I CANNOT ROLL MY R'S DDDDDD:
If anyone can help me by giving very detailed instructions or something, PLEASE. PLEASE. A drawing, I don't know. I've been trying, but I can't even make that purring noise. I really need to learn how to do this...! I was hoping to practice like insanity and be able to know it by tomorrow so I don't go to this Portuguese barbeque and sound like a complete idiot 'cause I'm learning Spanish but can't roll my R's. Plus, I need to learn it for class so I can pronounce words properly.

EDIT: So, I actually have 75 words left to memorize. Word, for some reason, counts each box of a table as a separate paragraph and line, so since I use a table with two columns for the words it told me I had double the amount to memorize. There were more earlier, but I memorized them today. My plan is to memorize at least fifteen every day. Also, I think I get crushes on tsundere-looking Asian girls. Chinese and Korean, so far. You know, that one person you see just once or twice and then you’re all, “sldjfa, I want to know them so badly~.” But even if you speak to them, they’re like “don’t bother me” and reply only curtly. That´s how the waitress at the Chinese restaurant acts...! ;_; You´d think she´d be a little nicer ´cause she´s a waitress, but nope. That´s okay, they have good tea there and I really love their spicy chow mein, and their vegetables with prawns... I get to go there tonight for dinner. *drool* At that place, because it´s actual Chinese food and not American Chinese, Chinese people and Indian people are there ALL THE TIME. I think I´ve said that before. Anyway, ´cause I´m a white little skinny girl with glasses, all the Chinese babies like to stare at me if they´re sitting next to me. I think it´s kinda funny, but their parents get mad at them, obviously. Even though I really wish I was born in a bilingual household, Chinese parents are scary.

Tarea:
Memorize at least 15 vocabulary today
Take-home essay
21 workbook pages
Learn to roll r's by the end of Spanish class

Emails in Spanish under the cut. )

MACS ARE AWESOME
Do you know why? because I just set the language for the Finder, and every single application on my computer, to Latin American Spanish default. WITH A SINGLE CLICK OF A BUTTON. All I had to do afterwards was log in and out. ALL THE WORDS I AM TYPING RIGHT NOW, IT SAYS THEY'RE MISPELLED. Ahahaha.

Also, I have more or less 260 vocabulary words and phrases to memorize quite soon, thankyou. Along with my actual homework for both classes. I accidentally took home Sofia's workbook instead of my own, so I'm lucky we own a two-sided scanner and that she didn't already do the chapter that's due soon. She must have taken mine, and I hadn't done the chapter yet either, so it'll be alright. I made copies of the pages and will do them that way. I wish I had her number or something so I could tell her I had it, she's probably freaking out. It's because our teacher kept picking up our books to explain things to the class, and she must have switched their places. D:

EDIT: SDJASHDFASNG ! My workbook was at home, which means that they weren't switched - I just took hers, thinking it was mine, and she didn't notice. Oh no! I hope she's alright. ;_;

Also, I only have $1125. I need more money! ;_; I'll have $300 more by the end of August, but really, I need to find someone who needs to be tutored or something.

NGE Doujinshi
yuri_san posted links to a neat Evangelion doujinshi, worksafe, Japanese, and I really like how the artist drew Shinji. He reminds me of Jun, in this. So I just sent an Email off to a scanlation group that has translated that other NGE doujinshi "Birth of Evangelion" into Spanish - I think I did an okay job! I don't think it's super-obvious that I'm American anymore, as long as I don't write a lot or talk too long, haha. Short sentences are my friends. But it's probably very easy for people to tell, still - it's just that I'm making less grammar mistakes and things. So, here it is:

---------
Primero, no hablo español bien. Lo siento. D:
< First, I don't speak Spanish well. I'm sorry. D: >

Hay un doujinshi de Neon Genesis Evangelion aquí - (de japonés) http://community.livejournal.com/_kaworuxshinji/28410.html
< Here is a doujinshi of Neon Genesis Evangelion - (of Japanese) >

¿A ustedes lo traducen si pregunto? ¿O no? Si no, está bien. Si sí, tengo uno o dos más si quieren. Tengo unos doujinshi de La Melancolía de Suzumiya Haruhi también. Las parejas son ItsukixKyon.

< Do you guys translate it if I ask? Or no? If no, that's fine. If yes, I have one or two more if you want. I have some doujinshi of The Melancholy of Suzumiya Haruhi also. The pairings are ItsukixKyon. >

----------

This scanlation group is "Yaoi Desire" - feel free to Google and get their site if you want, but the layout's a bit annoying and there's no real organization for their doujinshi, you can't select a single series or sort by series or anything. They also have a really annoying banner across the top of their page. D: I completely understand though, they're doing everything for free so of course they don't want to have to pay for anything out of their own pocket unless they need to. They have Naruto, FMA, Code Geass, etc. doujinshi along with manga, translated video games that you can download, and anime subs.

----------

I just touched up some of the fanfics I've translated a bit, to have better translations. For practice this weekend I'll try to find some sort of crackish easy thing to translate, haha.

Studying Abroad
So~, I'm thinking either Ecuador or Argentina. I still want to go to Spain, but I realize it's probably impossible. D:

Ecuador and Argentina, from this company, are both about $8,500. They don't pay for bus passes, school uniforms, or personal items - which is normal for high school ones, it seems. This company seems the best in that they cover the most things (airfare from international airport, instead of the normal root city or whatever they call the them - most places would make me pay to fly from my airport to, say, New York and then they'd pay from New York to the country) and are cheap, compared to other companies.

I would be going for an academic year, and by the time of departure would either have completed Spanish III or IV at my local college. Right now my GPA's 3-something, so that's not a worry. I need to find out if there is a high crime rate and stuff in Ecuador, things like that. (I'm mainly looking at Ecuador). So far, all I've seen is "Don't go on the volcano by Quito 'cause there's robbers from Colombia and stuff" and "Don't go near the Ecuador-Colombia boarder". Food and things are cheap compared to here, in the US/Seattle area. Ecuador uses US dollars, but they also have special Ecuadorian coins - but they accept both regular US and Ecuador coins equally, so that's no problem. I don't have a credit card and will never get one, so I don't have to worry about small businesses not accepting credit cards. Apparently there are Automated Teller Machines in almost every town/city, so going to the bank won't be a problem.

More later, I should do homework. I took the Psychology practice test today, and it was far easier than I expected - so I'm not worrying about the test anymore. I have a Spanish vocab quiz on new vocab we just go today, tomorrow - so I need to study those. It's good, travel vocabulary, but I only know the names of two or three things, so I have to study more than I would have. D:

I only have $1125 in the bank. ;_;

Oooh, I want to make a doujinshi so badly!! There is a KHR comm that’s making a fanbook or something, with doujinshi and fanfic, and they say they’re going to do more projects in the future. (I just barely missed the deadline to sign up for the first one they’re doing, a DinoxHibari sort of thing that while I’m not really into, it’s more plausible than a lot of pairings I’ve seen, as long as you do it right. And it would be really fun to participate in ‘cause Hibari’s so violent. Argggg)

I have A TON of homework from my classes. Well, more from Spanish than from Psychology, but a lot. She taught us command form, indirect object pronouns, and direct object pronouns today. We also have all that vocabulary to study, and I need to study pronunciation. I have a Spanish test Thursday and a Psychology test Thursday….. That’s not so bad because all I have to do is read a lot and study, but both teachers put almost everything online. That’d be great if I had internet access all the time, but as it is I usually only get internet sometime after six or seven, so I end up spending the remaining hours before bedtime doing the homework that can only be done on the computer, rather than playing. Well, I play a bit too.

My Spanish teacher gave me at least twenty handouts today, no lie. I could go count them, but that means I’d have to start on the worksheets, and I only got home from class two hours ago… I just want to do nothing, please…..! ;_; (It’s about five right now)

I should start going to bed at nine-thirty or so instead of ten. I feel really sleepy in Psychology, along with the entire rest of the class. It’s nice that I’m not the only one, but… Our teacher is pretty quiet, errr, soft-spoken, and so that doesn’t help. My Spanish teachers have all been rather loud and slightly harsh-sounding. Plus we’re constantly doing things in that class, reading from the book or getting up to the whiteboard to answer questions, things like that, while in Psychology we mumble the answers to questions if we know them, and so far we’ve pretty much just listened to our teacher talk.

Although my new Spanish teacher doesn’t have us go to the whiteboard very much, I don’t think she’s had us do it at all - she also doesn’t use her computer to do things on either, she uses an actual overhead machine and easily half the class can never read what’s on the overheads. They always crowd around to where I’m sitting and try to copy it down, haha. She’s started making copies of the overheads and has been giving me handouts of them, which is really nice, but now I get like ten extra papers a day. I need a folder or something, I’m kinda reluctant to get a binder… On that note, I need a notebook to take notes in for Psychology too - I use an old composition notebook for Spanish notes, but both covers are falling off so I need a new one of those… Gah. That has my Japanese notes in the back too, haha. I like keeping all the language notes in the same notebook, you know?

I’m not going to fall into the trap of drinking energy drinks or anything (Besides, who has money for that?) I also need to make some sort of lunch that will keep for four or five hours, so I can eat it in class, ‘cause there’s not enough break time in-between the two of them for me to eat outside of class. I generally have about ten minutes in-between classes, and the breaks we get in the middle of them are only about five or ten minutes, so that’s not enough time either. Dunno what the teacher’ll feel about me eating in class though. It should be fine… I wish I got daily money or something for a snack - that way I wouldn’t have to worry about making a sandwich or something and smashing it in my backpack, or only being able to pack things that will spoil by the time I get hungry.
