This makes me sad. I'm willing to accept that this show was probably garbage, but when I was 8, I thought it was awesome. And now, for the rest of my life, I'm going to have fucking Will Ferrell's eminently punchable fat face clogging up those memories, presumably with fart jokes. Thanks, dickheads.

Ferrell In Land Of The Lost

Will Ferrell will star in a feature-film remake of the 1970s TV show Land of the Lost. Universal acquired the feature rights from Sid and Marty Krofft, executive producers of the original NBC series, who will produce the feature for the studio.

Adam McKay, a former Saturday Night Live writer who directed Ferrell in Anchorman, is attached to direct, with Chris Henchy and Dennis McNicholas signing on to adapt the screenplay, the trade paper reported.

Is it just me or does anyone else find Farrell UN-funny. I just can't get past the annoying (and way tooooo long) cheerleader skit on SNL.

My roommate wanted me to put Elf on my Netflix queue. When I outright refused, she tried the argument: "But it's Will Farrell!"

Actually, by some miracle, Elf did not suck. I was forced to watch it and I was surprised by how funny it actually was. And I despise Will Farrell...

Probably one of the best zines I have ever seen in my life was this skate zine from Seattle called Sleestak. Ten years ago, everyone was like "where the hell did you get your name from?" and in a year, if I ever tell anyone about it, they'll say "oh, is that about that cowbell guy?" Great.

I think there was an episode of Land of the Lost where this beautiful woman appeared and one of the characters of the show started to have a romantic relationship with her. In the end, the woman exploded and she turned out to be a robot.

If it was this show, it scarred me for life. And if so, this robot/woman should appear in this movie and blow up Will Ferrell.

That movie set needs a visit from SRL. I agree that the show probably was crap, but I was also entralled by it. I never missed an episode, and it was one of the most effective carrot/stick combos for my parents to use in getting me to behave.

It's bad-enough that this simply should not be made into a feature film at all, but if they're using that jackass then they're planning on making it a comedy.

Maybe they can truly skull-fuck our childhoods by casting Chris Kattan and Anna Faris in supporting roles.

The show may have been garbage taken as a whole. However, it must be noted that Larry Niven and Theodore Sturgeon wrote many of the scripts, with this fabulous side effect: the Sleestak language was complete and used consistently for all three seasons, with a couple hundred words, real grammar rules, all that language stuff. Rad.

It doesn't sound so bad; the article doesn't say which part he's signed on to play. I'm hoping that he's just going to reprise his role as Marshall Willenholly. If we're really lucky we'll even get detailed shots of his skull getting banged apart like a honeydew on the waterfall rocks. Then, for the rest of the movie, there could even be shots with his decomposing corpse in the background.

That's not hoping for too much, is it?

It probably is. He'll probably wind up playing Chaka.
