5:48 pm	Halloween Today I made my first Halloween cake for a customer at Ben N Jerry's. No one in that place loves to make/decorate cakes as much as I do. People think they can just throw a gob of butter cream on top and dump rainbow sprinkles on it. I actually like to take time and draw it out on a piece of paper first. The birthday girl wanted cats and pumpkins and a witch on a broom. My original design was going to be a colorful pin-up ish witch holding onto her hat as she flew with a scaredy cat behind her and a pumpkin on the front. Then I realized this cake needed to be done in an hour. So I scratched those plans and made a sillouetted witch with a moon and the inscription "HAPPY BIRTHDAY KAILA" was around the brim of the adorable witchy-poo flying in the air. Pumpkins and cats lined the edges of the cake with deeeeelicious M&M's sticking out of the sides. The funny thing about ice cream cakes is that they tend to melt quickly, so you have to work fast. After I was done, I stepped back and marveled. Not so much as how good the cake came out, but I was happy that Halloween was soon. Not so much happy as in I still don't know who/what i'm going to be, but it's just a generally happy feeling I get. I do my tradition of watching Nightmare Before Christmas, I still trick or treat (24th year), I still play pranks on my friends (either you're with me, or you face my toilet paper infused wraith), and I also drag out all of my zombie movies and watch them end to end. It also means Rocky Horror has it's biggest audience, so we really have to step up a lot of things for the shows. I lso have my first WEBS Halloween show. That should prove to be awesome, just saying. I just hope I don't have work on Halloween. Technicaly, it's a religious holiday for me. Um... I guess that's it... 4:12 pm	Got my hems so high they'll think I'm being cheeky. This week is going to kick my ass, I tells yah. Today i'll be going to mother's house again to finish my Nurse Ansalong costume as well as do a few touch ups to my other costumes. Hopefully we can get everything done tonight so I can start packing. Tomorrow I'm at work at the ice cream factory and pray that I don't screw up my shoulder again. Scooping ice cream all day has it's disadvantages. Then I come home to do every single piece of laundry that needs to be done and try on all of my outfits and immediately pack them into my bag. I'm really horrible with getting my things together in time and being early for anything, so I'm gonna try and eliminate that habit for this weekend. Wednesday I work early and as soon as I clock out, I'm on my way down with my Snugglebear (oh god, that was so gay). We have to check in Wednesday if we want to get our rooms for the weekend, so I can't help with load-out, but we will be there to help unload in the morning. Thursday there's so much work to be done with setting up the House of Blues and preparing rooms for parties. I seriously can't wait. It's going to be so awesome. Friday is Shock Treatment and my biggest part is singing "Look What I Did To My ID" as one of the sexiest characters (besides Farley, of course) :) It's the hair. And my ginormous ass. I plan to just be in my outfit all day. My mother is making it for me and I couldn't be happier. Saturday I'm going to be manning the registration table with Janice. I will be in my lovely Frank Von Furter costume WITH OMG TINY HAT!!!. And afterwards, possibly get some food and walk around for a while. Pat and Nell should be over that day, so it will definetely be an exciting night getting to meet them. When I was a nimble little middle school goth girl, I always wanted to be Magenta because she was so goth, it hurt. That and the hair. Give me a week and I can give you the biggest natural Magenta hair ever. Then I transform into the best Transylvanian EVER, Mrs. Imogene Claire for the midnight showing of THE ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW! And there was much rejoicing... yayyyy...Then I'm to get shit-faced and dance all night long. We have a picnic at the beach afterwards and then we go back home. I'm so excited and hope to see most of you guys there! I'm off to mother's house.. ttfn! =: ) Current Mood: busy (Comment on this)

Too Hot for Secaucus, EXXXOTICA New York Can't Be stopped as It Announces a New Venue — Victory Tradeshow Management is proud to announce that EXXXOTICA NY show will go on as planned at a bigger and better venue, the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center located at the Raritan Center in Edison, NJ, this Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 12-14. So, the Mayor of Secaucus, Dennis Elwell, made a big stink about the Exxxotica NY convention being held in his city. While, yes it is creepy that it's behind a child daycare facility, I'm pretty sure that if the mayor didn't make such a big stink about it, no one would have noticed. Plus the fact that everything that is happening is going to be taken place indoors with no windows and a very strict age limit. These very conservative idiots think that Ron Jeremy is going to jump the playground fence and let kids use his danger as a sea-saw. The Quote Of The Day from Mayor Elwell was, "I don’t like people walking around Secaucus that like being whipped and burned.” In my opinion, I think the crotchless thong he was wearing under his suit when he said that was a bit too small. The convention has been moved to the same space where The Floating World was held, so all of the people who like to be Cool Whipped and BBQ'd can find a save haven there. And god bless them too! I'm telling ya, if I didn't have Salon Con this Saturday I would have been there in a heartbeat. 4:47 pm	The Tiger Lillies in NYC I've been a fan since both mostlybent  and  dantehoh introduced me to them last year. Since then, I have performed 2 numbers with weburlesque  to both "Crack of Doom" and "Beat Me" with more new ideas comming round for future events. This band sort of reminded me what P.T Grimm would have been like before WWII. And almost everything they do with another person in mind just amazes me that much more. They've worked with Alexander Hacke of Einsturzende Neubauten in their musical rendition of H.P Lovecraft's stories.  (Amanda, don't listen to this song.) Well Friends your humble host has finaly decided to throw his first big event. And what better that a competition for that which has given me so much joy and entertainment for the past year, facial hair! So here is the deal on September 6th at the Freak Bar and Sideshow I will be hosting Coney Islands First Annual Beard and Moustache Competition! The doors open at 7pm so get there early to regester your moustache or beard in six catagories, Moustache Styled, Moustache Natural, Beard Stlyed, Beard Natural. Sideburns and Best all Around. During the pre party we will have the smooth sounds of Fishermans Tiki Trio along with a strait razor shaving demestration by my good friend and barber Michel Haar. Blockhead Lager will also be avalible!!
