So it's been what, two days? not even, and the uniter thing has gone by the wayside. Bush is going to spend his political capital, Norquist is snickering about slicing the balls off of congressional Democrats, and every news story is talking about how we lost 'cuz we ain't moral.

Oh, and social security is on the block.

I am pleased to inform you that there are two Republican incumbents in Louisiana in runoff elections with their Democratic challengers for House seats.

Anyone want to send a message to Congress about what the voters think of all this "mandated" activity we're being promised that our elected president didn't talk about before Tuesday?

Be nice to make a few folks from moderate districts nervous about the midterms early on.

Drop a few bucks on this. A lot of people crossed the fence in the days before the election, and Karl Rove has a very long memory. They're gonna have to end the honeymoon early before their throats are slit.

We can help end the honeymoon on December 4th.

Let's face it, the political death of a thousand cuts is coming for this guy. Don't you want to have a hand in it?

Hope you don't mind.... I have a quick request

In an effort to kill the election blues and encourage people to get out and do something constructive that makes a difference, I've spend the last couple of days compiling a list of volunteer and activist organizations (political and non) to join and support.

It's located here: http://zarq.livejournal.com/201654.html

If you think of any that I could add, (NY-centered a plus) please let me know?

Thanks,
Jon

Yesterday I heard a lot about the exit polls being right everywhere but Florida and Ohio. Also about districts in Florida that had a lower turnout than expected. I don't see much about this today. Do you have any thoughts? Is this stuff credible?

I'm working on that.

For the moment, let's just say that the international observers observed that our elections process suffered in comparison to recent elections they've covered in wartorn third world countries.

As always, thanks for the good work.

Well if by not moral they mean homophobic, as they apparently do, instead of, say, opposing torture and corruption and all that, then consider me glad to be morally impaired.

I only find solace in the prophetic words of fafnir: "
There've been some technical problems with America; we're working on getting them fixed. Your regularly scheduled democracy should be coming back in another four-to-ten years or so."
