Oh Les Miserables...how I'm going to miss you. Again.
I was introduced to this show when I was very little...my dad had the CSR (Complete Symphonic Recording) and he played it ALL THE TIME. In the house, in the car, everywhere. And so I grew to learn the songs and to love them...especially Eponine. I think because my mom liked her songs and always played them when the cds were left in the car. So together, we would sing "A Heart Full Of Love", "On My Own", and "A Little Fall Of Rain". And as I grew up, I started appreciating these, especially OMO, in different ways. And like many people before they hadn't seen the show, thought Marius really was blind. Lol. For some reason, I remember I also thought "One Day More" was about Valjean sending Cosette away to school...hah.
I finally saw the show on New Year's Day in ....I think 2000. Maybe 2001. AMAZING cast of Jessica Snow Wilson as Eponine and Stephen Patterson as Marius...gah. Lovely lovely. I will never forget that day. It was the touring production in DC, and it was the only time I'd ever see the show. Sad, but true.
Oh, how I would have loved to see Lea Salonga in the show, as either Fantine or Eponine. She was amazing...I've heard audio of her in both roles.
But sadly, the curtain closes tonight...for the second time. Really, I find it stupid to close such a great show at all...but yanno, broadway's stupid like that. In any case...thank you for an amazing second run, Les Miserables. It was fun to follow all the new and the cast hype, and I hope for a second revival soon! I need to be in it, after all. ;)

Sooo I joined this broadway contest on broadwayworld.com...sing a Little Mermaid song, people vote for their favorite, and whoever wins gets to go sit in on the Little Mermaid On Broadway cast recording, and see the show! :) And I thought, "Why not." So I entered.

Today is a sad day in the world of Disney and theatre. Tonight will be the last time a Beast is cursed. Tonight will be the last time a beauty falls for a beast. Tonight will be the last time the petal falls. Tonight will be the last time an enchantment is lifted.
But it will not be the last we hear of Beauty, I'm positive of that.
This show has done wonders for Disney Theatricals -- it was the show to start them all.. Thirteen beautiful years have passed, and Disney (AND NYC both) owes them a great deal for what it has done for them. It was the first venture Disney took in broadway, and I think it was rather successful, don't you? 17 Belles and many follow-up productions in other countries, as well as a spin-off into amatuer theatre.
It's depressing that such a popular, top-selling show is going. It's to be replaced by The Little Mermaid, which is currently in previews in Denver. But WHY replace Beauty for it? Why not put it in one of the OTHER several theatres being emptied this year? So many shows are closing, even those nominated for Tonys this year! Broadway is not doing well, is it? Doesn't help to close the sixth longest show on it.
Ah well, I, along with many other fans and cast/crew members alike believe that the show will be revived one day. And I'll just offer to be the first revival Belle for them. ;) Aren't I kind?
Farewell, Beauty. You've taught me to sing. I only wish I could have seen you!

Just some comments about my final paper and my English course from my teacher that I wanted to save, so decided to stick here. XD (My final paper was on a job that I wanted. Naturally, I wrote about Disney!)
About my final paper:
Utterly impressive! One of the best I've ever seen! You did an excellent job separating each section. Also, I love the pic at the beginning of you with each character. Your writing is lively and flows, making it interesting to read. In addition, you referred to a good number of sources in the "What I Found Out" section. It seems like you learned a lot from this. I hope it helps you in the future. Awesome work!
I'm thrilled that you learned more about your dream of being a Disney character and some of what is required to do this. You are such a detailed worker and responsible, kind person that I am sure you will be a success. I hope this class has helped you and that you go on to achieve your dreams.
About my writing through-out the course:
Excellent responses! You also provide thorough answers which make it easy to read and understand your thoughts. I just want to tell that it is a privilege to have you in my class. Your creativity, work, and dedication in the course make it a delight to teach you. :)

We FINALLY found the American Idol. Game over. Why bother anymore with the talentless? Bailey Brown is the winner. :) She's the only decent one on the whole show. Not even amazing though...which is sad. But we'll see who gets better.

Step One
- Make a post (public, friendslocked, filtered...whatever you're comfortable with) to your LJ. The post should contain your list of 10 holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV.") The important thing is, make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
- If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) could get in touch with you.
- Also, make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.
Step Two
- Surf around your friendslist (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now here's the important part:
- If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes someone's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use--or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free--do it.
You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf--to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not--it's your call.
There are no rules with this project, no guarantees, and no strings attached. Just...wish, and it might come true. Give, and you might receive. And you'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

BRISBANE, Australia Sep 4, 2006 (AP)— Steve Irwin, the Australian television personality and environmentalist known as the "Crocodile Hunter," was killed Monday by a stingray during a diving expedition, Australian media said. He was 44.
Irwin was filming an underwater documentary on the Great Barrier Reef in northeastern Queensland state when the accident occurred, Sydney's The Daily Telegraph newspaper reported on its Web site. The Australian Broadcasting Corp. said Irwin was diving near Low Isles near the resort town of Port Douglas, about 1,260 miles north of Brisbane. A helicopter carrying paramedics flew to the island, but he died from a stingray barb to the heart, ABC reported on its Web site.
I'm just in total shock....RIP, Steve. :(

So first I must shamelessly promote me and Emily's new website. It's a basically random, chaotic forum with tons of OOC and fun (sections for games, music, video games, movies, tv shows, etcetc)...but its also a collection of RPGs! Basically, you go in with an rp plot, request a section on the forum for it, and you get to start an rp! And you run the said rp. Its reeeeally cool. Its like...RPG heaven. xD
I had a dream last night that I went to my HSM audition and I didn't have a song prepared. So I randomly started singing Marli's "White Light" and it was awful cause my voice was shot. ;; Needless to say I didn't get a part. And Ms. Taylor and ANN MICHELLE were the directors! >.< I haaave to find a song...audition is next week!
Tried my Eponine cosplay again...yay me?

"1000 Days" rough studio cut. I can't breeeeeeathe omg. I've listened to it like 20 times already. I love it. Its amazing...its a RADIO hit. Forget BFM...forget Since U Been Gone, Bad Day, You're Beautiful, and all those songs. THIS is gunna be the radio song. Everyone's gunna be singing it. It will be used at school dances. Weddings. Proms. It will be at the top of the Billboard charts.
AND THIS IS ONLY THE ROUGH CUT! Imagine how the final cut will be!
