supporting the troops from the Republican wing of the Republican party
Stephen Moore of the Club for Growth (kind of an extra-curricular 527 project of the Wall Street Journal opinion trust) took time out from funding challenges against insufficiently hawkish Republican moderates to share these tidings of comfort and joy with the lucky duckies who are over in Iraq getting shot at:
"We don't want to put troops into a situation that is increasingly a public-relations problem for the president," said Stephen Moore, president of the Club for Growth, a group of conservative political donors. "No one wants body bags coming home in September and October."

See, I knew there was something wrong with this.

A tunnel full of americans, making Our Fearless Leader look bad.

Don't be too angry with them, though. It wasn't entirely voluntary.

For them, anyway.

... a public-relations problem? Oh, why be that harsh? Really, you could just call it a "headache" or a "spot of bother." After all, I'm sure that's exactly how W sees them.
