Time to talk about another freakish hobby of mine. Cosplay. I simply love it! Why? I can't really tell as I've always like dressing up like animals, princesses and many other stuff since I was a little child. I used to get any random piece of clothe from my wardribe or my mum's and dressed up like a kitty o a Genie or....whatever. I always liked those sort of things...*shrugs* It was not up until I started liked manga and anime I realised what cosplay was and of course I began to plan how could I dress like this or that character...I remember my first attempt was Bidel from Dragon Ball for II comic con in Madrid, but my friends didn't want me to go dressed up and cosplay her so I gave up then.
The following year I found a friend that wanted to make my first cosplay with me. María, she's called and she also liked manga so we chose Team Rocket for our costumes. It was really simple to do and let's admit it, too, pretty ...dull. It was not the best cosplay ever but we did our best, really and we had a great time. From them, I've cosplayed many manga and anime characters and I became more conscious of my "passion" for cosplay and my stardards were higher and higher.... I remember how I've been attended to conventions dressed as Sanosuke from Rurouni Kenshin, Ranma too, Xellos was my first important cosplay and I luckily had the chance to organizate a pretty big group of cosplayers so we could go as the full Slayers cast (Lina, Gourry, Amelia, Zelgadiss, Sheelfeel, Xellos and Martina, actually) and then I told myself "geez, this is SO fun!!"..Kaitou Kiddo was also one of my chosen characters althought I never actually read the manga (I did read Meitantei Conan, though), but the big boom came when I went to Barcelona Manga Con dressed up as Harry Potter. It was amazing, everybody wanted a photograph and I felt like a Star, it also helped I was going with some friends wearing Quidditch robes and of course my ex-girlfriend cosplaying Draco. We made many rabid fangirls Squee. The following year, as I hadn't have much time, I used simple robes to dress up like the White Mage from Final Fantasy (XDD not as popular as Potter of course). But then, somehow I started to think about the following cosplay even before I finished the one I was using that right moment....Aha, I was planing on advance what would I be using the following convention (that's what I call "freakevolution"XDDD). And so, I ended up in orange, as Red XIII from Final Fantasy VII (yeah, I figured out how to make a GIANT Cat-tiger-lion thing and make it look fine, too). I took "Cats" as inspiration and well, some people even thanked me I had cosplayed that characters because it's not a common cosplay you can see in any convention (unlike Naruto or if we keep thinking in FF, Sephiroth, for instance). And I thought everything'd be over then, as I lacked new ideas and people to go cosplaying with...but Fullmetal Alchemist came in my way and convinced some friends (in this case studiokawaii and straysayu :3) to come to Madrid...not for a convention this time, I wanted more and I planned how could we make the photos look realistic...look, how to explain it, as if the characters came to life. That when I started to like photoshoots. We choose some place that'd fit with the cosplay and then get together and start posing, planing new photos....photoshopping them (yeah, I mean to fix them with photoshopXD)....again it was a success, we were perfect (althought I was a fatty ball at that time) and everyone had only compliments to the way we did it^__^. And again, we went into a new fandom and then again we wanted to cosplay, this time it was Phoenix Wright. I think it's kinda unnecesary to explain about the games now so let's skip the boring part, right? We finaly got to dress up like them (and we are a pretty big group too) not only in a Manga Con but also we organised a Phothoshoot at home a pair of weekends ago (we're still fixing the photos so we can show) and it was great, really.
WE're already preparing the next one. It'll be about Ossu Tatakae Ouendan! , it's also a Nintendo DS videogame and we've got to plan it carefuly so we can get to do a perfect cosplay once again ;)

And I think that's all for now :3

After last gyakuten meets Orchestra 2008 and listening to the newSteel's samurai song with lyrics, I decided Mitsurugi had to sing itwhenever they go into a karaoke box XD.(and Naruhodo'd be reallymortified about it, really as he doesn't like the show and Maya andReiji are both so damn FREAKY)
all right all right, this is quite OC, but my....wouldn't it be Incredibly FUNNY? Plus Mitsurugi deserves lots of love. TONOSAMAAAAAAAN FLY HIIIGH!

I’m hyper.
I just came back from Otakucenter, the new anime & merchandising shop that is about to open here in Madrid. The place is not open yet but it’s really promising. I got to go in because I found out an old friend of mine is working there so I could visit the shop while it’s not officially open (although they already attend to conventions and stuff). The place is, of course, under construction but it’s really big considering how awfully small manga shops are here, there’s a lot of place for merchandise and stuff and in the back of the shop (stuffed with boxes for now) they’re planning to install a huge TV screen, a pair of DDR machines (plus a stepmania PC) and Japanese vending machines (yeah, onigiri and other jap stuff)….I’m interested also, because they told me they also want to exhibit some pieces of work from different manga artists in Spain (what? XD I can always daydream). For now all that I saw there were boxes and empty shelves (and some things inside the boxes as pullips and little dolls called “Puki Puki” according to what studiokawaii told me a moment ago that made me drool-a-lot). Furthermore, they’ve got more than reasonable prices, honestly. As far as I know, they’re selling pullips for 75 euros and that’s what I’d pay for the same doll in Ebay (shipping included) so if we compare it to the rest of the manga shops in Madrid….it’s awesomely cheap (in Atlantica, the most popular shop right now a single mobile strap can cost up to 15 €). One of the shop managers told me that they’ll keep all the prices as low as possible because they get everything directly from Japan (they believe that people will buy more from them if prices are low and that way profits increase). You can find them here --->http://www.otakucenter.es/ And also it’s really sunny and cool today and good weather makes me happy.

[23 Apr 2008|08:53am] |
Finally....
I got my order from parapu. It was a customised outfit for my Dal Coral, the doll I bought to customise it as Cordelia; our lovely seer from our series Midnight Hunters (this reminds me I still have to give it a second try and see if we can get it published). I was very excited as this took an awful lot of time and I really want to finish the doll’s customisation.
( Photos and explanatory stuff )
And now, give me a little help:
