Computer Problems...

Seems that my laptop decided to catch a cold on me and it's in the repair shop at the moment.  Right after Comic Con too no less...  At least it's not that serious and I was able to back up most, if not all of my stuff onto my external harddrive.

So, I'm going to be offline for a while.  It might be next week when I can get back online...sigh...

So Jamie, if you are reading this blog.  I'm sorry for not getting another chance to hang out during the Con...  It was packed and oh boy was it packed!  Other than that, I have my little GBA SP to keep me company and Final Fantasy V Advance as well.  Well that's it for now, on the fly then.

This might or might not be the last entry that I'll make before I head off to Comic Con.  This time, I get to go for all five days.  At least working at Chuck E. Cheese's is good for something...  Other than that, I'm making revisions to the script for "Resident Evil: Coexistence".  I might be able to update my site one more time before I leave for the convention.  Also, Jamie if you are reading this entry.  Please e-mail me and tell me where do you want to go for lunch when you arrive in town so we can catch up on old times.  That's all for now then.  On the fly.

In need for cash and to thin out my manga collection, I have posted on Ebay three sets of manga that I don't want.  Down below is the listings for them.

Comic Con is only three weeks away and I'm praying that I have enough cash to go to.  Hell, I was able to make it through one Comic Con on $120, this should be fairly easy...I hope.  Anyways, that's it for now.  On the fly then!

I'm back fro AX08 so here's my full report:

Wednesday
I got up early and waited for Ricardo to pick me up.  That didn't happen and I headed for his hour and discovered that his parents were moving and rather in a hurry.  So I was forced to help out and told him that I needed to get to LA and fast.  This is because the hotel was in my name and my roommate were going to be there soon and want to drop there stuff in the hotel room.  so I hitched a ride with my long time best friend Jimmy and  made it to the hotel in one piece.  I checked in dropped my stuff and headed for the convention center and picked up my pass.  I liked picking up my pass this time because it took only less than five minutes!  So after I got my badge and did managed to get to Ricardo's and wandered around the convention center, I stuck my head in the arcade and played a few games.  I also ran into my good friend Anthony and talked to him for a while.  Some time later, I meet up with Jimmy and his boyfriend Barry for dinner and some pizza place.  It was really good pizza and a whole lot better than the pizza that is served at my work.  After dinner I went back to my hotel room, took a shower and crashed for the rest of the night.  Also the thing with Ricardo, is going to be a recurring problem for a while to come....

Thursday
I got up early, ate the free breakfast that the hotel offered which was cereal and toast.  It wasn't bad, I wish they they had a better selection of cereal other than corn flakes.  I took a quick shower and got dressed and then I called Ricardo.  I discovered that his mother is a crazy bitch and forced Ricardo to be his personal slave for the move and was not able to make it to AX this year.  At times like this: I wish that I did have a Death Note and used it on her!  So for the rest of the day, I worked part time at a booth and got some free mangas and wandered around the convention center.  I also learned once again that food was super expensive in the convention center and that I should never buy anything from them.  I think I coughed up about $10 on a rather good pizza and a can of soda.  Once again I met up with Jimmy and Barry and had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen, damn good pizza I must day.  After dinner we did managed to get into the AMV contest and of course was blown away from the entires, Jimmy and Barry on the other hand didn't know a lot of the titles and I had to tell them what they were, those two left halfway.  So after the contest, I headed back to my hotel room took another shower and went to bed.

Friday
I overslept and missed out on the free breakfast, so I headed for Denny's down the street and pig out on steak and cheesecake.  I also went to this super cool convenience store called Famima! and got some Pocky and Rumune Soda.  So once again, I worked at the same booth as I did yesterday and got more free stuff.  So  I lingered around and after the dealer's room closed and got some dinner at some local cafe.  Headed back and went to the June/801 Media Yaoi Panel and managed to win a autograph postcard and somehow lost it in my luggage (grrr).  After the panel I went back to the hotel room, took another shower and crashed once again for the night.

Saturday
Got up, got dressed and I ate at Denny's and wandered around the entire convention center once again.  The best deal for me was getting a four volume manga series for about $12.  I wanted to go to Masquerade but tickets were sold out and instead attend the other panel called "The Last Comic Standing", never had I laughed that hard at anything before.  I left during intermission and went back to my hotel room and crashed once again for the night.

Sunday
I packed up my stuff and left it in the manager's office and went to the convention center.  I blew the remainder of my money on really cheap deals and left for home after the dealer's room closed.   So I headed home and for once it was a smooth ride going to and from.  So I got home like around seven and unpacked.  I took a shower and went to bed.

So that ends my adventures at Anime Expo 2008.  Down below is list of what I got.
  • Old Boy Vols 5 - 8
  • Ikebukuro West Gate Park Vols 1 - 4
  • Transparent Vol 1
  • Lava Punch Vols 1 - 2
  • Honey and Clover Vol 2
  • Figure17 Vol 2
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Khan Vol 1
  • Basara Vol 3
  • The Birthday
  • Spiral
  • The Worlds of Amano
  • Intron Deposit 4
  • Yuki Terai TOKYO LABYRINTH
  • Virtual Beauties 2020
  • Several book markers
  • Several Key chains
  • Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerberus cell phone charm
I made out with quite a haul not bad for only having $200 in cash and I used that cash on food as well.  I hope that Ricardo will be able to come with me to Comic Con later on this month.  Overall I had a great time, even though I was by myself...  Until then.  On the fly!

To Anime Expo 2008.  I'll be offline for a few days and will post a full report sometime either Sunday Night or Monday.  I have five illustrations that I'm posting at the art show for sale.  One of them is framed in a 11x14 frame and the rest are matted and in protective plastic bags.  I'll be wandering around with a purple Viz bag and sketchbook.  So I hope to see you there!

I'm also praying that this AX will not be disastrous than last years...  On the fly then

Four years, I finally get to read the ending to one of my favorite yaoi mangas. It's called "Under Grand Hotel" by Mika Sadahiro. I remember posting an entry about it a while back. Anyways I was rather pleased with the ending and I demand you to read it! You download it via IRC at Nakama

I roughly have little more than a month to get 10 drawings and a entry done for Anime Expo.  So, I'll be rather busy for a while.  I need to take some photos of some of my art projects that I did in my Drawing and Composition II class.  Other than that, on the fly then.

It's over!  The spring semester is over and I passed both of my classes.  With school out, I have more time to focus on my illustrations that I need to draw to sell at Anime Expo this year.  I'm taking advice from Ricardo and doing a few fan service pieces for him.  But other than that, school's out and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it!  On the fly then.

To hell!

I the following to complete by next week...
  • Final Drawing in Drawing and Composition 2 (Art 103)
  • Extra Credit Term Paper in Astronomy I (Astronomy 100)
  • Take Home Quiz consisting of 20+ questions for Astronomy I (Astronomy 100)
  • Study for my final in Astronomy I (Astronomy 100)
  • Prepare the Anime Club's pot luck and party
  • Prepare Derek's Birthday gift and cake
As you can see, my Astronomy teacher loads up on the work.  My teacher for that class is cool and I enjoy it.  But, so much to do and so little time.  I'm praying that I get everything done, period

At least I'm getting a cut from that so called tax break checks.  I'm hoping it's the entire $600 that they promised.  If not, I'm going to be pissed.  Other that, I'm washing my uniform for work.  I swear that wearing shorts in this weather sucks (it's overcast and about 64°F).  I'm hoping that this gray spell will end soon.  Other than that on the fly then!

My site.

It seems that I paid the bill to late. It might take a while for my site to come back up. I'm hoping that everything is still there... If not, oh well I can always start again and I have my two online art dumps as back up. I was forced to wait until I got paid on Friday and wait 24 hours to get it deposited into my account to pay for my site, my current employer is a cheap bastard and doesn't offer direct deposit.

So bottom line, it will take a few days for my site to get back up. Sorry if this causes any inconvenience to you.

I might add that it's about almost 100°F here in Escondido? I'm not looking forward to working today... On the fly then.

Both Xanthe's Echo version 6.0 and Xanthe version 18. It's been nearly three years since I updated both this blog and site. Now since I'm starting to get back in the groove of things, it was time for a change. I have work later on tonight and will not get out until 11pm or later, depending on how many people are there.

If you are wondering, I now work at Chuck E. Cheese's as a cashier, it's not bad of a gig. At least they cater to students and I can request almost any vacation (if made long in advance). At least I'm not the mascot (hurray for being over 5'6") I just ring up customers and keep the salad bar stock. I'm still going to school at the moment and I have until the end of next month until the semester ends. I'm so looking forward to Anime Expo and Comic Con. I'm having artwork displayed at AX and Comic Con I'm just going to volunteer and crash at a friend's house.

Well that's it for now, I hope that you enjoy the new site and keep you eye on this blog. On the fly then!

It's been almost a year since I last updated both my blog and my site... A lot has happened in that span of time. I have been fired from one job and hired by another; whom I'm still working for at the moment. I have attended three disastrous conventions... I was nearly forced out of my house in the wake of a firestorm. I have passed both classes this semester; while I have failed one last semester. Through it all, I have experienced a lot. I have grown as a person and became very humbled from these experiences. I'm praying that 2008 will be a better year for me. Hopefully, I'll get over this cold...

Change is coming, I'm working on that change.

Is the homework, I hate homework. Especially, when you have to define 100+ words in one night. Thank god for online dictionaries, all you have to do is just cute and paste! I'm back at school and have been recovering from what it seemed to be the flu. I got off easy, I just got the "not-so-pain-in-the-ass-version" that I got from work. At least I got that and not the one that my co-worker got...

Other than that, I'm up late at this hour 'cause of homework an it's done thank god. At least the 100+ word part. I have an art assignment to work on next and that will be for tomorrow night. For right now, I'm going to bed.

On yeah, before I go. I'm working on a new version of Xanthe and Xanthe's Echo. Once I get a tablet and a better version of Dreameaver that is... On the fly then.

Explain why I'm currently outdoors with my trusty laptop and watching my Dad and my Boyfriend put posts in for my mother's new greenhouse.

Then again, it kinda turns me on to see my boyfriend period. Yes, yes, I'm that horny.

I hope that we can go out for some sweets and coffee later on. I'm craving Star bucks and something chocolate. I'm hoping that they get done soon so we can go out and do something.

I'm still trying to get use to having the weekends off, at my last job I almost never had a weekend off. Feels like I'm back in high school, somewhat. Other than that, it's rather windy and I want something warm to drink. I'll think I'll boil some hot water for some hot chocolate. On the fly then.

I haven't been up to date with this blog nor my site. Hell, I haven't drawn anything during the semester. I just have been both super lazy and busy all at the same time. Also, having a boyfriend who is really amazing to be with is another added bonus too.

For starters, I got a new job at a western apparel store. I help put the finishing touched on really glitzy clothing and so forth. It’s a 9 to 5 gig and I get the weekends off, they are cater to my school schedule as well. So that’s all good. I can finally kiss my other job good-bye, forever. I like it, in it that I can wear my normal everyday clothes and not have to worry about putting on a tacky uniform. Also, I don’t have to worry about my pain in the ass co-workers at my last job.

Other than that, I’m enjoying my Christmas vacation. Even though I did worked two jobs at the same time, the double paychecks are rather nice and I have some extra cash on me for once. With my new job, I’m getting paid $8.50 an hour instead of my current $7.21. In my last job, I’m pulling six or seven day work streaks. With the shortage of staff and so forth, my work schedule is a royal pain in the ass. Oh well, starting January 1, 2007 it’s all over for that job. I have never gotten a better Christmas gift if I say so myself.

In my current situation with my boyfriend, we are going to celebrate our fifth month anniversary today. I can’t believe that I have been with him for that long. Also, how close we have become and really comfortable I have become when I'm around him. He loves me for all my errors and defects and sees me as beautiful... I couldn't have found a better person that I would want to spend the rest of my life with him.

I can’t believe that this year has gone so fast. Also, I still can’t believe that I’m going to turn 24 next month on the 13th. My parents asked me what present that I wanted. I said to them that I want money to pay for my books. The price for classes may have gone down, but the price for books is still another little pain in the ass. Get this, for one book used it’s about $80 to $100. I might try getting my books either online or someplace else! I think I might do that this semester, might get some extra cash on my line. I need to save every little penny for the 2007 anime convention year!

In speaking on conventions, I’m going to Las Vegas for my 24th Birthday to attend Anime FF. It’s going to be about a six hour drive, but I’m game for it. Going to an anime convention with six other people is rather fun. In it that you might never know what’s going to happen! Anime LA is null and void because of my boyfriend's parents wedding on the same weekend, damn...

Considering all of the car problems me and my friends had with conventions in the past. With Anime Expo 2006 it was one of the cars that broke down. Then with Pacific Media Expo 2006 it was a rock flying into the wind shield and cracking it. My boyfriend is going to drive and he’s said that he’s going to drive super slow and have the hazard lights on to make sure that everyone sees him. I’m hoping that nothing happens on the way to and from Anime FF.

Well that's it for now, I hope that you guys had a Merry Christmas. I know that I did. Also I hope that you had a Happy New Year as well. On the fly then!

Memory lane for me has been really therapeutic with the recent hell of my part time job. I really wanna quit that job, so I'm filling applications one after the other. With the holiday season coming up, I have a good foot in the door at least. I hope...

Other than that, I have been watching old school anime that I saw raw back in high school. Mostly I have been watching "Cutey Honey" in all of it's forms. I want to see the new live action movie the most. Other than that, I have a date with the dentist's drill on Wednesday at 11am.

I also have a list of what conventions I'm going to or at least trying to go to for next year.
  • January 26-28, 2007: Anime Los Angeles (Van Nuys, California)

  • June 29-July 2, 2007: Anime Expo (Long Beach, California)

  • July 26-29, 2007: Comic Con International: San Diego (San Diego, California)

  • October 5-7, 2007: Ani-Magic (Lancaster, California)

  • October 27-28, 2007: Pacific Media Expo (Los Angeles, California)

To Maq and Ruby, I'm sorry but this time I cannot attent Otakon next year. As you can see Otakon is cutting it close and I will not have the cash for it. Maybe in 2008, I hope... I need a better job that pays more. I heard that they upping minimum wage soon, that's good for me. Well that's it for now, on the fly then.

PMX 2006

I just got back from PMX 2006. I had a grand time and before I pass out from lack of sleep, I'll tell you about it.

Saturday

I got up at 5am, I only had four hours of sleep. I would have gotten more, if my mother didn't wash the clothes on Friday. So I had to spent an extra three hours washing my clothes that I need for the convention. As a result I went to bed at 1am. So I get up, take a shower and went outside to wait for my friends. At 6am, we left with the warm sun rising and us listening to an anime mix CD that I burned the night before. It was a smooth ride...

Until a rock came from the car that was in front hit the windshield of the van that my boyfriend was borrowing...

Scared the crap out of all of us. No one was hurt, but it caught us off guard. So we managed to get the license plate number and made a few calls. So after that we made it in one peace. We checked in and after loading our stuff in the rooms, had a late breakfast at the local Denny's that was a block away from the hotel.

After breakfast, our roomies Christan and Matthew wanted to take some R&R and Ricardo needed to get a few things. I wanted to hit the dealer's room so we split up and I did a little recon. The dealer's room at PMX was tiny, nothing grand comparing to AX and Comic Con. But the prices for manga was dirt cheap. I picked up six mangas for about $30. After and hour or so, I got a call from Ricardo saying that he wanted to meet up with me back at the room. So with my new mangas in tow, I headed up to the room and dumped my stuff and took a little nap in the room.

An hour later, I was up and ready to see the sights. So with Ricardo with me, I hit the dealer's room and watched him blow about $200 in an hour. He got about 10 mangas and 7 DVDs all half price or 20% off. So we looked around the convention, until I got a call from one of our roomies who said that they were hungry. So we at the Carl's Jr. that was right next door to the convention.

After dinner, our roomies wanted to go to sleep because they didn't get any the night before. So me and Ricardo left to the anime veiwing rooms and watched anime until 10pm. I was tired and so was he and went to our room and called it a night.

Sunday

Getting up at 5am, 'cause it was daylight savings time and that screwed our internal clocks. We got up, packed up as much as we could and headed out for some breakfast at Denny's. After breakfast we loaded as our stuff into the van. I hit the dealer's room once again. I got lucky and picked up managed to pick up "Death Note" vols. 2-5. After looking around the convention, we had lunch at the Taco Bell/Pizza Hut Express and I don't want to eat there ever again...

Around 5pm or so we waited in line to see the UchuSentai NOIZ concert and ended up with the best seats in the house. It was rather amusing to watch the mosh pit from a distance. I kinda felt sorry for the staff who had to stand and keep them at bay. When the UchuSentai NOIZ concert ended, I got to see MECHANiCAL PANDA and there set was rather short. Then the final concert was the Random Ninjas. That was the high of the convention for me. There set was awesome and did a kick ass cover to HIGH and MIGHTY COLOR's "Ichirin no Hana" and Linkin Park's "Feint". When the concert was over we headed home, which was a rather smooth ride. So I got home around midnight and I didn't get up until 1:30pm today. So that ends my adventures at Pacific Media Expo 2006. If you guys were woundering here's what I got.

  • Slayer Special: Lesser of Two Evils

  • Bleach vol. 7

  • Aline Nine vols. 1-3 and Alien Nine Emulators

  • The Wanderer vols. 1-2

  • Death Note vols. 2-5

  • Aquarium

  • Several bookmarkers

  • Several cell phone charms

Not a bad haul for a 2 day convention. Ricardo blew $300 on several DVDs and mangas. Other than that, I had a good time with him. So did he, it was fun spending the night at a five star hotel. I hope to do that again at Anime Los Angeles in January. Well that's it for now, on the fly then!

Have I been having a bad week. I swear that someone has put a voodoo hex curse on me. I have been having a bad day at work from Saturday to Monday. At least today at school I managed to get a good chuck of my Hawaiian shirt project. I was able to cut the pattern out, iron the fusible interfacing on the shirt and sew the collar. All in the span of four hours.

In speaking of sewing, I have a good idea of who to cosplay for Halloween. I'm thinking of cosplaying Orihime from Bleach or redoing my Nico Hayashi cosplay from AX. With money being tight, I might redo my Nico Hayashi cosplay with getting a better hat and vest. The wig is still in good condition and I'm still in love with it. With Orihime, I need a few items for it. Like fabric and a decent wig and those cute hair pins. Well that's it for now, on the fly then.

Somewhat... I managed to sell some stuff from Ebay. Jamie, I can't thank you enough for your purchase from my store. Your order is on the way, I'm praying that the post office can read my damn handwriting that is...

I was also added to the next round mailing list for "The Art of Otaku", the guy said that he liked my artwork. So if I get my stuff published, that means I can get noticed more and get more commissions my way. Hopefully, I can quit my hedious part time job and go into art full time like I always wished for.

Also, I had a rather good day in my sewing class. I'm pretty close into sewing a cosplay for PMX. I just might do Aerith or Hinata, I can't decide.

Other than that, I got my new laptop from my boyfriend. I can't thank him enough for this. Now I can do my homework from up here in my room and not drag my stuff downstairs. Also, I can watch anime on Youtube in peace and comfort. So that's what's been happening in my life currently. Now to watch more "Karin" on Youtube, I love that anime now! X3 On the fly!
