http://community.livejournal.com/hbpmoviepics/33005.htmlDan just turned 19; he would've been 18 when he shot the movie. But if you didn't know any better, you'd think these were lost shots from PoA or something. He's all... w00bie-faced. Which he hasn't looked like for a long time, as a number of women will attest. ;) (I swear, it's almost like he skipped straight over the awkward-looking part of puberty into the making-older-women-feel-dirty part. I still crack up remembering angiej talking about nearly running her car off the road when she first saw Dirty!BeatUp!Chamber!Harry on a big CoS billboard.) I'd be inclined to theorize that for some bizarre reason WB was photoshopping PoA!Harry's head onto new poses, but then in the movie stills he's still got the same Mork-from-Ork backwards aging thing going on. And, since it's going around and I've got no delusions as to my status as a sheep (*baaaah*), another meme: Ship Meme! Give me a fandom, and I'll answer with the following:One True Pairing Ship:
Canon Ship:
"If this happens I'll stab my eyes out with a spork" Ship:
"You are one sick bastard" Ship:
"I dabble a little" Ship:
"It's like a car crash" Ship:
"Tickles my fancy but not sold just yet" Ship:
"Makes no canon sense but why the Hell not" Ship:
"Everyone else loves it but I just don't feel it" Ship:
"When all is said and done" ShipTags: dan radcliffe, harry potter, hbp, meme, shipping Current Mood: confused

Pulled a 12-hour workday yesterday - got home about 8:30 last night - and have pulled several 10-11 hours lately too. Makes being a morning person even more difficult. :P But at $17 an hour? You bet your ass I'm grabbing what overtime I can while I can. (I'm approved for it only through mid-August.) Especially since I'm growing more and more frustrated with my car's, erm, antics, and need to start putting together a down payment on a less old and crappy new one. Still haven't made a second Dark Knight showing yet, largely due to said overtime. Shooting for a digital showing down at the Warren on their almost-IMAX sized screen this weekend, hopefully tomorrow. *drools* Later in the game than everyone else, I'm geeking out just a bit more and more each day for Dr. Horrible - it's all so very Joss (esp. the ending, which you know you should expect from him, but somehow get lulled into forgetting you should expect), and the songs are so damn catchy. I downloaded them all onto my iPod and listened to them when I was working after hours last night. Amazing how the right music can make it so much easier to get through work. Pity I can't crack out the iPod during regular 8-5 hours... I'd get a lot more done. :P Even now, though, I still find myself humming or singing "Freeze Ray" under my breath. Joss continues to be made of win. *g* (Hmm. I know they tragically had to cancel the touring Once More With Feeling singalong, but maybe someone could put together a tour for this too? If we can't have OMWF, this is the next best thing.) Tags: dark knight, dr. horrible, jossverse, work Current Mood: tired

I'm very glad I skipped all the reviews and hype going in. But even if I truly had experienced the full scope of that hype, that would still be... wow. Two very dazed thumbs up. My gut instinct is that I enjoyed it more than Batman Begins, but admittedly it's been far too long since I've seen that. Those who said it was emotionally draining sure as hell weren't kidding, and Heath Ledger's Joker brilliantly struck that disturbing combination of being twisted as hell with fabulous comic timing. Heck, all the leads turned in fine performances, though I kept hearing Sirius whenever Gordon spoke. ;) Definitely warrants another showing, because I know rather a lot of it went over my head. I can't wait to see it at the big digital theater down in Moore; it's going to be fucking amazing. Lindsay, since we didn't make Indy there (it left Thursday, wahh) you up for this instead? :) And Christian Bale = ngggghhhhhh. Cleans up very, very nicely. That's okay Rachel, you go ahead with Harvey. *g* (I was slightly disappointed in the trailers - 20 minutes of them and no Clone Wars? Boo. Was cool seeing the new Terminator trailer, though.) Going to Portus, having four days of pure Potter t00biness has reawakened - for the time being, anyway - some of the squishiness I had for the series, enough to make me go back and try to polish up some of the (many, MANY) poor orphaned fics I've abandoned and unleash them on the outside world. So, time for another round of "Aeryn tries to clean out her closet!" One down, about two dozen to go. :P This is unbetaed - though I certainly wouldn't mind having one! - so all mistakes are cheerfully mine. Next up is probably another H/L fic, but I've got a H/Hr that's taking shape pretty well too. ( She's never been exactly sure what the fuss over boys is. )Now, WB just needs to hurry the eff up and give me a picture of the Slug date already! :P Tags: harry potter, harry/luna, luna lovegood, my fic Current Mood: chipper

As if being a beautiful liberal city on the Pacific coast (and hosting a Harry Potter con next year) wasn't enough: Proposed George W. Bush Sewage Plant Makes BallotHEE. :D Making plans to catch a late The Dark Knight showing tonight. I'm looking forward to it, but if anything, the near-universal praise for it actually makes me less thrilled. It seems like the pedestal is being set almost too high to be lived up to. The last time I heard this overwhelmingly positive a sweep of reviews was the LotR films, and I've made no secret of how I feel about those; I usually seem to go for the stuff that gets mixed/panned by critics. (Case in point, all six damn Star Wars movies.) So I'm just going to skim my eyes right past any more reaction posts or reviews out there until after I see it. ;) Because dammit, I do want to enjoy this movie. ETA: Granted, I'm not anticipating HBP as much as previous Potter flicks, but... four months before the movie comes out, and THIS is the best WB can do? (For an IMAX trailer, no less?) Come ON! We had 10 times more than this at this same point before OotP. At the very least show us a split-second shot of the cave sequence, or SOMETHING - that's one part of the movie that should look damn awesome in IMAX. ...and I disagree with them on a vast sea of counts, but it's lunchtime and I'm bored. ------------ Entertainment Weekly's Top 100 movies of the last 25 years list. - Bold the ones you have seen. Put an asterisk after the title* if you really liked it. - Cross it out if you saw a film and really disliked it. - Underline the ones you own. - I'm going to add: italicize the ones you've only seen part of. ( Sad, that I did better on this than the book list... )Tags: meme Current Mood: bored

Aside from them ending, anyway? The catch-up time. I've been at work for two hours and haven't even touched my backed-up paperwork yet - it's all been catching up on emails and phone calls and mailouts. (I'm taking my 15 minute break now, dammit.) Good news - or not, depending on your view of work - my boss's boss (my old boss) told me this morning they've approved me to work overtime for the next month! I'm very happy about this... even though I'm technically supposed to be an equal partner with the other lady working this licensing program, I've been at an extreme disadvantage because her position allows her to work overtime. And she has been, working until midnight many nights... and weekends. :P (Which, I think, does make this lady - who I griped about at length last year, but things seemed to have improved since then - still feel she's my "superior," which she's definitely not, and can direct me around.) So yay, extra money! I'll need it if I'm doing two long-distance cons next year. *g* Azkatraz on the West Coast, and SW Celebration 5 likely somewhere in the upper Midwest or East Coast. There's a part of me that'd love to do Comic Con, but given the choice between it and a Celebration - since there's no way I could do THREE huge cons in a year - yeah. The pure-SW love wins out every time. ;) I'll have Portus pics up tonight - not near as many as I had for something like Celebration because it's not as ostentatious or crowded a venue (plus a lot of the time you simply forget about taking pics), but hey. :) And anyone else who still wants to take a look at my extremely tl;dr recap, it's here. *squishes the new f-list addees from Portus* :) ETA: Just spotted this headline on CNN: " Anchor tumbles down hill in Zorb." And of course my still-fannishly-imbibed brain goes straight to zorb. Hee. (Hope you made it home all right!) Tags: portus 2008, work Current Mood: need CAFFEINE
