Boo to A Series of Unfortune Events... :(
Have you read Wen Spencer's other series? The first book is _Alien Taste_ which I just finished a couple days ago and it is awesome. Have you read the Obernewtyn series by Isobelle Carmody? Or _Green Rider_ and _First Rider's Call_ by Kristen Britain?

What about Garth Nix? Robin McKinley? Terry Pratchett? Patricia Wrede? Gail Carson Levine?

What else... _Juniper_ and _Wise Child_ by Monica Furlong are pretty cool. And all those dragons books by Susan Fletcher...

I guess that's enough for now.

Oh, and while I'm thinking of it, _Captain Jack Zodiac_ by Michael Kandel (sp?). And if short story collections count, _Flaming Arrows_ by Bruce Holland Rogers.

I should post this on some relevant entry, but I'm too lazy. Your program sounds nifty; it reminds me of VSRI (Villanova Summer Research Institute) a couple of years ago, except without soccer games supporting Philadelphia when surrounded by the only New York supporters in the city, and without Professer Fleischman. Keep enjoying it, and do try to make friends!

Incidentally, you don't know Em=[info]storyhobbit, an Alphan. Emily=Jayne=Cirabel is [info]mlejayne. Em says she doesn't mind you reading her stuff, but isn't used to strangers friending her for no readily apparent reason. I know a lot of Emilys lately, in addition to Joes and Sara(h)s.

Vale,
Xavid

I am well aware of the respective identities of
[info]storyhobbit and [info]mlejayne.

I've been trying to read different journals (often starting with those of friends of friends) and I like Em's writing, so I friended her.

I hope I'm not intruding...

She said she doesn't mind, she just thought it was weird. I went into "if I had done that, this would have been the reason mode". So, in other words, it's fine, just weird, and it's not necessarily a good idea for everyone. (E.g., people who friends-lock their journals.)

I understand. Thanks for the heads up.

(Although I wouldn't have been friending people with friends-only journals if I didn't know them. I'm not that oblivious.)

Yay for "Always a Fleischman to Me" lyrics!

This is what I call a pointless comment.

Just wandering by from your post on [info]metaquotes as I'm both bored and awake...

Have you read the three books put out by the Hendees? More specifically, Dhampir, Thief of Lives, and Sister of the Dead.

I find your journal's similarities to mine vastly amusing. Perhaps I shall randomly friend your journal so that you shall henceforth wonder who I am...
