ready Oh, but if I take my heart’s advice I should assume it’s still unsteady I am in repair I am in repair Now I’m walking in the park And all of the birds, they dance below me Maybe when things turn green again It will be good to say you know me Oh, it’s taken so long I could be wrong I could be ready Oh, but if I take my heart’s advice I should assume it’s still unsteady Oh, yeah, I’m never really ready I’m never really ready I’m in repair I’m not together But I’m getting there I’m in repair I’m not together But I’m getting there I’m in repair I’m not together But I’m getting there I’m in repair I’m not together But I’m getting there
