Well, I finally dumped the contents of my digital camera onto my
computer, so I can give a little report for those of you who missed
Michele's gallery opening: Panic at the Bistro!
Well, no place better to start than
with the art. There were four contributors. First, of
course, the was the lovely and talented Michele:
You can see that she mounted her paintings on either found cabinet doors, or plexiglass that we actually got from Linda Medley when she moved back to Portland. It had this really great effect, and really made her stuff stand out.
Michele also had a couple 3-D pieces. She makes these wings that
are unbelieveable. The brown ones are mine, and the white ones
now belong to Jacie:
And she also made this super sweet fantastic puppet, the Bunnysaur! It is the greatest!
Next to Michele's work was Cory's:
Cory's art was an interesting contrast to Michele's, as you can see here:
Next was Brett's. Brett is a Tom Waits fan. You can see a
Black Rider piece here, as well as an Alice one, I believe:
And finally was Jamie! I never really got a chance to meet him, but his art was cool. I liked his "Caligola" piece:
So who was there? The opening was quite a success! It was
pretty packed at times, and people seemed to be responding well to the
work! It was "First Friday" of the month, so it was pretty
hoppin'! Among those attending, a few got caught on camera:
There was Eleanor, Drew, and David:
Hunter and Laura:
And Michele's Dad, who arrived at our front door completely unannounced
that day! All the way from Colorado for the weekend! What a
surprise! (Jacie, part of JP, and Michele are also in this picture):
I swear I got more photos, but some of them must have been erased
=( Oh well, that should give a pretty good idea of how it
was. It was incredible and fun.
