Or at least that's what the douchebag at ModifiedLiving.com would have you believe.
This afternoon I got yet another random IM from a fan of his web site. This story requires a little bit of an explaination (I'll keep it to the point):
First of all, I've had the same name on the internet since I first started using it circa 1999 (yeah, our family was the last to get everything). Because of the various video/voice chat communities I've been a major member of (Mplayer, Camera Cafe, Livve, Paltalk) I've become somewhat of a legend in the chat arena. There's even a song written about my internet fame. But don't believe everything you hear in it.
Well one day whilst surfing the net, I was directed to ModifiedLiving.com, where this guy claims to have more internet fame than me. Right off the bat, I notice his AIM screen name is listed so I decide to hit him up and see what he's all about. As I'm talking to him, his douchebag level is rising and I'm scanning his web site at the same time. That's when I notice that he's got an entire section devoted to pissing people off on AIM
This conversation took place over a year ago, and there it is, on the top of his list (I guess I AM a tough act to follow). Yes, the "girlfriend-boyfriend" conversation would be me. I was with Casey at the time, and unfortunately got him involved in the whole mess. The guy, of course had to add in things that I didn't say so he could get Casey sufficiently pissed and cause more drama, but it didn't really work for him.
As a result of this conversation, my personal web site has gotten a lot more traffic than it would have otherwise. AND, as an added benefit, I get the occasional random IM from a fan of his site with lots of "LOL, UR A HO" or "HAHA DUDE U GOT PWNED." So I've also been given insight into the intellect of his fan base, which is great.
Some people might find it all annoying, but I've learned to love and embrace my celebrity.
