| I was going to wait until later this evening to post the last place (especially since these posts can take anywhere from an hour to two hours to finish), but chibik3r0 has been asking me questions about it, so I might as well get it posted sooner rather than later. XD Location: Dupont and SpadinaThis was the second place we saw yesterday, but since it was also the best, I thought I'd keep it for the last post. ^_^ ( Let me show you around ... )Final Grade: A-And essentially, that's the whole place. It was rather tiny, but cosy, and by far the best place we'd seen since the Crazy Lady's place. DX I may not have had a lot of space for storage or anything, but for $890 a month you almost couldn't go wrong, especially since it was two blocks from Dupont Station and there was free laundry on the second floor. Pretty win if you ask me. ^_^ ( Here's the catch ... and how things finally started going in our favour ... ) So sadly this brings and end to "Adventures in House Hunting", though I'm rather tempted to turn viewing shitty apartments in Toronto into a hobby, just for shits and giggles. Especially since people seem to be rather entertained by it. XD But thank you my friends for coming along this journey with mai_sheri and I. We've enjoyed sharing it with you, since it helped us at least be amused by our lack of progress on the not-wanting-to-be-homeless front. We'll probably be moving near the end of the month, since there are still people very obviously living there right now. If anyone would be willing to help out when the day comes we would both be incredibly grateful! More details to follow in the next week or so, once we have them. ^_^ | |

| A poem sent to me by my mother:
Canadian Poem
It's winter in Canada And the gentle breezes blow Seventy miles an hour At twenty-five below.
Oh, how I love Canada When the snow's up to your butt You take a breath of winter And you nose gets frozen shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful So I guess I'll hang around I could never leave Canada 'Cause I'm frozen to the ground!!

| Updating from my usual updating spot - my blarg computer at the Box Office. (It's the most internet I've had in almost a week, so I can't really complain). This is essentially a post to say that I'm home safe and sound (arrived with shiro_hikaru and amythyu on the overnight bus at around 8:30am this morning, dropped stuff off, went for breakfast and then ran straight out to work). The (extended) weekend was awesome! And dare I say it, even Sephirawesome! I missed seeing all of you wonderful folks at DTAC yesterday, but I still can barely believe that this weekend even happened, mostly since it came together so completely last minute. Not to sound like a broken record, but I think this was the best trip I've taken yet with people. The con itself was rather blah (this Hobbystar, just the American version), which pretty much speaks for itself, but New York the city is a fantastic place (even it it did have me rather disoriented and homesick 40% of the time because I would get confused and think I was back in Toronto somewhere, only to realize that I had no idea where I was and where I was going @_@). It also totally felt like CN to me, even if the temperature was far to cold for it to actually be CN. The reason it felt like this to me was that at any point I could just get up and leave the con and explore the city. Unlike every American con I've been to thus far I didn't feel trapped by the convention center/hotel, as in being stuck in the middle of suburbia with nowhere else to go. Just like at CN, the city was right at my fingertips, and if felt nice not to loose the opportunity this time. Anyway, I shouldn't get too in depth into my post-con wrap up just yet, as I'm working at the Box Office for the next 7 days straight (excluding tomorrow. I'm at the office tomorrow) and I'll need something to post about over the next few days. Actually I'm working the next 14 days in a row ... weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! And somehow I have to work on costumes and stuff for Ohayocon in between all of that too ... @_@ Oh, and I'm totally motivated to work on jewelry right now and not on costumes ... oh dear ... And work is boring. :: flails :: | |

| So I took the quiz, looked at the answers, decided to fill out more question. I looked at the new results, and they only differed slightly from my original list. So then I decided to answer even MORE question ... and the top ten list didn't change. I think this website is telling me I should be a magician ... XD 1. Go to Career Cruising. 2. Put in Username: nycareers and Password: landmark 3. Take their "Career Matchmaker" questions. 4. Post the top ten results. 1.Costume Designer 2.Tailor / Dressmaker 3.Special Effects Technician 4.Upholsterer 5.Actor 6.Artist 7.Makeup Artist 8.Director of Photography 9.Magician 10.Fashion Designer Even though the meme only wanted the top ten list, I feel like giving a shout out to those career options that didn't make the cut: 14.Locksmith (I'm getting visions of Resident Evil here for some reason)22.Heating, Air Conditioning, Refrigeration Tech 23.Plumber ( Um ... yes ... when I was a little girl I dreamed of growing up to wear pants that showed my crack ...) 34.Ship's Crew (I wanna be a pirate!) 35.Inventor 36.Music Teacher / Instructor (And teach what ... the wax paper kazoo and box of macaroni?)37.Glazier (wtf?)40.Elevator Installer and Repairer There were some funny ones on my original list too, like "Boilermaker". Anyway, more posts from me hopefully later tonight. Need to catch up with everything that's been going on around here, and hopefully it'll be in a short and readable context. But don't hold your breath ... - Location:Wycik

| I've been home from Chicago since Monday evening, but I've been too lazy to blog. I'm at work until 6pm tonight, so I figured that now would be the best time to update.
In general, the extended weekend was awesome. I was really nice to get away from everything and just hang out with people. Everyone I roomed with was awesome and I love you guys a lot. I'm sorry if by the end of everything I was so bitchy that you wanted to shoot me in the head ...
I really like how they've remolded the Hyatt. I just wish that I had more costumes with me that fit the interiors more and felt comfortable enough to bother people for photos. If I get to go to ACen next year it’s definitely something I will try and plan for.
As it stands the only costume I managed to wear all weekend was my RO High Wizard costume, and that didn't even happen until Sunday. For the most part I'm really happy with how it’s been turning out and I think that with a few little touch-ups it'll be finished and I'll be happy. The only thing I don't like about it and don't know how to fix is that, for some bizarre reason, the costume eats my waist. I know I have one, but for some reason all the dark brown makes it disappear. Photos with lionboogy on Sunday completely made my weekend and made up for not making it to the masquerade on Saturday night.
It's easier to do highlights at this point, since I'm not in much of a storytelling mood, like I usually would be for con reports. So yeah, here they are:
Highlights
- Beautiful clouds that looked like cotton candy from the plane going to Chicago.
- Smooth flight
- Getting to sleep on a cot all weekend instead of the floor. It was much appreciated shiro_hikaru. Thank you so much! ^_^
- Awesome roomies!
- Yummy food every night of the con. Whether we ate out or stayed in, everything was so good! I just wish I had been able to eat more and not waste so much ...
- Squeaky Dog Toy Theatre at Target. XD
- Tiny scaled version of camping tents at Target! They were so awesome!! They had little zippers and everything and looked like real tents! I wanted one so badly! XD
- Ridiculous conversations all weekend, especially at dinner on Friday night. squall1882, you kill me. XD
- Seeing people I hadn't seen in awhile, even if it was just briefly.
- Having a traveling companion on the way back from the con so that I didn't have to figure out O'Hare and Buffalo airports on my own. + not having to take the Greyhound. Much love to my awesome traveling companion chibik3r0. ^_^
- Making a decent profit in Artist Alley. - The weather was awesome. ^_^
- RO on Sunday with Chris and photoshoots with Lionel! I'm still so happy about that that I could burst!
- Although I was falling asleep, on Sunday night at the bar I was totally in love with the music they had playing in the background. ^_^
- ALL MY LUGGAGE MADE IT TO CHICAGO AND THEN BACK TO CANADA!!! Yay for not loosing suitcases 2 years in a row! Though the condition they came back in is another story in itself ...
Lowlights:
-Only really coming back with the amount of money I came with. It's better than coming back broke, but I'm so confused as to where all my money went ... all I bought was a $4 poster!
- Completely neglecting to check out the dealer’s room more than just once on Friday.
- Baggage handlers suck. I think everyone's luggage came back battered in some way. Chris and I watched them manhandling peoples baggage at the airport and it was just disgusting. No wonder why the little boxes in my bag came back broken. DX
- Taxis. I still don't like them, even though they're the easiest way to travel around a city one isn't familiar with. They're just so damn expensive when you total them all up.
- Still not managing to see any of the con. For next year (if there even is a next year) I may rethink how I spend my con time and how I finance my trips.
- Not getting my costume done in time, locking myself out of the hotel room Saturday afternoon and never making it to the masquerade because I felt so ashamed. Now I'm blacklisted from the ACen masq ... DX
- Not having the money to stay and hang out with people for the rest of the tourist invasion.
First photo posted from the weekend:
I'll probably only end up posting Lionel's pics, since I've seen one from Fansview and I look stupid, so I figure all my other "con" photos will look equally as silly. Oh well ... I'll probably end up posting more later today if I get really bored. :: le sigh ::

| So, I now reveal to you my OMG!YELLOW!: I have a lot more work to do on it before it's finished (the skirt needs more foof, I had a ... misunderstanding ... with the facing, so I should probably attempt that again, the organza flowers need to be finished and attached, straps attached, zipper in the back, lining, etc ...). If I can find time this weekend to work on it and hopefully finish it I might try and sell it a.s.a.p. since I really really need money for rent in May and I'm not in love with my costume. The OMG!YELLOW! of it bothers me ... but hey, the actual construction of it (not the pattern) was done over 3 or so days and I got 90% on it, so I'm proud of what I managed to do in such a short time frame (for me) and my mark makes me think that it was less of a failure that I originally thought it was. Oh well, back to my dye binder ... - Mood:stressed

| Bunny Ball (Theatre School formal) was fun, but drinking and drunk people still confuse me. Two days to put together my binder for dye class ... Bed now ... stress about last assignment later ... - Mood:exhausted

| First of all, finally a picture of my babies: Secondly, even though I didn't manage to get any of my homework done today, I went to work, and then I saw people. Lots of people. ^_^ Brief time with folks who were fabric shopping (you know who you all are and I'm too tired and my head hurts too much right now to type them all). They went off to dinner, which I couldn't afford, so I left, and yet I ended up at McDonald's with my roommates only an hour later (I swear it was the promise of Easter Egg McFlurries that drove me there!). Then on the way home I received a call from thepuffytaco and _lostndelirious, who just so happened to be in town and walking only a few blocks south of me! All three of us ended up somewhere in the basement of Ryerson campus just talking about tv shows, people, cons and just generally catching up for hours. I've really missed you guys! I promise that I will make myself available for at least a little Scoobie quality time at some point during AN, even if its just a warm up for Trek. ^_^ Now I'm super sleepy, my head hurts, and I have a crap load of stuff to do before Bunny Ball tomorrow night, but today was fun, and that's all that mattered. ^_^ EDIT: Sorry Chris! I didn't realize there was a message on my phone until I woke up this morning. I didn't have a signal in the basement of Ryerson, so apparently it didn't turn up on my phone until almost 2am anyway, though I have no idea how I missed your call in the first place ... Sorry! >_<</lj></lj> - Mood:happy

| So I've been periodically looking for white fabric with black polka dots for over a year now. I finally found almost EXACTLY what I've been looking for on ebay, but guess what, the seller won't ship outside of the US. :: headdesk :: Who knew that this retarded costume would cause me so much grief .. Anyways, is there any way I could convince one of my lovely Americaland friends to either act as my proxy or let me have it shipped to them and then to me? Pretty please? All I can offer in return is my undying love and/or (if your into shiny things) something free from my table at ACen or AN. ^_^ - Mood:annoyed

| Hey look! A public post! I do these anymore? Nothing important in this post other than a bunch of photo whoring that I'd meant to do ages ago (and tried to do 3 times at work, only for the browser to hate me). Sometime today (maybe) I should have a post that actually, you know, says stuff, but until then I give you some of my favourite photos from the Kariya Park photoshoot I did with stillvisions (with the assistance of super ninja infini_iv) back in May. I haven't even bothered to count how many photos I have from this shoot, but there are a lot, so follow the link on the first picture (outside of the cut) to see all my favourites, and look under the cut for my favourites of my favourites + commentary. ^_^
( Pictures and commentary behind the cut... )In other completely not news, how the hell has my fugly Fish-eye picture in my gallery received more views than ANY of my Matsuri pictures? The mind, it boggles ...
