8:51 am	Quarantine OK, if you want to have a fun haunted house experience for Halloween this year, save the money you would spend on Halloween Horror Nights, and go see Quarantine instead.  For 10 bucks (20 if you want popcorn and soda),  you get a frantic run through a creepy apartment building surrounded by ravenous infected people.  The shaky cam isn't as shaky as other movies, but is still a great storytelling device for giving viewers a first-person perspective experience for horror.  Much like a haunted house, I found myself anticipating the jumps, yet still falling for them, and laughing/applauding after they hit.  It was an enjoyable, fun sort of scary, like a haunted attraction.  Instead of feeling unsettled and overwhelmed like in Blair Witch Project or Cloverfield,  I came out of the film feeling like I had been on a good ride, wanting to go again.  Seriously, if anyone is interested, I might go see it again next weekend! 4:31 pm	Maus Haus Looks like Erin, Spazz, Dorah and I are going to Disney this Saturday.  It will be nice, the weather has been decent and I miss Epcot.  We are broke, but I will just be happy to be in the park really.  I'll probably tide the Maelstrom, and quote most of the narration.  I'm also interested to see the latest update to Spaceship Earth, although I will always like Walter Cronkite's narration the best.  I think they changed the Mexico ride since I was there last, so I will have to see that.  Soarin' should be interesting.  Anyway, I'm looking forward to it.  ^__^ (3 Comments |Comment on this)

8:44 am	Nightmare Revisited I listened to Nightmare Revisited, which is a compilation of covers from various bands of the Nightmare Before Christmas soundtrack.  While I do enjoy covers in general, and there were some good ones here, it really made me want to go back and listen to the originals half-way through the CD.  Sometimes music is better the way it was originally realized.   I'd still recommend it to Nightmare fans, as there are good interpretations, especially to pieces that involve the score itself as opposed to the songs. Korn's treatment of "Kidnap the SandyClaws" is fun, and Amy Lee's rendition of "Sally's Song" is a faithful homage, equally as haunting, melancholy, and beautiful as before. 11:12 am	By the pricking of my thumb... ... Something Wicked This Way Comes. My little emo storm has passed, and my health as improved greatly. Now I am smiling again as the first of October is here. I love October, and all the Halloween trappings an events that come with it. The promise of milder weather is always nice, as well. Erin and I try to go camping every year around this time for our anniversary. I have more or less made it a tradition to see Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D at Pleasure Island. We are hoping we can manage a night out at Mickey's Not-So-Scary, which is just a cheaper evening at Magic Kingdom really. 9:12 am	I Want To Outrace the Speed of Pain.. Ebb and flow. A great week followed by a shitty weekend. You ever feel like you got too happy for a moment so your chosen deity or cosmic force has decided to knock you down a peg? The cold is almost gone. I got so bad it scared me. I miss my cat. It's only a pet goddamit. My heart hurts. for good reasons and dumb ones. I felt so good those past few days that I touched an old memory, blew the dust off of it and smiled because the first bits of it were beautiful, like a a carousel in a snowglobe... but then I was reminded how it did not last, and how such pretty things never last. It's stupid. I should know better by now. Yet hear I am doing stupid things again. Why do I do this to myself? Sorry. Had to get this out so I can move on. Dont' mind me. (Comment on this)

9:07 am	Towelhead How was the movie Towelhead? Set up three DVD players side-by-side, and watch Lolita, Mommy Dearest, and American Beauty simultaneously. 10:38 am	It's [sorta] dead, Jim! Well, my laptop, which has been reliable enough to drag everywhere, despite my ability to cause more wear and tear than most people, has begun its downward spiral.  The video card, which is integrated, is dying.  Expired warranty, expired service plan.   It's been a good 3 years of playing WoW and working on art wherever I felt like doing so. So yea,  I'm gonna try to replace it.  I'm hoping to at least get something equal, since I can't afford a brand new one.  I'll most likely borrow Erin's for the time being. It's mainly a hassle because it became my main machine, using it more than my desktop.  My desktop is okay, but I think it needs a new Graphics card as well. Oh well... what can ya do? 1:18 pm	Crazy weekend will be crazy. Well, today marks my first year at Full Sail.  It feels good... I really like what I do.  Go me. My birthday is next Wednesday, and since a certain housewarming goes down that following weekend, It looks like I'll be expressing my jubilation over my age and anniversary at work this weekend. Friday, I'm off of work since I had to burn my last vacation day before my PTO resets.  That evening will also be spent celebrating Sam Strickland's b-day.  We need to wedge Kim's turning 21 in the weekend too, since her birthday is also soon. Saturday, I have been told I will be at checkm8 's house, no ifs ands or buts... I'm mildly concerned.  ;) Sunday, I am running Call of Cthulhu, goddammit!  I can't wait. Yea, it's fun to throw a big party and invite everyone,  but random friends hate each other or have some other reason to not show up, so fuck it. 36.  I made it this far.  Frankly I am surprised.
