Oh, and speaking of sex

Has anybody noticed that Questionable Content has been really raunchy lately? Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it, but damn!

OK, Rule 34, you truly do suck. This morning I learn there's an LJ community called [info]gabriel_sex_god. This I can live with--pefectly healthy for people to crush on Peter Gabriel. I mean, the guy is totally freaking awesome.

No, what gets me is on the User Info page, where I see a community called [info]genesislash. Hold me, somebody, I'm scared. Ten years ago, I assumed nobody but me really listened to Genesis at all. And now some people are writing erotic fiction about them. Yikes. Don't think I'll be paying that comm a visit anytime soon.

Those undecided voters you see on cable news?

I want to beat them. With a hockey stick. I've never seen a bigger grouping of morons in my life.

Guess I can understand being slow and deliberative. But the mouthbreathers they show on TV are the dumbest of the dumb. I'll bet even money they laugh at "Marmaduke" and "The Family Circus". And not in an ironic way, either.

OK, so I'll admit, I've been following the crowd on this one lately and added the Loud Twitter to my lj. But recently I have wondered if it's something that might be annoying for you, the viewer, to see on your Friends page or not. So instead of forcing it on people, I thought I'd run a poll!

I know, really, any excuse, right...?

Catnap dream

  • Sep. 30th, 2008 at 9:25 AM

Fell asleep on the couch for about half an hour, and had this dream:

I was in Lawrence, Kansas, again, on a visit, with someone special (who I'm not going to name). We were out early in the morning, out and about, from the hotel. She had to stop by the library, even though it was something like six a.m.

Time passed and I watched the sun coming up outside the library. Lawrence's library is in a park, but it wasn't in my dream. In fact, there was a large building in front of the parking lot, instead of the fire station that really exists there. This building had Chinese writing all across the front, and appeared like a U.S. government building.

After a while, I realized that it was getting later in the morning and I needed to collect this person and move on. Except that I was naked. This fact did not bother me--I was cool with it. But I knew I couldn't go into the library naked. And I couldn't call her either--no cell phone when you're naked. The cat, however, was with me.

All of a sudden, this group of guys were outside the building near me. They ignored me and the cat, but started arguing and fighting. So I moved on, still completely naked and carrying the cat, until I found a door to an unoccupied section of the library, a stairwell. There I discovered my robe on the floor.

And that's it. I've read that people can't have dreams after only a few minutes of sleep, because it takes hours to reach REM sleep. That's bullshit.

EDIT: While I'm getting ready for work, I remembered another little dream I had this morning--in it, Eric Link was apologizing for accidentally tearing my one of my sportcoats--my irreplaceable vintage salmon '70s sportcoat. You bastard! :)

Of course, it was fine, hanging in my closet like nothing was wrong. Keeping my eye on you man....
