It took God six days to make a world. It took DP&L eight days to restore power to one little suburb. Not because the job was so difficult but because they had so little manpower with which to accomplish the task. For day after day the trucks didn't come and didn't come. At last, yesterday, they finally arrived and did what needed to be done.

We are now once more on the grid, once more have cable and internet. Thank the Maker for small favors.

My prayers for those still off-line and those much further south, who got more than just Ike's 60MPH winds. What took eight days for us, may well take eight weeks there. Be well, be safe and may things be returned to normalcy as soon as possible.

Well done. Well done indeed.

In case you hadn't noticed, McCain's economic policies, his health policies... damn near everything he and Palin stand for... are opposed to what Hillary stands for. If you're voting for him for those policies, fine, but then why were you ready to vote for Hillary? If you're voting for him because he's not Obama, then you're guilty of being exactly what the GOP think women are;

Foolish, self-absorbed, emotional females who make their decisions based on spite and hurt feelings.

Congratulations. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

CNN reports that gay rights activist Dell Martin has died.

I'm just glad she was able to marry her partner before that. Condolences to her wife and my hopes that California will do the right thing and vote against the bill intended to strike down gay marriage.
